  1. I'm particular about my menu bar as well. Have you checked out Bartender to keep it tidy?
  2. I used this blog post from Tapbots to make it so that the twitter handle in the contact viewer opens that person's account in Tweetbot.
  3. You just start typing the name of the app...
  4. Updated it for use in Canada, so I changed yelp.com to yelp.ca, and fixed the city to "Toronto, ON {postal code}" Worked like a charm. Awesome, thanks!
  5. Sorry to report, it's still not working for me. Still stuck on Searching
  6. Without changing anything, it's stuck on "Searching..."
  7. How does PreDB differ from Piratebay? I don't quite understand.
  8. HUGE fan of the Piratebay workflow (use it every day - thank you!!), but I'm wondering if it's seen any updates since the developers removed it from the forum?
  9. Inspired by previous work, with the font and colours sampled from the menu bar in OS X. Now updated for 10.9, OS X Menu Bar v4 is designed to look like it came part and parcel with OS X Mavericks. Download it here.
  10. I suppose it'd help if I knew what SSH meant. Nevermind.
  11. Nice! I narrowed the window (grown accustomed to a skinny Alfred!), and shrunk the entered text a bit, but I like it! It's a nice change from my Pygmy theme, which I've been using for a month and a half now.
  12. I'd be interested in a little further detail about how to add a server to Secure Copy. I have a Mac mini I access from my MacBook Pro (and vice versa) and would love to be able to use Alfred to move files back and forth. Or have I missed the point...?
  13. There are a few things I want to do with workflows, but I don't want to have to plead for someone else to write the script for me. Could someone direct me to an online resource to learn the basics of script that will work in Alfred workflows? Thanks!
  14. The developers have been pretty clear that there's nothing they can do about us not being able to sync to the /Dropbox/Apps folder, as it's a Dropbox API issue. My advice is to either sync to a different folder, or don't sync to Dropbox. Also, if you're still able to sync to this folder, your version of Alfred is woefully out of date, as Andrew blocked use of that folder exactly a month ago today.
  15. You have to hold the "fn" key to get the hotkey, and you'll need to hold it every time as part of the hotkey.
  16. I had the same problem, but here it is: open Alfred, press "/" without the quotations, then navigate to the folder you want to favourite. Then press the right arrow key and scroll down to "Add to Favorites" and hit Enter.
  17. Hahaha! Yeah, I'm pretty sure I did something similar when I found it a while back.
  18. Regarding the clutter in the menu bar, have you seen Bartender? Allows you display only what you want seen on the menu bar, hide some stuff in a toggled bar, and completely hide other stuff (ie. Caffeine). Best of all, it allows for stuff to be displayed temporarily when the icon changes (ie. when Caffeine activates or deactivates). My menu bar with Bartender bar closed: My menu bar with Bartender bar open:
  19. Unfortunately, I would have no idea how to do that. Here's the innards of this workflow:
  20. One of the most annoying things of writing a college paper is having to write the references. I used to look for previous papers where I'd already written the reference, then copy, paste, and refine for the new paper. It probably took longer than just writing the reference from scratch, but I hated the idea of losing marks on APA formatting. So as a concept, in my free time, I created a workflow to paste the complete reference into my paper so I only had to edit it for what I was citing this time. I found a character to start each keyword with that didn't pull anything else up in Alfred, so it starts with a clean list: Then I type the name of the main author of the textbook (or I can press ⌘ and whatever number, obviously): Hit Enter, and there it is: I expect this will save me TONS of time. Not sure if it'll be of any use to anyone else, but I'm proud of it, so I wanted to share. If you are interested, it can be downloaded here.
