  1. We could use an AppleScript like this for Chrome. I modified this simple script: https://github.com/mobjack/MacChromeCalendarFocus Still having a little trouble focusing the correct window. If anyone can help on that please let me know what's missing: tell application "Google Chrome" repeat with w in windows set i to 1 repeat with t in tabs of w if URL of t starts with "https://inbox.google.com/" then set active tab index of w to i set index of w to 1 tell application "Google Chrome" to activate tell application "System Events" keystroke "c" end tell return end if set i to i + 1 end repeat end repeat open location "https://inbox.google.com/" tell application "System Events" keystroke "c" end tell end tell tell application "Google Chrome" to activate
  2. While the case seems to be closed, I am posting this in the case I am not the only one to have experienced this. I subscribed to the "Share your workflows section" long time ago. This week, I cleaned my email inbox and there were dozens of email notifications coming from Alfred's forum with Korean characters. These were 1-2 or more months old emails. They looked like a regular notification with a regular subject line ("XXXX posted a new subject bla bla bla") but for every new subject posted I received like 5 emails. The email content was closer to spam than notification. Apparently, either something has been fixed or the spammer found better things to do.
  3. Hi, I'm trying to send a document via email thru Alfred. My default email client is Outlook. But it doesn't show a new email window when I try to do it. See a video here: https://db.tt/gHVeDDMO My steps: 1) Find a document 2) Right arrow to show a list of options 3) Choose "Email" 4) My email tool is shown up, but doesn't generate a new email window, neither offering to send this document in attachment. Thanks, Alexander
  4. Hi there, New Alfred user. Is there any way for me to email a file to multiple recipients? In Quicksilver I could do this by hitting the comma key on each recipient and then pressing return once I had built up my list. Thanks! Jack
  5. HI Sending an email doesn't seem to work. The search element works fine, but when I hit return on a contact it switches to my mail app and doesn't open a new email. This happens if I hit return on starting a blank email or if I have found a contact with Alfred and hit return. In both instances mail becomes the active app, but nothing happens, no new mail is started. I'm on the latest version of Alfred. I'm using Yosemite 10.10.3 (14D136), and Mac Mail Version 8.2 (2098) as my default mail client. thanks
  6. Hi, I regularly send emails to myself and would like to use Alfred to automate the process. It would have to create a new email and set the sender field to my email address. Am I missing an easy way to do this? Thanks! LT
  7. I'd love the ability to create an email to multiple contacts. Is there a way we could have something like the file buffer for email addresses and then place all of them in the "to:" field?
  8. Hi, I would like to create a workflow that opens the Mail app, creates a new email to a specific address and adds a subject line. Not clear how to do this in Alfred Prefs/Workflows. Can someone help?
  9. I was a little frustrated by the solutions to add tasks to Wunderlist and decided to try it myself. Very basic and can probably be done way more efficient but might help someone and decided to share it. Keyword triggered, in my case "wun". Triggers command to send mail to me@wunderlist from my email with the new query. The new task is added to Wunderlist's Inbox without opening Wunderlist. Script: mail -s "{query}" "me@wunderlist.com" -f jacob.leander.olsson@gmail.com <<EOF Added from Alfred EOF Link: https://db.tt/ES8t3PEL Feedback, thoughts and improvements are always welcome!
  10. Friends: Is there a workflow where I select a file then auto open Mail app with file as attachment? Thanks amigos Miguel
  11. Hi I'm using Postbox as my client for Gmail. After ticking 'use Gmail to compose email' under 'Contacts' > 'email', I was hoping Alfred would default to sending emails via Postbox. Instead, when I attempt to send email using Alfred, it defaults to the web based Gmail account which I don't like using at all. I'm very new to Alfred - can you help? Thanks Paul
  12. I am a very, very new user of Alfred but wondering if it can help me with something I find really annoying. In Airmail I have to do four seperate “clicks" to empty the trash and return to the Inbox. (Click Trash>emty Trash>confirm empty>Inbox) Are there any Airmail users out there? If so is there a way in which I can get Alfred to empty Airmail’s Trash? Thanks.
  13. Apologies for the very basic question: I have just started experimenting with Alfred, and was trying to get the 'send email' feature to work, without success. When I type 'wj_dorman', Alfred sees my email address in my contacts app. But when I type 'email wj_dorman' all I get are options for Google and Wikipedia searches. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Bill
  14. Hello there, I think it will be a cool feature to "email <[intelligent] group from the Contact App>" Regards, Dr. Doud.
  15. Steps to reproduce: 1. Select PDF file on desktop 2. Hit chosen shortcut to action the selected file 3. Select Email To... 3. Start typing a recipient's name 4. Hit enter for the chosen recipient 5. Hit Alfred's shortcut (nothing happens - it's hung) Environment notes: I don't use Mail.app (haven't for many many months), but I noticed that it required a database migration. I did that and tried again. Still an issue. I use Airmail for my default mail client. Late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina 13" running OS X 10.9.3. Other: I'm a developer and can provide a spin dump or whatever you need.
  16. Upon searching and locating a file (say an image file) I right arrow to action on the item, then choose to 'email to' the file, then search and select a contact to send the file to. All goes fine until email app fires up. Background: I have Thunderbird as my default email app - which works just fine with Alfred when I go directly to search and select a contact to launch email. However, when I use the 'email to' to send a file, my Apple Mail app launches. ...not what I want. Any way to solve this?
  17. Hi all, IDEA: open up Alfred, type in RTM hit tab and write down what you want to add to your to-do list in Remember the Milk. Hit enter and Alfred makes sure you get things done I made a workflow for just that. HOW: Alfred's query becomes the subject for an email send by Sparrow (see below, you can use it with Mail as well), which is sent to your personal Remember the Milk account. MAKE SURE TO ENTER THE EMAIL ADDRESS IN THE SCRIPT... Alterations to make it work with Mail (Standard in the workflow shared is Sparrow) 1. open up the workflow 2. open up the script 3. Change Sparrow to Mail 4. Change sendmessage to send 5. Save! That's it. Note that this is written for Remember the Milk, but really you can change it for, for example Producteev as well. All that this requires is that you make sure that the app and main email address that is sending the email is recognised as an email address in you Producteev list. I am sure, there are more productivity apps that make use of sending emails to add tasks, this might help you do it with nothing more than Alfred! Best of luck, Anna p.s. you can find the workflow on: www.AlfredWorkflow.com
  18. After downloading and installing the recent v2.2 of Alfred I cannot get Alfred to use the default email client (Lotus Notes) in my case. I worked for v2.0 however. What I do: - select a file in the finder - Use the file selection command - From the menu chose "Email" This automatically brings up the Apple Mail.app instead of IBM Notes (formerly lotus notes) which is my default mail client. Note the following: - using Alfred v2.0 + power pack until the upgrade this action worked fine and brought up IBM Notes attaching the file correctly - I've checked both in the Apple Mail.app and the client preferences are correctly set - For other applications (e.g. click to send email links in browsers) the IBM Notes client is started correctly. Only Alfred seems to be hardwired to the Apple Mail.app I hope this can be solved. It was so useful to have. Mac
  19. I've read through the contact-related topics, and don't think I've seen an issue exactly like mine (apologies if this is redundant). Contacts appear fine in Alfred 2 when searching directly for them, like so: http://puu.sh/6jN6k.png However, no such luck when using the email action: http://puu.sh/6jNbj.png This only seems to affect previously existing contacts. I created a new test contact directly from Address Book, and it was immediately available in Alfred. I'm running Alfred 2.1.1 and OSX 10.8.5. (It's worth noting that I've reset the system Contacts access settings and it seems Alfred has the necessary permissions). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  20. Hi I'm wondering if it's possible to create a simple workflow to do nothing more than search a folder on the Mac for email (i'm using Airmail and i suppose it's downloading whatever email to a folder on the harddrive?) There's a workflow lying around on the forums which is supposed to do a search. It does that by activating the actual app and do a search query but i can't get it to work. It's not the primary function of the workflow either. What i'd want is this; <keyword> <string> and Alfred would show me inline results of all emails including my search and if i hit enter Alfred would open that specific email or the complete conversation. Does it make sense? If you're even reading this, thanks a lot!
  21. I'm trying to make a workflow runs as a file action. It should take multiple files from the file buffer and attach them to an email, to be send to a predetermined address. I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me with the attachment part. This is what I have: set MyAttachments to the "{query}" tell application "Mail" activate set MyMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {subject:"Subject line goes here", content:"Body goes here", visible:true} tell MyMessage make new to recipient with properties {address:"Addres_goes_here@gmail.com"} repeat with EachAttachment in MyAttachments make new attachment with properties {file name:(EachAttachment as alias)} at after last paragraph of content end repeat save end tell end tell Thanks in advance for your help.
  22. I have the powerpack installed on two different Macs (an Air and a desktop) and email attachments dont work on either.. I just get an email message window with the right subject line and recipient but no attached file. This happens with files of all types.. 23. All -- I'm in search of a workflow that addresses a common use case for me. The situation is simple. I'm browsing the web and want to send a page I find to someone via email. What I'd like is to open a new Mail.app email window with a copy of the URL in the body of the message. Sounds so simple that I'm embarrassed I don't know how to build it myself yet. Thanks in advance for your help. -- Robert
  24. What? Lets you send emails to multiple persons, including CC. You can either use your default email client or web based gmail Download HERE (Current version 1.4) Changelog (May1, 2013: Updated version 1.4: You can now either use 'memail' to use your default client, or 'memailg' to send the mail via the web based version of Gmail) (Apr 30 2013: Updated version 1.3: Changed workflow to work even if your address book is stored in iCloud. Thanks to Kerry Dawson for patiently testing this) (Updated: version 1.2: Changed keyword to 'memail' to avoid confusion. Fixed bugs, allowed CC option. For CC, just hit "/" and all emails after that will be in cc) How? Alfred has an excellent "email" keyword that lets you enter names and it autocompletes them from your address book - and then you can send emails. However, it only supports sending emails to one id - you can't enter multiple names. Enter this workflow: You have two options - you can type in "memail" to send emails via your default email client or "memailg" to send emails via web based gmail. Type in "memail" or "memailg" and start entering the name - it will resolve via address book - then type a comma and keep entering more names. When done, select the action to send emails to all the ids. Basically, as you type names, you will see options in a list below - just scroll to the right name and hit tab to continue selecting more names (don't hit enter if you want to type more names, as typing enter means you are done). To copy the names to your clipboard instead of composing an email right away, hit Cmd+Enter at the end. Two keywords: (memail or memailg) The workflow will start searching your Contacts only after you enter at least 4 characters Example of matching entries: Example of multiple emails including CC (for CC hit / and continue with names) Feel free to extend it and if you do, please share back with me. Purchasing information Just kidding. It's free. But thanks for reading upto here.
  25. I use Spiceworks where I work to handle IT support tickets, often I want to quickly add a ticket to the system when somebody mentions a problem. I created this workflow to submit a simple ticket straight from Alfred rather than manually opening the web-interface or composing a new email. At the moment it uses an installed mail client to send the email but I'm planning proper API based integration soon. The script is configured to use Mail by default, if however (like me) you use Postbox; you will need to comment/uncomment a few lines (as documented in the script) You will also need to change the email address to your Spiceworks email Usage: ticket Ticket Summary + Ticket Description Download: http://j.mp/spicealfred Please let me have any feedback/suggestions/bugs. Martin
