  1. Mac platform and OS. Have internal HD and external HD. When doing a search for a particular file or folder, Alfred "usually" finds the file/folder located on my external HD but the same file/folder located on my internal HD is not found. How can I configure Alfred to expand search results to encompass both, my internal HD and my external HD. #2 - Alfred unable to find .fmp12 files, whereas Spotlight is able to find .fmp12 files. (.fmp12 are FileMaker 12 files - a professional data base application). As you might have guessed, I am not some "tech-no" wizard so please keep any replies in simple, easy to understand, language. Actually Spotlight does a better job finding file/folders but Spotlight does not show the complete hierarchy, leading to the result, whereas Alfred does (when and if it is able to find what I'm searching for. Would appreciate anyone's help in finding a solution.
  2. Hello, I don't use Alfred currently to manage my clipboard (I use the app Paste) for one single reason : In Paste, I can select multiple results (with the shift key) to paste all the results at the same time, which seems to be impossible in Alfred. Is there any solution to do that in Alfred, or is it planned in a future release ? This topic is about the clipboard, but I have exactly the same issue with Chrome bookmarks results in Alfred : I would like to be able to select more than one result to open the selection in several tabs (my workaround today is to create workflows, but it would be way more efficient to just be able to select multiple results for your search, like selecting multiple files in Finder). Anyway, thanks for this great app that I use everyday. Edit : Added a video
  3. Hi when searching for a contact Alfred display me several times the same contact despite the fact I have only one vcard in contact.app about this one. I can replicate it for other contacts but not for all. Alfred 3.5 Pre-Release Build 867 OSX 10.12.6 iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) 3,2 GHz Intel Core i5
  4. I am looking to make a workflow for searching an image API. I would live to feature live results as preview images in the alfred window. can this be done?
  5. It's quite common IMHO that users start typing in their national language, when "Automatically switch to a document's input source" option is turned off (as it causes more issues then resolves). Thus it would be very helpful to detect not latin layout, and try to find by a "keyboard translation" (I have no idea how to name it right...) For example "Сркщ" in Cyrillic will be suggested as "Chro". Thank you.
  6. I am working on a workflow for applications and I was wondering what would be the easiest way (most efficient) to show the app's icon in the results? IE: When I type ".app" and then the name of the application I want to check versioning on, it shows the above so far ... but I'd like to show the icon of the app beside ... like, where an icon goes normally.
  7. Today alfred just stopped showing results beyond searching the internet, I've tinkered around with the settings, and nothings working. I did the rebuild index option, reinstalled, cleared the cache, and alas nothing. I have no clue what to do since I use alfred about every 5 minutes, and I'm really starting to notice how much slower things move Settings Window: http://imgur.com/8b7C2Ge,qtI7UfU#0 What happens when I search: http://imgur.com/8b7C2Ge,qtI7UfU#1 TL;DR: Alfred won't display any results. Help!
  8. ⌘S does not save fallback result changes as expected. Small thing, but I did a 'double-take' key press when it didn't work
  9. Hi all, I was wondering if there is anyway to control the order/sequence of search results. I have a very large collection of files and contacts for work. Ideally, I could indicate that folders appear first, then files, then contacts, etc. Is there anyway to control the order in which results are passed back? If not, any way to quickly filter results to see folders only? Thanks.
  10. Hey guys, Say I make a Script Filter and link it to 4 script actions that each perform a different function, but each action needs a different input from the Script Filter, and this is where the problem begins, because the "arg" attribute can hold only one value which will work with just 1 of the 4 actions Right now the only workaround to this problem is to give the "arg" attribute a separated list of multiple values, and then each action would need to parse the input and search for its piece of data, but it's too much parsing and splitting involved.. My opinion is that we should have some freedom in the XML attributes of the feedback results by letting us define our own attributes in a result and Alfred would automatically send those attributes as individual parameters to the "alfred_script" function, as well as individual {attribute_name} to other predefined actions. For example, script filter would generate this xml result: ... <item uid="rdioartist" arg="r96664" valid="yes" autocomplete="Incubus" artistiname="Bjork" track="All is full of love"> ... And we, the programmers, would then use the following in script action: on alfred_script(arg, artistname, track) -- we use the parameter that is needed for a specific action end alfred_script [later edit]: a big problem with the current design is when you link a script filter to multiple actions AND a Notification action, because inside the Notification action we can't split the separated list of values of the "arg" attribute, and setting the arg attribute to a single value would make the other actions useless So with my suggestion above we would type something like {aristname} or {track} inside the Notification action
  11. I've been working on a brief workflow that grabs a list of FTP favorites from Transmit and serves them up as Alfred results. Ideally, actioning any one of these results would mount the specified server as a external drive. So far though, I've been unable to get Alfred to load the generated XML as results. Below, I've provided some details that might be useful to pin-point the issue: The workflow is PHP-based, though it also relies on a bit of Applescript to fetch the list of favorites from Transmit. (Much of the code & concepts come courtesy @jdfwarrior!) I thought the issue might be related to the Applescript – returning invalid XML, or maybe nothing at all. I tried writing the generated XML to a file (instead of echoing it back to Alfred, as per the code below.) The output seemed valid but I am still unable to get Alfred to load the XML into its results list! It just gets stuck on the pre-defined loading text. I hope this all makes sense. Any and all help is much appreciated! PHP: /* FOLLOWING CODE IS ENTERED DIRECTLY INTO ALFRED'S "SCRIPT FILTER" ** EDITOR AND ISN'T WRAPPED IN <?PHP?> TAGS.
