  1. Hey guys, I'm wondering if there is a way to setup the search location if the hot key is triggered to the screen of the "current active window". If there are some screens connected to my Macbook, the search only appears at the notebook screen, even if I work on the extra monitor. FYI: Spotlight does it the way I want Alfred to do it, so I'm pretty sure if this feature is available for now, I can be achievable in future Best, Stefan
  2. With High Sierra running I am unable to search from the Alfred box. Google searches simply take me to the Chrome browser "home" page, offering me the Google search box. I have deleted and reinstalled Alfred 3 with no diff.
  3. Hi there, A while ago, I changed a setting somewhere to disable the auto-highlighting of top result in alfred search window. Now I want it back but couldn't find it anywhere. Any help?
  4. Hi! I want to copy a string like "§ABC §DEFGH §Test" into my clipboard and want to paste it like "ABC, DEFGH, Test" at another place. Can someone help me how to solve this? thank you
  5. Hi all, so I want to make custom search for multiple argument and I need help. I use Alfred v3 with powerpack, doesn't have many experience with programming. The argument is for example: search keyword minimum price condition (used or new) So when I type keyword and the argument separated by comma it will search to several website that I have registered. Example: User input aaa, bbb, ccc Will search: website1.com/xxx=aaa&yyy=bbb&zzz=ccc website2.com/xxx=bbb&yyy=aaa&zzz=ccc website1.com/xxx=ccc
  6. Hi. Since updating to OSX 10.13, I have noticed changes in the way alfred displays files located using the 'find' command. To note: I did not update my OS. I reinstalled from scratch. For example, let's say i am looking for my resume. I type 'Find resume'. I would think that alfred would display the most recently modified file first, or at least the files with more updates. Prior to updating my OS, 'find resume', would immediately display my 2017 resume. Now, my results are cluttered with random files with the name resume that. How can I improve the validity of
  7. I recently updated to Alfred 3.5.1 (Build 883, Wednesday 18th October 2017), and to MacOS High Sierra (10.13.1). It appears the search feature linking Alfred to Spotlight doesn't work as before: I frequently refer to a directory doc (in Macintosh HD/Users/MyUserLogin/some_directory/doc). It used to appear on top of my Alfred Search (Alt-Space, Space), but it no longer appears anywhere in the list which I'm presented. However, Spotlight does show that directory in its own list. I did Clear the Application Cache and Rebuild macos Metadata, making sure I checked "Delete ./Spotligh
  8. Hi guys, is there any way to only search for contacts if you for instance type "c" first (or any prefix). Like "c john smith" would give me the contact viewer with john smith, while just "john smith" would simply launch the browser/search engine? (I don't want to enable "contacts" in default search results, because it would clog up the results, but I would also like the built-in contacts handlers).
  9. How can I accomplish this? Folder A contains folder B. Folder B is pretty important to me in general but contains a ton of subfolders and documents that flood my search results. If I add folder A to my scope, everything from folder B floods my search results. If I remove folder A, I can't find folder B.
  10. # SafariHistorySearch Alfred workflow to search Safari history written in swift. #Usage `shs <SEARCH_TERMS>` Separate search terms with spaces if you want to search for more than one word. ie: `shs github safari` Each word is searched separately. If you want to search for a phrase, surround the phrase with double quotes, ie: `shs "Alfred Workflow to Search Safari History"` The results contain all search terms. This workflow searches the page url, page title and page body if available. see https://github.com/akaralar/SafariHistorySearch/releases for latest version.
  11. Keywords: Open each of the three different Library folders by keywords: library system (open a Finder window @ /System/Library/) library hd (open a Finder window @ /Macintosh HD/Library/) library user (open a Finder window @ ~/Library/) library visible (make library folders visible in Finder) library hidden (hide library folders in Finder) appsup hd (open a Finder window @ ( /Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/) appsup user (open a Finder window @ ~/Library/Application Support/) If you would like to use keyboard short
  12. Is it possible to search for files by date created or date modified? For example, I'd like to find all the files created on the 28th of April.
  13. With the addition of the "Web Bookmarks" feature now Alfred indexes Chrome Bookmarks, but it ignores bookmarklets (probably intended). However it would be very useful to me if I could actually search and trigger those excluded bookmarklets from Alfred, ideally in the frontmost browser. I know about some workflows approaching this (AlfredBookmarklet and Bookmarklets) but they requiere me to clone my (currently 50+) bookmarklets list, and AFAIK there's none backup/sync option from there. I would appreciate the extra commodity to do this from Alfred natively. Thank you, cheers! Davi
  14. For some reason Alfred (v3.3.2) can't find Xcode on my macOS Sierra MBP (10.12.5). I installed Xcode normally via the App Store to /Applications. I also tried to reset the Alfred search scopes, but that didn't help. As far as I can tell, Xcode is the only application that Alfred can't find (aside from the other developer tools in /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Applications)
  15. I've become a convert to the use of tags in macOS as a way of organizing files. I'm moving away from storing my files in folders and sub-folders since there's really no need when it's faster to use Alfred just to search for it. So I'm trying to build a simple search workflow that will allow me to search for files and folders by tag, but allow me to refine my search by adding more search terms. If i'm searching my PDFs for files tagged "javascript", say, I'd like to go be able to add more tags to narrow the search. It's not so bad when there are only ten files with the tag, but when yo have
  16. I almost didn't post this as a bug, because I'll leave it to Alfred's parents to decide. It's quite possible a "behavior subtlety" which has "evolved." But on the chance it was an unintended change: Build 875, Monday 25th September 2017, although this seems to have been a behavior since the new bookmark search behavior instead of something peculiar to this build. I'm still holding off on installing High Sierra until we get the all-clear with Adobe Illustrator and a few production tools. So this is in the current Sierra. For a long time I've orga

  19. The initial motive is to automatically use current front browser's site for site search. Current it includes google suggestion, instant search, site search and related search. Suggestions are welcome. Check it out in Github: http://zhaocai.github.com/alfred2-google-workflow/ It is also an example to use bundler to include gems in an alfred workflow. The command is bundle install --standalone. Usage 1. Search Suggestion Keyword g: provide google search suggestions based on {query}. 2. Instant Search Keyword gi: get instant google search results in Alfred based on {query}.
  20. tl;dr: A new Alfred workflow to launch Zapier workflows from your keyboard. Ever wanted a quicker way to add data to your web apps? Say you get an email from a potential customer, and you want to add them as a new lead to your CRM. You have to copy their email address, open your CRM app in your browser, find your Lead page, open the Add Lead page, and finally paste in the info. Or if you wanted to find more details about a contact—perhaps to see what products they've bought from your store, or their last email to your support team, or the notes you wrote abo
  21. Cribbing from my comment here, I'd love for search in Snippets preferences allow for even greater search sophistication, not just the present 'search whole string as entered' behaviour. At present, if I have a snippet with the contents Thanks for writing!, I can find it in Snippets preferences by searching Thanks for but not Thanks writing. I've got a lot of long letter-y bits in my Alfred snippets, and this behaviour (implicit-Boolean-AND-between-terms, rather than the current string-in-inverted-commas verbatim approach) would help me more easily find the particular snippet I'm looking for (o
  22. Hi, I'm trying to move from TextExpander to Alfred Snippets and so far things are going pretty well. BUT, am I correct that when searching Snippets, Alfred is only looking at the name of the snippet and the keyword? As opposed to the actual snippet itself. It sure would be handy if the snippet text itself was also searched. Thanks!
  23. After a short discussion in this thread (with @PopSquirrel) I decided to create a workflow that allows me to use custom actions (i.e. any workflow actions) on files and folders. The intention is to replace the settings that can be made under Advanced > Action Modifiers. I've included the full HOW TO USE below. Download TEMPLATE - File Search with Custom Actions from my GitHub Note: This workflow doesn't do anything "out of the box". It's a template that you can use to create your own customised actions. Examples of usage: Call a File Action workflow with
  24. When I search for known files in Alfred, it fails to find them, as you can see in this image comparing Alfred's results with the Finder's results of a search for "yoga". The movies exist on an external drive, called /Volumes/2TB\ SSD\ encrypted/ I have added this volume to the Alfred preferences to be searched. I have reindexed the drive with the movies that Alfred does not see. What is going on? Thanks
  25. A workflow to search Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. https://github.com/o3jvind/Search-Social-Media It'll open a window where you can choose in which area to search for your query. You can select one or as many as you want with "CMD or SHIFT" And they'll will open in different tabs of your favourite browser. HAPPY SEARCHING
