  3. Thank you guys! With the great Alfred 3, I can open webpage, mailbox, search internet and do translate work in a smooth and quick way. Here is one function I would like to request - I only use Easyfind to search files on my mac. It would be very helpful if I type some words in Alfred and then showed a shortcut in fallback results which reads "Search on Easyfind". When clicked, it will run Easyfind and do search the search work. Sorry that I know only little about Workflow, but is there any possibility that it could be done with Alfred?

  5. Hey all, I have just published the Alfred Confluence workflow. The Alfred Confluence workflow let's you find and open Confluence pages and blog posts from Alfred. Once installed and set up, just type c <search terms> ('c' standing for Confluence). Download & Links: Latest Release: https://github.com/skleinei/alfred-confluence/releases/download/1.0.2/alfred-confluence.alfredworkflow Docs: https://github.com/skleinei/alfred-confluence Packal: http://www.packal.org/workflow/alfred-confluence-quick-search I've tested with Alfred 3 and on macOS Sierra. Hope you find it useful. Cheers, -Stefan
  6. This project is published on GitHub , the full document and download can be found here: https://github.com/MacHu-GWU/afwf_fts_anything-project fts.anything is an Alfred Workflow allow you to custom full-text search on your own dataset. You can easily define which fields you want to search, how you want the data to be matched and send the result to other workflow to process. Example: The Data Set (IMDB Top 3 movies, content of ``movie.json``): [ { "description": "Two imprisoned men bond over a number of years, finding solace and eventual redemption through acts of common decency.", "genres": "Drama", "movie_id": 1, "title": "The Shawshank Redemption" }, { "description": "The aging patriarch of an organized crime dynasty transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son.", "genres": "Crime,Drama", "movie_id": 2, "title": "The Godfather" }, { "description": "The early life and career of Vito Corleone in 1920s New York City is portrayed, while his son, Michael, expands and tightens his grip on the family crime syndicate.", "genres": "Crime,Drama", "movie_id": 3, "title": "The Godfather: Part II" } ] Search Setting (content of ``movie-setting.json``): { "columns": [ // define search mode for each field { "name": "movie_id", "type_is_store": true }, { "name": "title", "ngram_maxsize": 10, "ngram_minsize": 2, "type_is_ngram": true }, { "name": "description", "type_is_phrase": true }, { "keyword_lowercase": true, "name": "genres", "type_is_keyword": true } ], "title_field": "title", // title on Alfred drop down menu "subtitle_field": "description", // subtitle on Alfred drop down menu "arg_field": "movie_id", // argument for other workflow component "autocomplete_field": "{movie_id} - {title}", // tab auto complete behavior "icon_field": "/Users/<username>/.alfred-fts/movie-icon.png" }
  7. Long time power pack owner. Can't believe I'm just now running into this... When I type in a query that isn't found locally, Alfred automatically searches Google. I've decided to stop using Google in favor of DuckDuckGo. How can I change the default so that I don't have to type "duck" every time I search the web?
  8. Is it possible to create a file filter that operates as if each word in a query has a wildcard in front of it? For example, let's say I have a file filter set up as follows: (1) Keyword is "pdf", (2) File Types set to PDFs, and (3) Search Scope set to ~/Documents/SmallFolder. Is it possible to change the file filter's Advanced settings so that the following Alfred search: pdf SearchTerm1 SearchTerm2 SearchTerm3 approximates the following input: pdf *SearchTerm1 *SearchTerm2 *SearchTerm3 In other words, when using a specific file filter, I'd like to avoid having to manually type a hyphen in front of each search term. I understand why you wouldn't want this to be the default behavior in Alfred, but I was hoping to create some file filters that work in this manner (on small folders, etc., so that they're not too system-intensive). @deanishe has a nice fuzzy folder search, which is robust enough to do a lot of the same things, but I was just wondering how to mimic the wildcard search described above. I've never quite understood how many of the options in the File Filter's Advanced tab work (beyond simply adding more Metadata Files that are not included by default), and I was hoping there was a way to change these settings to achieve what I've described above. Initially, I thought that (1) unchecking the "words" column, and (2) unchecking the "Anchor searches which are not word based" would have the same effect. However, I'm not receiving the same result as when I use wildcards. Thanks for any help you can lend!
  9. I bought Alfred 3 powerback. I have 1250 snippets that used to run on Windows software called ShortKeys. I exported my snippets as text file (only option). i could not bring to Alfred 3. There is no way to import them to Alfred 3 from text file. I will put all of them in one snippet as text. I will just search a keyword when i need info about something. However, there is no option to search within snippet. We really want the ability to search inside snippet for keywords. In my case, i have 6k lines notes in text. I will create a snippet and paste those notes. Then, when i need something, i will open this specific snippet and search inside it. Please, Please add this feature.
  10. It would be great if we could specify a tag / CSS path to display results within Alfred itself. IE. "so node open file" https://stackoverflow.com/search?q=node+open+file would return (below, similar to spotlight) the results from the stack overflow query... at least the first 5 or 6 or something. So a search result would be: ".js-search-result h3 a" And the link would be: ".js-search-result h3 a" (it would take the href) Clearly that wouldn't work on all sights, but it would be easy enough to return actual results to Alfred and would allow faster access to the exact result the user wants .
  11. I'm new to Alfred and already loving it. I'm working a lot with tags for my files and use hazel to auto-tag my scanned office papers. Using filesearch with tags works fine. But I want to narrow down the result with just adding a part of the filename. That's weired because alfred switches to search google now ... Am I missing something? e. g. "tags invoice %customer name% where 'invoice is my tag and %customer name% the variable for the actual customer I'm searching for

  13. Hi, How can I call up the iCloud Drive? For example, if I type in `dropbox` in Alfred, the search results will include `~/Dropbox`. I would like a search for `icloud drive` to return a result for `~/Library/Mobile Documents` (afaik that is where the iCloud Drive is located). Thanks
  14. I'd like to be able to drag a file from, say, the finder onto an alfred app search result to open the file with this app. It was something I was using on quicksilver and missed on alfred from day 1 (I use alfred since 2013) and somehow never suggested the feature, probably because I was way too certain than it'd be implemented at some point.
  15. Is it possible to set the search to include individual notes of the default Mac Notes application? Or is it a PowerPack feature (I use the free version now, but I am considering the PowerPack)? Something that Siri does, but I do not feel like moving over to Siri, I am way too much used to Alfred by now (and like it..:-).
  16. I've gone through all of the recommended steps multiple times, including reindexing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Still the only results that return are top level folders (~/Documents), contacts, and system preference panes. When reindexing, I get to the point where it says "Press any key to close Terminal and continue..." I press a key, and it seems to finish in seconds. What's going on?
  17. So I have almost all of the web searches disabled so I'm assuming this is a fallback, but is there a way to disable the "Search Google/Amazon/Wikipedia for [term]" when typing? I always misspell something and without thinking I press enter and it opens a web browser. I would like it if just no results would show up. Is there a way to do this?
  18. Hi everyone! A few Alfred starter questions. It's going to be quite a long list, as the more I use this wonderful software, the more eager I get to explore its capabilities. 1. Text expansion: do you folks prefer to use macOS's text replacement feature or Alfred's snippets? Alfred's offering is superior, of course, but macOS text replacements can be synced to mobile iOS devices, which is very compelling. 2. We all know macOS's open and save dialogs are a nightmare, especially after you're used to efficient keyboard navigation with Alfred. Is there ANY way whatsoever to apply Alfred's basic File Search capabilities to the open and save panels? If not, is there any other software that can offer this? 3. I would like to know if there is a way to perform a more intelligent file search (I believe this is also called "fuzzy" search, correct me if I'm wrong) in Alfred. For example, let's say I have the following directory: I expect Alfred to find the folder "Red" only if I type a partial string like "do cha re". Similarly, if I type something such as "do cha bl en", ideally Alfed would find "Engine.jpg" inside "/Blue". Launch Bar behaves like this and it works very well! It would be amazing if Alfred would do the same. 4. Is a difference between pressing `⌘+C` (copying) and hitting `↵` (selecting) on an item from the clipboard history? 5. I noticed that when interacting (whether copying or selecting) with a clipboard item, that item jumps to the top of the list. Is there any way to disable that? 6. Is it possible to activate Quick Look on clipboard items? 7. Is it possible to open the File Action menu for items in the clipboard history? Some of the clipboard items are files for all intents and purposes, so making them compatible with File Actions is almost a no-brainer. And I can definitely imagine various File Actions for other clipboard items that are not "files" per se, such as copied images and texts (like Imgur uploading for the former, and creating a new note in Notes for the latter). Thank you very much!
  19. Good Day! Maybe this issue has been already raised here, but I still can't get, why I have no ability to change my web search engines. Alfred offers us only choosing the country, we live in, and it will adjust search engines by itself. But his choice doesn't satisfy me. Alfred still uses Google, Amazon and Wikipedia. I use NOTHING of these. I prefer Yandex services, that are very popular in Russia. So, it would be extremely convenient, if I had an ability (working the same as Alfred's general "Web Search" feature) to set my own web search engines. Maybe, I want five or only two prime resources. Maybe I need specific professional ones like stackoverflow.com or kinopoisk.ru. Why don't you have implemented this at the beginning of Alfred? Or I don't know something? Explain, please. Thanks in advance!
  20. Hello! Can Alfred search when entering something with wrong keyboard layout? For example i have Russian keyboard and can start typing "Ьшскщыщае" which is actually "Microsoft", i just forgot to change language. I would expect it to find any app named "Ьшскщыщае" first AND any app named "Microsoft" second. I know about forced keyboard but it is not exactly the same.
  21. How do I tell Alfred to look for a file in my 'Library' folder? There's a template for an app I'd like it to see but it resides in user---library---application support---app name Thanks
  22. Hi everyone, Just starting to play with Alfred Workflows a little bit and I find it amazing! I created a very simple workflow to launch a youtube search, so that instead of : finding Chrome Cmd + T Entering youtube.com Waiting for page to load Click in the search input field Type in your search Enter Wait for the page to load It becomes : Ctrl + Space Type in yt your search Enter Wait for the page to load I timed it and it now takes me 5seconds from the moment I want to search for something to the moment I have the search results displayed, compared to 30sec before.. depending of how many times a day you research something on youtube, it adds up to a few minutes gained every day Hope you guys enjoy it. You can download the workflow here : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6iNJEvkpFeedlg5UVV0OGZGV1k Note : I know this is a very (very) simple workflow, but I searched the forum and couldn't find anything, so may be it can help someone out some day. Mehdi
  23. I use the default Search Google for '{query}' web search feature, but it frequently does not work. This situation starts to happens after I update to Alfred 3 and maybe update OSX recently. I'm using the latest Alfred, Alfred 3.6 Build 903, Wednesday 14th February 2018 My OSX version is 10.13.3 I'm sorry I cannot provide screenshots, because it's just you type 'go query' and then flashes and nothing happened, what strange is that if I type the query the 2nd time, then it usually works at the 2nd time, but I definitely don't want to type every query twice. I'm new to this forum, point out any place that I need to make improvements on bug reporting. (Say, I'm not sure if I post to the right place)
  24. Hi everyone. I have a collection of custom web searches that I would like to execute using a hyperlink. This way I have a clickable solution to run it when presented with a reminder or am reviewing my notes. I could create a workflow with an external trigger, but it feels like a lot of added overhead to build and maintain for a simple mechanism. Is there a mechanism to trigger a specific Alfred custom web search via a hyperlink? e.g. "alfred://websearch (You need to check this today)"
  25. Hi, I created a custom search to show all gmail messages with a specific label, which works well (https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#label/{query}) However, I would like Alfred to suggest labels based on a custom list (e.g. a text file with all the labels). In other words, I would like to 1) type the keyword, 2) type space, 3) type the first letter of a label and have Alfred suggest all the labels beginning with that letter, so that I can select and send the {query} string. Is there a similar workflow I can edit, or would anyone have pointers on how to accomplish this? Thanks! Giovanni
