1. Hi there! I wanted to ask if there is a way, with a button shortcut to have a file open in Photoshop? For example, I have jpegs automatically open in Photoshop by default through my Mac SysPrefs... but I still have pngs open in Preview. Is there a way to have a button to have it "open in... application" or just "open in Photoshop" as an option, like how we can press Shift or CMD to preview or open the file location? Thanks!
 2. Hello everyone, currently when I navigate through my Folders i usually tend to speed the process up by typing the folder name. When I'm within a folder and wanna select a certain file, i usually type a part of that particular file name. With numbers this works perfectly shown in the following example: Test Files: Search: As you see even tho the name is "11_12" i yet can search via "1112" which is awesome. Fuzzy works in this case. However here is the same with a string, which doesn’t work: What work however is when you add a wildcard like "*": I would love to see an option to add fuzzy search for strings too, as it’s a pain when you jump back several times to a folder by using Alfreds "Previous Path" function and you have to add "*" again. Sadly Alfred doesn’t save the previous Filter you used. Cheers, Frozen
 3. This workflow allows you to do inline Google searches right from the Alfred bar. You can either open the result URL or copy it to clipboard. Please go to GitHub for documentation. 4. I noticed this: https://github.com/dbader/alfred-countdown-timer but after searching for a few min I still couldn't find one for Alfred 3. Does anyone know of one?
 5. * What you were doing when the issue happened I was using the Dash app workflow to search some CSS API, and suddenly alfred pop alert window says when I try to use any workflow again it alert this window again, and I found all of my settings and workflow were lost T_T。。。 * Whether you were able to replicate it a second time by performing the same action I have met this issue a few days ago, after I set sync folder, it's my first time to use the sync folder, and I didn't use alfred on other devices。 I don't know if is the syncing caused the problem. Last time I met the problem I reinstall all my workflows (really annoying), and now I met it again * Include any screenshots that might help us * Include the Alfred version & build number you are using Alfred 3.2 (Build 759, Tuesday 8th November 2016) * Include your OS X version macOS Sierra V 10.12.1 (16B2555)
 6. I noticed initially that I was unable to open certain Applications from Alfred. I refreshed the Application cache and rebuilt OS X Metadata from Alfred preferences to see if that would solve the problem but then was unable to locate any Applications at all. I was forced to include the Application folder within the search scope in order to find applications at all which I didn't have to do in the past. Unfortunately, this is far from ideal because this also throws in non-Application files from Application folders (ie: Adobe app folders) and convolutes my searches. Note: I am running Alfred 3 and I did upgrade to El Capitan a month back. No plans to upgrade to Sierra until I can make sure all my work & productivity apps work fine.
 7. Hello everyone, since I am using Alfred to navigate on a server drive at work, I end up with a glitching Alfred when the preview of a file takes longer to work and I call Alfred again. However this only happens when used "above" Parallels, well for now. This could be due to heavier graphic usage I guess. Here is a screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/MwNbu I have pre set paths for the server to open them, as i cannot get spotlight to index them. Basically what i do is call that path and then there is a file. The little preview on the side is loading and I call Alfred again. This doesn't happen always tho. Cheers, Marcel Reuß
 8. Hello everyone, currently I'm bringing my Mac to work and will continue as its a huge pain in the ass to work with windows(idk how everyone can overall). Like productivity especially with Alfred and Keyboard Maestro(which i bought and use heavily cause of you guys) goes beyond anything else. Well i use parallels in coherence mode but that's it and only for office tools. Anyway to the topic. At work we have a Server with a bunch of folders which have strict permissions. I got access there and wanted to index the Folder right away. However i failed miserably. Like i tried things like this here: https://jonathansblog.co.uk/how-to-enable-spotlight-indexing-on-a-network-drive and this here: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/24401/spotlight-reports-indexing-and-searching-disabled-in-lion Nothing of this seems to work as i don't have access to everything. I couldn't even make a File Filter as that relies on Spotlight. My current "workaround" is to use Launchbar aside of Alfred, because it can index on its own. Is there any way to force spotlight to index a special folder on a server? Or is there a way to feed Alfred with an index or let it make its own :/ Another workaround that i use in combo with Launchbar is, that i use a "List Filter" with all the main paths that then let me open the paths in the file view of Alfred. But yeah i can't filter the way i would like, as that doesn't provide any subfolder search uff. As I'm typing however I see that snippets still have expanding issues :/ as a "don't" becomes a " don't". Well I hope that someone knows a workaround/fix or idk. Launchbar is a way for the moment but I'm only on the test Version asking me to buy it every view actions lol. Buying it just for this meh....<.< >.> Alfred is faster tho and not that heavy resources wise. Cheers everyone, FroZen
 9. Hi all, I want to make easy maintainable workflow for bookmarks. And I do not want to rely on browsers bookmarks. So my question: is it possible to make in Alfred 3 chain of keyboard inputs, so it will look/work as a single keyboard input? Now I have a lot of keyboard inputs, which triggers open address action. [

<key>] - (<open address>). I want to achieve the same functionality with 3 chained inputs: [
] - [<category1>] - [<key1>] - (<open address 1>) - [<key2>] - (<open address 2>) - [<category2>] - [<key3>] - (<open address 3>) Example: "a jira team1" "a jenkins team2" Where "a" - is a sction key, "jira"/"jenkins" - category, "team1"/"team2" - key. Alfred 3 supports chained inputs, but it do not show next possible inputs after first one. Or I was not able to set it right.
 10. Hi, I'm using Alfred 3's Script Filter + JSON format to return a list. However, I found that despite I output a static ordered list, the ordering that display on Alfred is dynamic. That is, Alfred seems to alter the ordering. It looks like Alfred tend to put the most recent used item to the top. I'm wondering if there is any way to configure this behavior or turn it off? Thanks.
 11. In Alfred 2, a small gear appeared in the top right corner of the pop up window that would open Alfred Preferences. The gear is gone in Alfred 3. I’ve never heard of (or used) Command + to open an app's preferences, but following those directions on another post here, I tried it. Failed again. How do I access Alfred Preferences in version 3?
 12. I have a few Slack snippets set up to automatically expand when I type the keyword. I like to use these shortcuts in Slack, however some of these trigger the "New snippet" dialog box in Slack, and others do not. For instance, the "-->" shortcut will trigger the "New snippet" box, but not the "<--" shortcut. See this screen capture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1p683hcb371090z/alfred-slack-01.mov?dl=0 The "" shortcut also triggers it. The Slack documentation says the keyboard shortcut for "New snippet" is CMD + ENTER (on Mac). Could Alfred be triggering this through a hidden keyboard command? I'm using Alfred 3.1 (build 671) on Mac OS X 10.11.5. Slack version is 2.0.2.
 13. This is a simple workflow for quick full text search inside current pathfinder folder. It can: filter files in your current pathfinder folder full text search in your folder THERE IS NO FINDER SUPPORT - I don't use it and Im too lazy to add it - if you want you can add it yourself github download dependency - http://geoff.greer.fm/ag/speed/ Search Options: -a --all-types Search all files (doesn't include hidden files or patterns from ignore files) -D --debug Ridiculous debugging (probably not useful) --depth NUM Search up to NUM directories deep (Default: 25) -f --follow Follow symlinks -F --fixed-strings Alias for --literal for compatibility with grep -G --file-search-regex PATTERN Limit search to filenames matching PATTERN --hidden Search hidden files (obeys .*ignore files) -i --ignore-case Match case insensitively --ignore PATTERN Ignore files/directories matching PATTERN (literal file/directory names also allowed) --ignore-dir NAME Alias for --ignore for compatibility with ack. -m --max-count NUM Skip the rest of a file after NUM matches (Default: 10,000) --one-device Don't follow links to other devices. -p --path-to-agignore STRING Use .agignore file at STRING -Q --literal Don't parse PATTERN as a regular expression -s --case-sensitive Match case sensitively -S --smart-case Match case insensitively unless PATTERN contains uppercase characters (Enabled by default) --search-binary Search binary files for matches -t --all-text Search all text files (doesn't include hidden files) -u --unrestricted Search all files (ignore .agignore, .gitignore, etc.; searches binary and hidden files as well) -U --skip-vcs-ignores Ignore VCS ignore files (.gitignore, .hgignore, .svnignore; still obey .agignore) -v --invert-match -w --word-regexp Only match whole words -z --search-zip Search contents of compressed (e.g., gzip) files File Types: The search can be restricted to certain types of files. Example: ag --html needle - Searches for 'needle' in files with suffix .htm, .html, .shtml or .xhtml.
 14. A workflow for quick adding new tasks into selected OmniFocus project. Preview: It can: Filter tasks inside project Add new tasks with notes and clipboard content Run terminal command after your task is finished (mostly for git or whatever) Open note links (all at once) (discontinued in version 2) Copy note Delete tasks Quickly open tasks in omnifocus (discontinued in version 2) Complete tasks - version 2 - Work with completed tasks Search tasks and projects (both completed and uncompleted) in of database Change project selection Complete projects Flag unflag tasks and projects Added basic fantastical 2 support (disabled by default) Workflow now reopens itself with appleScript - Application('Alfred 3').runTrigger('sidekick',{inWorkflow:'com.sidekick.modi',withArgument:mode}); github download Version 2 works using omnifocus cached database - It is much faster than using applescript. I work with appstore omnifocus - so there is appstore cache folder set by default in the settings - https://www.dropbox.com/s/q1lbjwozpn84sh3/2016-10-09 18.09.46.gif?dl=0 - If you use non appstore version you should change db variable in the settings to ~/Library/Containers/com.omnigroup.OmniFocus2/Data/Library/Caches/com.omnigroup.OmniFocus2/OmniFocusDatabase2 to run terminal commands you need to add your script into the project description surrounded with | - for example |open http://www.alfredforum.com/|- will open alfred forum after every task you finish. use $1 to access task title and $2 to get task note This workflow is not 100% ready yet - there are a lot of things I'm planing to add: add new tasks (when started and finished) into calendar with link to the omnifocus task Timing app support (get start finish date and generate report what exactly I was doing during the task) finder/pathfinder support (add selected files with @2) chrome/safari support (add tabs urls with @3) automatically change settings when user opens workflow first time (in case user has not appstore version or does not have any third party apps) edit tasks inside alfred (do not know if it is usefull) change task parents creating new projects inside sidekick If you have any ideas how I can make this workflow better I will be glad to implement them
 15. I was wondering if there's a way to do a search for files by file extension, possibly by using the Json Config utility in Alfred 3, kind of like the search in specific folders workflow that comes with Alfred 3 (I'd input the file extension, and only files of that type would show in the search).
 16. Secure SHell for Alfred 3 Open SSH/SFTP/mosh connections from Alfred with autosuggestions based on SSH config files, /etc/hosts and your history. Features Auto-suggest hostnames from ~/.ssh/* and /etc/hosts (sources can be individually disabled). Remembers usernames, so you don't have to type them in every time. (You can also remove connections from your history or disable it entirely.) Alternate actions: - Open connection with mosh instead of SSH. - Open SFTP connection instead of SSH. - Ping host. Data sources The workflow reads hosts from the following sources (in this order of priority): ~/.ssh/config History (i.e. username + host addresses previously entered by the user) ~/.ssh/known_hosts /etc/hosts /etc/ssh/ssh_config Installation Download from Packal or GitHub releases and double-click the file to install in Alfred. Source code is on GitHub. Usage Keyword is ssh: ssh [<query>] — View and filter known SSH connections. - ↩ or ⌘+<NUM> — Open the connection. - ⇥ — Expand query to selected connection's title. Useful for adding a port number. - ⌘+↩ — Open an SFTP connection instead. - ⌘+⌥ — Open a mosh connection instead. - ⇧+↩ — Ping host. - ^+↩ — Forget connection (if it's from history). Configuration There are several options available in the workflow's configuration sheet. Notably, you can turn off individual autosuggestion sources. Please see the GitHub README for details. Please note: The workflow generates an ssh:// (or sftp://) URL and asks Alfred to open it. Similarly, the ping and mosh features uses Alfred 3's Terminal Command feature. If it's not opening in the right app, it's not the workflow's fault. Licencing & thanks This workflow is released under the MIT Licence. It uses the following libraries and resources: The icon is based on Octicons by Github (SIL Licence). ssh_config (MIT Licence) to parse SSH config files. awgo (MIT Licence) for the workflowy stuff. This workflow started as a port of @isometry's Python SSH workflow to Go as a testbed for awgo. It has since gained some additional features. If you need Alfred 2 support, check out @isometry's workflow. Changelog v0.6.0 — 2016-11-09 - Add in-workflow updates v0.5.0 — 2016-10-31 - Add support for SSH configuration files (~/.ssh/config and /etc/ssh/ssh_config) - Alternate action: open connection with mosh v0.4.0 — 2016-05-27 - Add ability to turn sources of suggestions off #1 v0.3.0 — 2016-05-26 - Alternate action: Open SFTP connection - Alternate action: Ping host - Remember connections with usernames, so you don't have to type the username each time v0.2.0 — 2016-05-23 - First public release
 17. What you were doing when the issue happenedI was trying to "Add iOS Remote" and an alert popped up in the Alfred settings pane. It says ""Alfred Remote Server needs to be running to add a new iOS Remote. Tick the "Enable Alfred Remote Server" checkbox to start Alfred Remote Server."" I notice that the message said "Tick", I wasn't sure if this was the right word for this action to fix the problem so this is why I am reporting it. Is it supposed to say "Click" instead of "Tick"? Whether you were able to replicate it a second time by performing the same actionYes, click Remote> Un-check the "Enable Alfred Remote Server" checkbox (if Enabled)> Add iOS Remote Include any screenshots that might help us Include the Alfred version & build number you are usingv3.0 [648] Include your OS X version 10.11.5 (15F34) Thanks
 18. One of new Alfred 3 elements is Write Text File. Let say I want to use it in some more complicated workflow that prints some text to the file and then is invoked in other part of the workflow. My question is, how can I refer to that file later? How to properly use Write Text File element? I know there is option to give absolute file path as well as writing to workflow's folder that is synched. But I want to know, what's the best method to use such file when it is saved to workflow's data folder (not synched, local)? I know there was a script for Alfred 2 to find such folder but it was quite long. Is there any easier methods in Alfred 3 to find that data folder and saved there mentioned text file? Maybe some variable?
 19. I have a weird problem with my workflow. It does not show any results in Alfred but works when run from Terminal. But let me explain more on that topic. My workflow's job is to list Polish cities from webpage (get the list from JSON results from page) and download detailed weather forecast as png file. The main script is written in Python. The thing is, Polish cites also uses diacritical letters (ą, ć, ę, ł, ń, ó, ś, ź, ż). And when I want to use my workflow with city that contain one or more of mentioned letters – say
Gdańsk
the workflow itself won't work – just shows the result prepared for situation when no results find. However, when I debug the script from Terminal: python script.py "Gdańsk" I got all of the XML code for results: <items>
<arg>http://m.meteo.pl/warszawa/weather;Warszawa</arg>
Ostatni → Warszawa

Prognoza 60h. Wciśnij Cmd dla prognozy 84h.

Prognoza 84h.

<arg>http://m.meteo.pl/gdansk/weather;Gdańsk</arg>
Gdańsk

Prognoza 60h. Wciśnij Cmd dla prognozy 84h.

Prognoza 84h.

<arg>http://m.meteo.pl/nowy-dwor-gdanski/weather;Nowy Dwór Gdański</arg>
Nowy Dwór Gdański

Prognoza 60h. Wciśnij Cmd dla prognozy 84h.

Prognoza 84h.

<arg>http://m.meteo.pl/pruszcz-gdanski/weather;Pruszcz Gdański</arg>
Pruszcz Gdański

Prognoza 60h. Wciśnij Cmd dla prognozy 84h.

Prognoza 84h.

<arg>http://m.meteo.pl/starogard-gdanski/weather;Starogard Gdański</arg>
Starogard Gdański

Prognoza 60h. Wciśnij Cmd dla prognozy 84h.

Prognoza 84h.

</items> Notice that first item group is previously used city. But all the other show results with name "Gdańsk". And that is behavior, when the option in Script Filter – Alfred filters results is unchecked. When I check that, all seems to work fine. So why am I bothering you at all? Because I rather want to uncheck that option – it affects situations when I want to not display any results (in some cases). So I want to ask you for help with that problem. Maybe there is some encoding problem in Alfred 3 itself? The workflow can be downloaded here. Just copy and paste "Gdańsk" to debug it.
 20. I updated to Alfred 3 and now I cannot connect to the server via the Alfred Remote iOS app. iOS version info: 9.3.2 OS X version info: ProductName: Mac OS X ProductVersion: 10.11.5 BuildVersion: 15F34 Alfred 3 version info: v3.0 [652] My server shows up in the remote app when I click the ‘Add iOS Remote’ button in Alfred 3’s preferences, however, then it just sits at ‘Connecting…’ in Alfred Remote, and ‘Waiting for Alfred Remote…’ in Alfred 3. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps on both iOS and OS X. I tried removing the server and re-adding it. I tried disabling and re-enabling the server and restarting the server. I get the same results no matter what. If Alfred Remote does not work with Alfred 3, you should have given a warning that the remote app will break before prompting to upgrade.
 21. Hi, I'm excited to see Alfred 3 out. However before upgrading, I wonder whether it's completely backward compatible with custom workflows. Has anyone seen problem with any workflows after upgrading to v3? Thanks, Cao
 22. When you hover over the background, you get help text that says "Hold ⌘ to set fonts individually." But when you hover over the theme elements in font mode, it very much implies that you'll be changing only that element. I almost posted a bug report before I saw the generic help text. Possible solutions: Include "Hold ⌘" prompt in all help text, not only when the mouse cursor isn't hovering over a text element Change help text when hovering over text element to say "All fonts", and only name the element (e.g. "Result Subtext Font") when actually holding ⌘
 23. I too am having an issue with snippets. Initially, after installing Alfred 3 this morning (loving it btw), I was not able to get snippets to work at all, even after allowing accessibility to the Text Service. HOWEVER, after quitting Alfred and starting the app again, the snippets are at least being recognized. If I type a keyword, the text is properly detected and removed, but nothing is put in its place, it simply disappears. THIS functionality is happening in all my other applications so it doesn't seem to be app specific either. Also, sometimes, but not always, an error sound plays after the replacement. This happens in the URL bar for instance, but not in this forum form for some reason Any help would be greatly appreciated! http://screencast.com/t/LZ4skGs2V7
 24. I have enabled Alfred 3's accessibility in System Preferences, I have "Automatically Expand Snippets by Keyword" checked in Alfred's preferences, and I have several snippets defined with "Autoexpand" selected for those snippets. They don't autoexpand. They still work with the "snip" keyword, but they don't expand on their own in Textedit or in Notes. I am sad.
 25. Should Alfred Remote work with the new Alfred 3?
