  1. I mostly bought Alfred for text replacement and clipboard features. I saw something in a competing clipboard product that'd be pretty helpful, and I can't seem to find a way to pull it off with workflows as-is. The feature lets you create a script that will be applied to the text in the clipboard, with a preview window and some other niceties. For me, the value is I use a bewildering number of different slightly-incompatible Markdown-like syntaxes all day, and it'd be nice to work in my editor in one universal format and paste via scripts that convert to the various idiosyncratic ones. Their example is "make an HTML list from items" but I'm seeing more value in things like "Let me convert some CSV rows to the three dumb Markdown table formats used across the systems I need." It'd save me a lot of dang effort, and could be as simple as giving me a workflow that lets me use a clipboard snippet as input. I think I could pull that off right now via AppleScript, but it's unwieldy enough I'd rather just buy the other product. Same time, I've already paid for Alfred, so I'd rather not switch.
  2. I have a snippet that generates a test email for me to use. It has some dynamic text inside that includes the current date and time using placeholders ex. myrandomemail{date:KKmmssaYMMMd}@testemail.com Is it possible that as soon as I use this one snippet, it copies the output to my clipboard manager?
  3. Hi, I've read several thread regarding this but I think I am still clueless as to how it works. What I am looking for: a workflow which will append any Clipboard inputs to my clipboard.txt document. What is the best way to do it? Any help would be appreciated.
  4. Hey Everyone I'm trying to figure out if Alfred has a specific functionality. Like many of you, I do a crazy amount of email, and I'm constantly searching for something in a browser, copying the URL, and then pasting in an email client. My dream is something like MixMax (chrome + gmail plugin that allows '/' search), or the command+k shortcut in google docs (see image below), which works in any applications. My question - is there any way using Alfred, to enter a google search term, see the top 10 results, choose one, and then paste that URL, without ever leaving Alfred (and never opening a browser)? Thanks for any help! (PS - I understand that the example below is creating a hyperlink. It's just for illustration. I'm interested in pasting the actual URL in any context.)
  5. I am having a consistent issue with the keyboard shortcut on macOS Sierra. I have bound the Clipboard History Shortcut to SHIFT + APPLE + V (I have used this with another app for years - it is basically hardwired now) However, after a reboot the shortcut does not work. The only way I have found to get it to work is to go to ADVANCED > SET SYNC FOLDER Then change the Sync folder It is saved in Google Drive synced using inSync (not Dropbox - I saw a thread saying this could be an issue) What i have been doing is changing it to a tmp folder, then changing it back. This drives me a little nuts - any help much appreciated
  6. When use snippet and expand my text, then my clipboard is override by snippet text. Is is expected? or could it be turned off.
  7. Hi, I'm curious as to what this feature enables http://imgur.com/a/ooP76 "Keep File Lists" You can find it in "Alfred Preferences">"Features">"Clipboard" I clicked the little question-mark and it brought me to the documentation at https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/clipboard/ but there's no mention of the feature. I see: >With Alfred's Clipboard History, you don't need to worry about text, images and file links you've copied but forgot to paste earlier; It's all there in your searchable history. but no other explanation. Thanks!
  8. Hey folks, as a software developer I often use die clipboard history and I know exactly the position of the clipboard history element, which I need. Is it possible (e.g. via alfred workflow) to paste directly the 2nd,3rd,nth clipboard item in the alfred clipboard history? that would be awesome, cheers Josef
  9. Hi Guys I work with a software that I need always copy from it and past somewhere else. I have a problem with it since it has a lot of unwanted spaces. For example: "My text has a lot of spaces" I would like some workflow that removes all spaces from text except for single spaces between words. In my example would be like that: "My text has a lot of spaces" Basically equal to the function TRIM on Microsoft Excel, I don't have experience with code, so I really appreciate some help.
  10. Snippet entry followed immediately by a paste command, seems to result in pasting the contents of the snippet, rather than the top item of my clipboard. Example below. Clipboard is also managed by Alfred. If I wait a full second or two before pasting, my clipboard contents are pasted correctly, and confirm that my clipboard list does not include the snippet text. I do not see a setting to reduce this delay, so I suspect this is a bug. * what were you doing when the issue happened Entered keyword for snippet, immediately followed by Cmd+V for pasting my clipboard contents. I realize that I can use "{clipboard}" for this, but to keep my snippets more flexible, I prefer paste separate from the snippet action. * Whether you were able to replicate it a second time by performing the same action Confirmed this issue exists in several applications. (Primarily seen in iTerm2) * Include any screenshots that might help us Strictly a text/snippet issue, so example below- $ ps -ef | grep ps -ef grep Expected: $ ps -ef | grep 12345 where "12345" is the current contents of my clipboard. * Include the Alfred version & build number you are using v3.0.3 [694] * Include your OS X version 10.11.5
  11. Hi All, I have looked on the web for the answer to this and have not found what I am looking for. My problem is this: When I start a workflow execution that requires and argument, I want to search my clipboard history for that argument. Since I have already called up alfred with 'Command'+'space' and typed my workflow in, when I go to input the argument needed I want to again enter 'Command'+'alt'+'C' to search my history for the argument. Once I do this, alfred's state change to the clipboard history and I can't return to where I was before with the start of the workflow. Of course the workaround is to make sure the argument I need is already the first item in my clipboard history so I can easily just paste it in without searching, but it would be nice if I could search. It decrease my error rate during clutch situations for sure. Let me know if I am not clear in my question. Thanks! Dave
  12. Alfred version 3.1 [718] Mac Os X 10.11.6 Hi i love alfred but i think there are 2 problems with clipboard: if another app copy a string on a clipboard i can't see the string on clipboard history. Example: open 1password and search a password click on copy button and i can't see the password on clipboard history when i copy a formatted text on clipboard, when i try to repaste the text loose the formatting. Example go to https://www.tinymce.com/copy the editor content, copy something else, delete the editor content and try to paste the first content on the editor.... the paste lose all formatting. Before to switch to alfred i used Clipboard History and this app don't have these issues. Please fix.
  13. I'm not sure if this would be a workflow or a custom web search. But here's what I'm trying to do. I want to copy multiple urls, and then combine them all into a single query. Use case: I copy 4 different urls and then search for them on a site called sharedcount.com. http://url1.com,http://url2.com,http://url3.com So I'd type 'shared count 3' for example, and it would merge clipboard urls 1, 2 and 3 in https://www.sharedcount.com/dashboard.php?urls=http://url1.com,http://url2.com,http://url3.com How might one accomplish this? Thanks in advance.
  14. Hello, I was just wondering if it was possible to remove the View snippets for 'Collection', or move them to the end of the list of results when viewing from the clipboard history/snippets. Basically, I was hoping to have the snippets listed as they were from Alfred 2 when going from the Clipboard History > All Snippets. I am including a screenshot that I hope makes my question easier to understand.
  15. Is there a way to selectively remove items from the clipboard history? Normally, I want to have items attached to the clipboard to remain. But, if I've copied and pasted a password, that's something that I would only want to remain for a limited amount of time (like maybe a day or less).
  16. Currently I'm using ClipMenu for clipboard history. Alfred's just feels too insufficient. I would like to be able to see a longer preview of the copied text. I don't want to see the whole chunk per se, so the right pane is superfluous. But I would like to be able to dedicate the full size of the viewer to just the preview like we see in the left pane. If I could do that, I could eliminate ClipMenu altogether.
  17. I find it awkward to have to distinguish between pulling up the main alfred window to type "clear" to clear my clipboard history, and using a separate command to view it. It'd be much easier to pull up my clipboard, and be able to type in 'clear' or something so that i can see the history, scan it, then clear it.
  18. Hi Apologies if this is something really stupid that I have misinterpreted. When I try to copy a composite bit of text and an image to the Alfed 3 Clipboard, the text copies fine, but instead of the image, the filename is being copied. How do I copy the text and the image properly together? Thanks!
  19. Hey! I often find myself in a situation where I need to paste the URL from one of my Safari bookmarks to someone in email, chat, forums, etc. It's great that I can easily find bookmarks in Alfred but in these cases I don't want to open the bookmark in my browser, I just want to copy its URL to the clipboard without leaving whatever app I'm in. Would anyone be kind enough to help me figure out how to accomplish this? Thanks!
  20. MacOS X 10.11.5 Alfred : 652 Application : Oxygen 15.2 ( java based app ) I activate the clipboard selector and choose one of the lines out of my clipboard history. What's gets pasted is the last value I copied to clipboard ( which usually is not the one I want ). Also I have noticed that selecting a snipped doesn't place it in my active clipboard history anymore ( like it did in Alfred 2 , which was very useful )
  21. Back in the day there was a clipboard app called Flycut/Jumpcut. When you pressed the hotkeys to bring up the interface, you needed to hold the modifier keys, select which clip you wanted to paste, and then let go of the modifier keys to paste the clip into the active application. So basically, you would: hold cmd+shift then tap v while still holding cmd+shift, use arrow keys to scroll through clips when you have the clip you want to paste selected, let go of cmd+shift the content is pasted into the frontmost application With Alfred, when you press the modifier keys (in my case cmd+shift+v, it brings up the Clipboard viewer, but you have to let go of the modifier keys before you can use the arrow keys to navigate through the clips. And when you arrive on the clip, you have to press return to paste. Is there a way to make Alfred behave like Flycut/Jumpcut as described above?
  22. As it is currently I'm hiding the Alfred menubar icon with Bartender mainly because it adds very little. What I would like though is the possibility to use the icon to select and paste items from the clipboard as an alternative to bringing up the clipboard entry list through the hotkey combination. Have a look at Collective for example. The usual functionality can be relegated to context-clicking the Alfred icon as far as I am concerned.
  23. V3 supports images in clipboard history. It would be great if I could save images as snippets that I'll be able to paste anywhere
  24. Hello guys, my question is really simple: I have a folder containing 5 .txt files named 1,2,3,4,5. I need to create a workflow that gets the content of the file specified in the input and copy it to my clipboard (and possibly paste it to the front app). ex: "copy 1" and it copies the content of 1.txt to my clipboard I've been trying for hours but I didnt manage to make anything work. I can do that from the terminal but if I use the same code in alfred it doesn't work. I don't get what I am doing wrong. Thanks in advance!
