  1. If you often scale designs using the golden ratio, you are probably tired of copy/pasting from your calculator. Now, with the Golden Ratio Workflow, after selecting a number, a simple hotkey will paste that number multiplied or divided by 1.618, the golden ratio. cmd+opt+shift+G will multiply the number by 1.618 and paste the result. cmd+opt+G will divide by 1.618 and paste it. View it in action here: https://monosnap.com/direct/WY9O1oh71mMjGNfYL94kwazBxeHnoU Try it out for yourself here: http://www.kevnk.com/public/alfred/Golden-Ratio.alfredworkflow
  2. Is there an action or hacky way to restore the previous contents of your clipboard after running a workflow that pastes a string (determined by `{query}`) into your front-most app? Example use case: I use unicode-symbols-search โ†— to paste unicode symbols into my frontmost app using `uni {query}`. I probably most often use this to insert the symbol "โ†—" (lol) after link text to indicate that the text is a link, and then paste the destination link afterwards, but if I use this workflow (or any workflow with the "Copy to Clipboard" action), the pasted string overrides the link I had in my clipboard. Checking "Mark item as transient in clipboard" to true doesn't seem to have the behaviour I'm looking for. Is there a way (or action) to restoring previous clipboard contents after "Copy to Clipboard" action? Quick example of what how I imagine this working here โคต Any help would be appreciated! (And another image of my "Copy to Clipboard" settings in this workflow attached)
  3. I want to copy something like wp-content/plugins/event-tickets/tests/restv1/TicketNotAccessibleCest.php and convert it to codecept run tests/restv1/TicketNotAccessibleCest.php and paste it the "event-tickets" part is variable, which is why I used regex to match \w When I run with debugging on, it's like the Clipboard (what I think should be {query}) is blank. Screenshot: https://cl.ly/120d35b1fd91 Is that a bug or an error in my workflow? Workflow is here: https://cl.ly/005392a2a9cd Thanks for helping!
  4. Hi everyone, I couldn't find any post talking about this anywhere in the forum, please forgive me if this is not the case ๐Ÿ™‡ I copy/paste lots of colours and I almost entirely rely on the Alfred's clipboard to store them. I LOVE the built-in hex colour preview. HOWEVER the clipboard fails to show a visual preview of the colour whenever the "#" is missing in the colour code (please see screenshots attached to show what i mean. I was wondering if there's a way to tweak this in the preferences? So that Alfred attempts to preview any bit of text containing 6 digits? I know there are many workflows to convert colour from one format to another - some of which are awesome btw - but I was hoping to tweak the clipboard settings rather than add an unnecessary step to my M.O. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thank you, Max
  5. Hi, It would be nice to have the option to edit the selected item in the clipboard before pasting. Thank you.
  6. Auto paste on return is no longer working for me. ? I tried the suggestions from https://www.alfredforum.com/topic/10481-clipboard-auto-paste-on-return-stopped-working/ but have had no luck in fixing the issue. Things I've tried: Restart Reinstall of Alfred No other clipboard apps installed Using the latest 3.7 [938] and on Mojave 10.14.1 Beta (18B57c) -- I think this was happening even before I updated to Mojave, but I can't 100% remember.
  7. Hi. I have a spreadsheet that I am copying multiple cells into another sheet- but I'd like it in just 1 cell. What I've been doing is using Clean Text to remove returns from the app, but if I could run a shortcut to remove returns from my clipboard it would save me the steps of pasting into Clean Text, clicking remove returns, and copying that text.
  8. I am trying to use Alfred as my goto clipboard manager on my Mac. Is there a way to add sound such that when I am using Alfred's clipboard functions, I hear an audible sound when I perform a copy operation and/or a paste operation? Adding this capability would make Alfred much more useful for me.
  9. When it's been a while since I've opened the clipboard history, when I hit the hotkey nothing happens. When I press it a second time, then it will show up fine and will continue to work fine for a while, but then again if I don't use it for awhile I will have to do it twice again. Is anyone else seeing this problem? I'm on mac sierra 10.13.5 (17F77)
  10. Hello! New Alfred user here, and I really enjoy it so far. I'm running into a little quirk and I can't find a solution for it. If I use the snippet function and then shortly after attempt to paste the last thing I copied to my clipboard, my snippet is pasted again. I read on this forum about there possibly being a set delay time for the snippet to be "wiped" from the clipboard, but I have tried waiting even several minutes, but my snippet is still pasted instead of what I last copied to my clipboard. Are there some settings I should check? Or could this be a bug? Thanks in advance for the help.
  11. Hello, I'm trying to switch to a clipboard manager, but Alfred is giving me a hard time. Basically every time when I do my shortcut to reveal the history it moves the last active window to center and leaves it there. short gif screengrab: https://imgur.com/a/j519Gom Is there an option to disable that kind of behavior ?
  12. Hi, How do i reveal the folder full of images in the clipboard history/find it's path? Often i am looking for things in there, being able to reveal it and search through it would be great. Thanks, Alex
  13. Hi everyone! A few Alfred starter questions. It's going to be quite a long list, as the more I use this wonderful software, the more eager I get to explore its capabilities. 1. Text expansion: do you folks prefer to use macOS's text replacement feature or Alfred's snippets? Alfred's offering is superior, of course, but macOS text replacements can be synced to mobile iOS devices, which is very compelling. 2. We all know macOS's open and save dialogs are a nightmare, especially after you're used to efficient keyboard navigation with Alfred. Is there ANY way whatsoever to apply Alfred's basic File Search capabilities to the open and save panels? If not, is there any other software that can offer this? 3. I would like to know if there is a way to perform a more intelligent file search (I believe this is also called "fuzzy" search, correct me if I'm wrong) in Alfred. For example, let's say I have the following directory: I expect Alfred to find the folder "Red" only if I type a partial string like "do cha re". Similarly, if I type something such as "do cha bl en", ideally Alfed would find "Engine.jpg" inside "/Blue". Launch Bar behaves like this and it works very well! It would be amazing if Alfred would do the same. 4. Is a difference between pressing `โŒ˜+C` (copying) and hitting `โ†ต` (selecting) on an item from the clipboard history? 5. I noticed that when interacting (whether copying or selecting) with a clipboard item, that item jumps to the top of the list. Is there any way to disable that? 6. Is it possible to activate Quick Look on clipboard items? 7. Is it possible to open the File Action menu for items in the clipboard history? Some of the clipboard items are files for all intents and purposes, so making them compatible with File Actions is almost a no-brainer. And I can definitely imagine various File Actions for other clipboard items that are not "files" per se, such as copied images and texts (like Imgur uploading for the former, and creating a new note in Notes for the latter). Thank you very much!
  14. Alfred 3.6, macOS 10.13.3 I have the Clipboard Viewer Hotkey set to Command-Control-spacebar but Alfred is not responding to it, instead responding to Command-Option-Spacebar which is clashing with an InDesign CC keyboard command. I've quit Alfred and relaunched but this didn't resolve the issue. I've also tried to toggle the hotkey to something else and back again but Alfred would not accept a new hotkey.
  15. v3.6 [903] - High Sierra 10.13.3 Steps to reproduce: - trigger the clipboard viewer - choose an entry then Cmd+S to create a snippet from this entry - give the snippet a name, then save The snippet you just supposedly created is nowhere to be found :-/
  16. Hi All Apologies if this has already been dealt with (I have searched and not found any conclusive answer on the forum). Is there a way to have curly bracket placeholders other than {query} - specifically {clipboard:0}, {clipboard:1}, {clipboard:2}, ... - evaluated within a php script? It appears that {clipboard:7} does not get evaluated upon initialisation like {query} does, but rather remains a placeholder right up to the moment where it is passed to some Alfred output such as Large Type, and only then is the clipboard value retrieved from the DB. Code example: $query = "{query}"; // $query has been assigned the value passed to the script $i = 7; $history_item = "{clipboard:$i}"; // $history_item has not been assigned any value from the clipboad stack - it holds the literal string value '{clipboard:7}' That means I can't access, search, and manipulate the clipboard history items within my code. Will I need to query clipboard.alfdb manually, or is there a simpler solution? All help appreciated
  17. Hello, Using Alfred 3 + Powerpack on Sierra, all latest versions, using the Clipboard, I am able to copy text and copy images, but as soon as the copied item includes both text (arrow below) and an image (red box below), Alfred only displays the text in the clipboard history. Thank you for your time and help this is what I wanted to copy: one line of text (underlined + arrow) + image below (in box)
  18. Hello, When I copy an image from my screenshot software (Snagit), I can directly past it in another place (it confirms that the image is well copied), but it is not correctly stored in the Clipboard history of Alfred as you can see in the following screenshot (and if I try to paste it from the Alfred clipboard history, it does not works) : Alfred 3.6 - Build 903 macOS 10.13.3 NB : I did not have this issue with my previous clipboard manager (Paste).
  19. Hello, I don't use Alfred currently to manage my clipboard (I use the app Paste) for one single reason : In Paste, I can select multiple results (with the shift key) to paste all the results at the same time, which seems to be impossible in Alfred. Is there any solution to do that in Alfred, or is it planned in a future release ? This topic is about the clipboard, but I have exactly the same issue with Chrome bookmarks results in Alfred : I would like to be able to select more than one result to open the selection in several tabs (my workaround today is to create workflows, but it would be way more efficient to just be able to select multiple results for your search, like selecting multiple files in Finder). Anyway, thanks for this great app that I use everyday. Edit : Added a video
  20. Hi guys! I keep seeing a weird little issue with Alfred 3.5.1 and I just wanted to ask if you've heard about it before: Oftentimes when I wake my MacBook Pro from sleep in the morning, Alfred's clipboard viewer will be stuck on the screen, with Alfred not responding to shortcuts or anything like that - I can move down the clipboard list (so the viewer is at least responding to the arrow keys), but I cannot do anything else with Alfred and I cannot make the clipboard viewer go away, no matter what I do. It stays on top of everything else and just sits there, the only way to get rid of it is to quit Alfred via the menu bar item. I guess the issue first came up a couple of months ago (I'm pretty sure it was after Alfred 3.5.1 was released) and it always goes away without me doing anything and then comes back a couple of days or a week later. For the last couple of days the clipboard viewer has been stuck on screen consistently every morning - and while it is not a problem or a big deal at all and just a tiny little bit annoying, I figured I'd ask in the forum if this has been mentioned before. I couldn't find anything via the forum search, so I started a new topic. Thanks & cheers, Anna - Alfred 3.5.1 - macOS Sierra 10.12.6 - MacBook Pro Retina, 15", mid 2015
  21. Right now Alfred allows full fuzzy matches for app names only, e.g. pto -> Photos. This leads to inconsistent results, when searching for files and also clipboard, snippets etc. I would really like an option to enable the same behavior everywhere, so I can type for instance errcod -> ErrorCodes. Are there any plans to implement this in the future?
  22. Contrary to many who ask for unlimited clipboard history, I prefer to keep mine trimmed down. Right now I go through the list once in a while and delete items which I won't reuse at all. However I sometimes end up deleting something useful. My request is to be able to star items in the clipboard history, so they can be skipped when doing a "clear history".
  23. Hi! I am using the clipboard manager Unclutter. When writing a workflow for pasting generated passwords, they keep showing up in the clipboard list, despite me checking the box "Mark item as transient in clipboard", when using the Copy to Clipboard Output. macOS 10.13.1 Alfred v.3.5.1[883]
  24. Saves the selected text to a file. The new text adds to the old one. Download You find an interesting quote that you would like to keep. Usually you copy the text, run the reader and paste the text. And with Alfred you can select the text and press the hockey. All. How it's done: 1. Create a Hotkey trigger. 2. As an option, select Selection in macOS. 3. Create Outputs โ†’ Write text File. 4. Connect them. 5. Prescribe the path to the text file, in which you will save everything. 6. Choose Append on the right, so that the new text does not erase the old one, but was added. 7. In the main field, insert the following: {datetime: medium} {clipboard} Automaton, when you have selected the text and clicked hotkey, the text file will be added with the selected text, but the current date and time will appear before it. You can create a diary and write to it. And you do not care which application you're writing in, even in the address bar. ## โ€“ for markdown.
  25. In the settings, it says that you can merge two adjacent clipboard items by pressing cmd and double tapping C. This does not seem to work as described, and instead only copies the selected item to the clipboard. It is possible that I am misreading the instructions, as they are somewhat confusing, but then I would request that the instructions be changed? Thanks so much
