  1. Does anyone know how would I go about passing the contents of the clipboard created in an Alfred workflow to another app, such as Keyboard Maestro? The last step of my Alfred workflow calls my Keyboard Maestro macro (via AppleScript), but nothing happens. I'm either not passing the clipboard correctly, or I'm not calling Keyboard Maestro correctly. (Basically, what I'm trying to do is search for a contact via Alfred, and then pass the email address of the contact over to a Keyboard Maestro workflow to apply some regex to it to convert it to a URL, which is then opened). I've uploaded a screenshot of my workflow, along with the details of the 2nd and 4th steps. (Please ignore the Placeholder title, subtext, etc - I pilfered that from another workflow and haven't changed it yet). I admittedly am a complete novice when it comes to Alfred workflows, so my work is probably painfully bad.
  2. For some reason the 'Auto paste on return' function of the Alfred clipboard stopped working for me a couple of days ago. I didn't realise how much I rely on it until it stopped working The clipboard window opens as normal when I hit the shortcut, but the selected entry isn't pasted when I hit return. I don't really know how to go about debugging this - has anyone had a similar issue? Thanks Adam
  3. macOS Sierra 10.12.5 Alfred v3.4 [850] LibreOffice 5.2.7.2 Alfreds clipboard history seems to interfere with LibreOffice. When clipboard history is enabled pasted text to LibreOffice will always be the last thing copied in LibreOffice. When Alfred is not running everything works fine. Disabling Clipboard history also seems to solve this. I can't reliably reproduce this. It always happens when I work with LibreOffice, but I can't pinpoint the exact event, that triggers this bug. One interesting observation: This also affects TextExpander snippets. Inserting any snippet will paste the same text that was copied from inside LibreOffice before.
  4. For some reason this stopped working for me. I can pinpoint when exactly but some updated ago. I specifically removed 1password from the ignore apps of Advanced tab of the Clipboard's preference but now nothing that I copy from 1Password is shown in the history regardless of this setting. I tried resetting the setting and removing 1Password again. I even tried removing every single app there and still 1Password entries are not shown on the clipboard. I use this very heavily. Any ideas? OSX macOS Sierra 10.12.5 (16F73 Alfred v3.4 [850]
  5. Is there any way to open the clipboard.alfdb in any terminal program so that I can remove sensitive data and replace it with something like "PASSWORDREMOVED" without corrupting the data file? Is it in any certain data format? Like if it was SQLite I could make the changes through there I know you can do function-backspace to remove entries from the clipboard, however, i just want to remove the sensitive data not the whole line from the clipboard. Thank you, Jared https://jared.nyc https://devopschat.co
  6. I would appreciate if Alfred supported a command to erase the last hour of clipboard history, just as the commands to "clear history for the past 5 or 15 minutes". Or, allow users to manually define the `clear` clipboard command intervals in preferences. Several times, I have forgotten to erase sensitive data from my Alfred clipboard history within 15 minutes and am forced to delete the entire clipboard history. This addition would be helpful. Thank you.
  7. I would like an option for Alfred to display a confirm prompt after the "Clear Clipboard History" commands, just as it does for several System commands (e.g., restart). I have accidentally cleared my clipboard history in Alfred several times, to my dismay. This confirmation prompt should be optional, just as the system confirmation prompts configured in Preferences → Features → System. Thank you.
  8. I'm using version 3.3.2 and when pressing cmd+c once, an estimated 75% of the time it still does a clipboard merge, which leads to multiple successive appended strings, rather than copying something new to the clipboard. Anyone else experience this?
  9. How can you preview links in clipboard history? I copy a lot of bitly links into my clipboard and re-use them, the challenge is when I'm trying to sort through the Clipboard history I can't tell the content of them. Is this possible? How could it be done?
  10. Hello, I am taking a lot of screenshots and I prefer using the standard mac's screenshot grabber tool, it works great, but there are a few key points that can be automated for a better life =) I tried doing this workflow by myself but it didn't really work out. Upload the image from clipboard to imgur and get .png link copied to clipboard Trigger Alfred Write the keyword ("upload" for example) The first option you have is "Upload the image from clipboard to Imgur.com" The link (preferably the direct link to .png image) is copied to clipboard. Optionally you can have a list of images from clipboard history, if you took a few screenshots to clipboard and want to upload them too Edit image from clipboard in "Preview" app Trigger Alfred Write the keyword ("edit" for example) The first option you have is "Edit the image from clipboard in 'Preview'" The "Preview" app is opened Keyboard Shortcut Trigger "CMD+N" (this open the image from clipboard) Keyboard Shortcut Trigger "CMD+SHIFT+A" (this turns on Markup Toolbar) What do you think of this idea? I searched everywhere I could to find something similar but didn't find anything.
  11. Is it possible to remove several clipboard history items at once? I would for example like to be able to occasionally, on demand, be able to remove all clipboard history text items < 3 characters long. I know I can fn-delete individual items in the list, but I'd like to be able to perhaps activate a workflow to prune the clipboard history list en masse. Any ideas? Possible?
  12. Hello! Snippets: Several times a day I experience this behavior: working on some text I type shortcut for Alfred snippet and instead of snippet text I get current clipboard contents. Clipboard: When I want to paste something from history, I open history, select needed clip, press enter - and nothing happens. And then if I press cmd+V again only then paste occurs. Also happens quite often. Please advise. Thanks! Grigory
  13. Hi! I want to copy a string like "§ABC §DEFGH §Test" into my clipboard and want to paste it like "ABC, DEFGH, Test" at another place. Can someone help me how to solve this? thank you
  14. Hi, I was wondering if there's a way to get Alfred to either a) ignore clipboard items from the pass password manager or b ) respect that they should be temporary. Thanks!
  15. The integrated clipboard management feature is pretty good. However, I often need to paste plain text (without any format) from the clipboard, but the text from Alfred Clipboard is formatted. So if there is a hotkey that can paste text without any format, it'll be more awesome.
  16. I can consistently reproduce an error when I expand a snippet then immediately execute an AppleScript workflow that manipulates the clipboard: I regularly compose business cards having all the typical information. To help expedite some repetition and reduce errors, I created a snippet and workflow to format email addresses. My defined snippet of ";e" expands to "e-mail " and my workflow is AppleScript to concatenate the first letter of the first name, entire last name, and email domain. 1. I type a person's name (e.g. "John Doe") 2. I select the name and copy it to the clipboard 3. I type the rest of the person's information 4. To enter the person's email address, I expand my snippet to get "e-mail " then execute my workflow (with a key-combo) to process the text-only clipboard and paste the result (e.g. "jdoe@abcdefg.com"). The combination yields the complete result of "e-mail jdoe@abcdefg.com" This process has worked flawlessly until the most recent update (maybe prior update?). I am currently using v3.3 [801]. My snippets have always expanded each time as expected. If I copy the name to the clipboard and process it with my workflow, the expected result is pasted. If I expand my snippet first, then process the clipboard, nothing is pasted. The debug for the workflow shows: [ERROR: action.script] 363:376: execution error: Can’t make some data into the expected type. (-1700) I can reproduce this behavior without fail. My workflow AppleScript: set convertedText to words of makeLowerCase(the clipboard) set the clipboard to text 1 thru 1 of first item of convertedText & second item of convertedText & "@abcdefg.com" tell application "System Events" keystroke "v" using {command down} end tell on makeLowerCase(theString) set UC to "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ" set LC to "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz" set C to characters of theString repeat with ch in C if ch is in UC then set contents of ch to item (offset of ch in UC) of LC end repeat return C as string end makeLowerCase
  17. I can't get alfred snippets to work properly with punto switcher. Prerequisites: Alfred is on in accessibility Punto Switcher is on accessibility The bug: 1. Type word in english 2. Press Punto switcher button to convert last word to other language layout 3. type any alfred snippet shortcode Expected result: A text snippet is placed Actual result: My last item from clipboard history is placed Gif of the bug is here: Please help! I need alfred snippets and punto switcher to work together!
  18. I mostly bought Alfred for text replacement and clipboard features. I saw something in a competing clipboard product that'd be pretty helpful, and I can't seem to find a way to pull it off with workflows as-is. The feature lets you create a script that will be applied to the text in the clipboard, with a preview window and some other niceties. For me, the value is I use a bewildering number of different slightly-incompatible Markdown-like syntaxes all day, and it'd be nice to work in my editor in one universal format and paste via scripts that convert to the various idiosyncratic ones. Their example is "make an HTML list from items" but I'm seeing more value in things like "Let me convert some CSV rows to the three dumb Markdown table formats used across the systems I need." It'd save me a lot of dang effort, and could be as simple as giving me a workflow that lets me use a clipboard snippet as input. I think I could pull that off right now via AppleScript, but it's unwieldy enough I'd rather just buy the other product. Same time, I've already paid for Alfred, so I'd rather not switch.
  19. Hey there, I request the feature to have Alfred trigger on clipboard update, so that I can parse and update my clipboard contents according to my needs. Use Case: I copy a facebook link like this: https://www.facebook.com/TheBestCatPage/photos/a.994717007212298.1073741828.994713583879307/1593316110685715/?type=3&theater My workflow automatically strips the ?/type=3&theater from the link and update the clipboard contents. Use Case 2: I copy a link that exceeds a certain character limit. My workflow grabs the clipboard content, runs them through a link shortener of my choice, and updates the clipboard contents with my new, shortened link. I hope this can be done, it'd be awesome. While LinkClean is very helpful, it requires that I have to run it - I'd like to get rid of that step!
  20. Its very common that I want to past text as "plain text". For example If i copy formatted text I want to be able to paste it with clipboard without the formattation, ie plain text. Thanks
  21. I have a snippet that generates a test email for me to use. It has some dynamic text inside that includes the current date and time using placeholders ex. myrandomemail{date:KKmmssaYMMMd}@testemail.com Is it possible that as soon as I use this one snippet, it copies the output to my clipboard manager?
  22. Hi guys, I use snippets a lot in Alfred 3, and I badly need a quicker way to edit existing snippets. They're so awesome! Please see 1st screenshot: if Cmd+S on selected snippet would open it directly (2nd screenshot) within Alfred preferences, that would be a simple but fantastic improvement! I'm suggesting Cmd+S for this because it is very similar to the already existing Cmd+S shortcut which transforms a clipping from clipboard history into a new snippet. Basically hitting Cmd+S would mean: "create a new snippet or open it for editing if it already exists". That would feel very intuitive! After hitting Cmd+S, this window would popup to make you able to quickly update the existing snippet. Thanks! Vermeer
  23. Hey Forum, I use Alfred's clipboard manager ~100 times per day, often in a terminal window. However I am using iTerm2's hotkey (⌥<Space>) window which opens the terminal as an overlay. Unfortunately, triggering the clipboard manager (⌥⌘C) causes the hotkey window to close. Thus, in order to paste several entries I paste one into the terminal then paste the next one into another application effectively moving it to the top of the clipboard stack and repeat. It would be excellent if it was possible to do one of the following: shuffle the clipboard (make the next item down active so that ⌘V would paste it) pop the top item off the stack (pasting it and removing it the same way you can with ⌫) I've done some searching and this seems to indicate that we cannot manipulate Alfred's clipboard manager. Alfred's clipboard manager is the best one I've used (searchable and no mouse required) but I'd be open to alternative suggestions Thank, Ben
  24. Hey there, I want a workflow that automatically cleans up links in my clipboard (for example, strip the "type=3&theater" from facebook links). For that, I would like to have my Alfred workflow to trigger whenever I update my clipboard, so that I can follow the logic after. How do I achieve that? Thank you already
  25. Hey Everyone I'm trying to figure out if Alfred has a specific functionality. Like many of you, I do a crazy amount of email, and I'm constantly searching for something in a browser, copying the URL, and then pasting in an email client. My dream is something like MixMax (chrome + gmail plugin that allows '/' search), or the command+k shortcut in google docs (see image below), which works in any applications. My question - is there any way using Alfred, to enter a google search term, see the top 10 results, choose one, and then paste that URL, without ever leaving Alfred (and never opening a browser)? Thanks for any help! (PS - I understand that the example below is creating a hyperlink. It's just for illustration. I'm interested in pasting the actual URL in any context.)
