I started out trying to do something along the lines of "r from mail" but then I realised something didn't quite click with it. Maybe it was laziness on my part, but the thought of telling Alfred which application to pull information from seemed like a bit of a bore. So instead, I give you the "r this" keyword. Pop open Alfred, type those 6 characters, and he'll just fish information out of whatever application you're using and turn it into a reminder, and you can use all of the other keywords too!

The downside to this is I need to code each application seperately, so right now, it only works with Chrome, Safari and Mail (but he'll tell you if it's an application he's not familiar with) in the latest version. So I put it to you, the loyal usership, to let me know which applications I should add support for.

The reason is that some workflow requires a bit of time to run. and some of them related to monitoring, notes and tasks can be useful to just pin on the top for a while.

Or you can just create a workflow. Setup three keywords (that take no argument) and attach each to a unique action to Launch Apps. Drag the application you want to launch into each Launch Apps action. Problem solved.

It also appears that it may not search really short terms so if you search something and every term doesn't appear, that may be why

    Hi,
my best compliments for this extension, it is great!

Let me add one more suggestion, what about creating a reminder from an email? I mean something like

    r on 12/12/13 12:00 from Mail

it would read the currently selected email and create a reminder linked to it.

While searching for such feature, I stepped into this page with some useful snippet

    Thanks
    Gaetano

drking reacted to oderwat in Window Arrangement Workflow
This workflow is useable but also a skeleton I made to answer a question @rosenkrieger asked on app.net (https://alpha.app.net/rosenkrieger/post/4397777).

In the form I present it, it has hotkeys and (non searchable) the ".arrange" keyword which lists some arrangement setups (frontmost window left, right, top left quarter) and an example on starting an application (safari) and moving its window into place.

Keep in mind this was more a proof of concept for testing if it is possible to start apps and arrange windows with alfred in an easy way.

It can be used to resize the frontmost window by keeping the application name in setWin() empty (see the first 3 of my sample setups)

It also can be used as base to create your own customized workflow which starts applications and puts it's window into the place you want (see the 4th setup)

    After installing the workflow set the Hotkeys to "Shift + ALT + CMD + A", "Shift + ALT + CMD + B", "Shift + ALT + CMD + C",  "Shift + ALT + CMD + D"

When you then press the hotkeys it does the frontmost window resize magic. You can also pop up Alfred and type ".arrange " to get the list of available arrangement setups and chose one of them.

Feel free to modify the script (pretty straight forward I think) to do what you want!

Another update. I followed a different route from the original thinking and ended up opting for using a script that’s called with different parameters, depending on the bookmark being saved with your default privacy setting, or as private. It will allow for easier editing, which also makes it easier to contribute to.

Hi, attached is a workflow for Droplr app (download)

"Upload" keyword and then type the name of the file you want to uploaddi

Or use as a file action inside Alfred's file browser

Btw, a little Droplr tip, you can hotlink any image on d.pr by appending a "+,png" at the end of the URL.

    Enjoy
