The official repository is located on Github --> https://github.com/stuartcryan/defaultbrowser-alfred-workflow where any issues can be logged on the issue tracker. I have also put this workflow on Packal. Workflow Details: A simple workflow to allow quick and easy changing of the default browser on OSX using a workflow in Alfred. Installation Download the .alfredworkflow file or you can get it on Packal. Run to import into Alfred Donations This workflow represents many hours effort of development, testing and rework. The images that have been licensed for this workflow from DepositPhotos also needed a bit of my moolah. So if you love the workflow, and get use out of it every day, if you would like to donate as a thank you to buy me more caffeine giving Diet Coke, some Cake, or to put towards a shiny new gadget you can donate to me via Paypal. You should also consider getting into contact with Margus Kerma and donating to Margus also for the work that has bene put into the defaultbrowser binary. Usage db < browser > Note - if you try to set the default browser that is already active as the default you will just get a notification. Browsers currently supported: Chrome Firefox Opera Safari Chromium - New in V1.1 Canary - New in V1.1 SeaMonkey - New in V1.1 Screenshots Troubleshooting If you are finding that you are seeing browsers listed that you have installed previously but no longer have on your system you will need to clear out all your default handlers. Unfortunately, this is the only solution I have found to date, you should research it in depth before you use it. The following command will re-initialise all the "handlers" OSX knows about and will therefore resolve the issue, it will also likely require you to set up all your custom file associations again. In other words... you do this at your own risk, I do not support this in any way shape or form... The command you will need to run on the terminal is: lsregister -kill Contributing Fork it! 3. I have a few snippets I use, that are also included at the start of URLs For example, I have the following Snippets setup: "macos" converts to "macOS" "ios" converts to "iOS" However, when typing either one of these into Safari, it works as expected, but since deleting once in a Safari URL only removes it's suggestion, and not the character, the first character gets essentially duplicated. When trying to go to macosicons.com, it becomes mmacOS, and when trying to go to iosbeta.reddit.com, it turns to iiOS. Alfred is doing the correct behaviour, it's just that Safari is causing the extra headache. Please see the following screen recording: https://streamable.com/p873ng My setup: macOS 13.1 (22C65) Alfred 5 5.0.6 (2110)

  7. This workflow is set to open Gmail by default, but can be easily configured to open any webpage by changing the URL in the Apple Script within the workflow. Configuring the workflow in this way requires almost zero programming knowledge--you just go into the Apple script of the workflow and replace the Gmail URL with whatever URL you want the workflow to open. You can also, of course, customise the keyword to match whatever URL it is you want to open. To use this workflow out of the box, type "gm" into Alfred and Gmail will open in a new Safari window. This workflow can be adapted to open any page in Safari; all you have to do is change the link in the Apple Script. The Github page for this workflow can be found here, and you can download it directly by clicking this link. The Apple Script used can also be found in the Github repository. This workflow was made for Mac OS using an Apple Script.
  8. This Alfred workflow opens a new Safari tab with keyword "ns", and Google searches whatever you type after "ns ". If you don't type anything after "ns " (as usual, there has to be a space after the keyword), it just opens to the generic Google Search page. e.g. If you write "ns snoop dogg", a new Safari window will open the Google search results for "snoop dogg". If you only type "ns" into Alfred, the workflow will simply open a new Safari window. The Github page for this workflow can be found here, and you can download it directly by clicking this link. The Apple Script used can also be found in the Github repository. This workflow was made for Mac OS using an Apple Script.

Helium is a floating browser that stays allways on top of other windows and allows you to whatch media while do other stuff. Usage Just type lh (load helium) on alfred and the workflow will list the options based on your current open browsers. Supported Browsers Actually the following browsers are supported: Download To download the workflow check the Releases page. 10. One of my favourite features is the integration of 1Password. Typing 1p followed by a url saved in 1password is perhaps the best feature ever. For some time now, I keep running into an issue that with Safari active and tab(s) open, evoking 1p and url doesn't open the login page. Activating Finder and repeating the process works—a tab is added and the URL specified opens. This has not been always the case and with all the changes 1Password had recently made, this would wery well be an issue in their court.
  11. I think my setting is perfect! But I can not use bookmark search! WHY???
  12. I removed Flash from my system long ago but occasionally I need to make use of the version bundled with Chrome to view certain web pages properly. There are a few workflows like this around, but as the only browsers I use are Safari and Chrome I wanted something a little more direct than Send URL which led me to this alternative made by Runar. There were a few issues with that workflow, so I made a version which (hopefully) deals with everything in a tidy and intelligent manner. If Safari is either not open, or has no windows open, the workflow will post a notification saying so. If you'd like it to also post notifications when URLs are successfully sent to Chrome open the workflow folder (right click the workflow in Alfred and click Show in Finder) and edit the appropriate line in open_in_chrome.scpt (it's clearly marked). The reverse behaviour is also available (i.e.: sending URLs from Chrome to Safari). Hat tip to Carlos-Sz for getting Alfred to run the Applescript properly 🙂 Download (v1.0.2): Open in Chrome GitHub Keywords: openinchrome, openinsafari
  13. Hello! I made an Alfred 3 workflow to search and switch between open windows in the system and Safari (and Chrome) tabs. More app-by-app support are (hopefully) coming. It is uses the companion native app, that's what makes it much faster than the other alternatives. https://github.com/mandrigin/AlfredSwitchWindows/releases Sierra only (at the moment). PS: Thanks to Emanuele Munafò and his "Windows Switcher" workflow for the inspiration.
  14. Here is a workflow I use to instantly view any compatible web page in Instapaper's Text view, without adding it to your Instapaper account. In the workflow, there is two scripts. The upper one (currently connected) is for Chrome. The one on the bottom is for Safari. http://d.pr/f/cp39

  16. I am just a beginner, but I thought I would share this simple workflow that does not rely on scripts or variables. It is basically a workflow designed to launch Microsoft Office applications and produce a new document from a template document. I have split the workflow by application so you won't be opening a slew of applications and files at once; I believe, in the real world, you may not really want to launch a bunch of applications and files all at once. There is not much documentation to go with this workflow; it uses tools already accessible within the "All Workflow Objects" workflow as a smorgasboard of tools readily accessible. There are no scripts and it does not rely on variables; just basic stuff. Please send me some feedback and let me know if you like this workflow. https://www.dropbox.com/s/hgkff2sdv7sgq6d/LAUNCH 2 OFFICE DOCUMENTS.alfredworkflow?dl=0
  17. 1. I cannot drop aif files or mp3 files into the Sound Dialog folder.? 2. I cannot drop anything whatsoever into the "Open App/Files" Action module folder after I have put Safari into them; it seems like once you put 1 item into the box, it will not accept a new item afterward.? Ref: Help and Support > Workflows > Actions > Launch Apps and Files (from Safari) (What kinds of files is Safari supposed to be able to open anyway???) ? (On the other hand, I am starting to see some light peek through the clouds of my frustration; I am actually starting to make some of these workflows to do what they are advertised as doing) ?

  19. I am looking for a Alfred Workflow to minimize several opened Safari Windows such that the front window stays open but all the other opened windows are minimized. I am using Max OS Sierra 10.12.6. I have tried the suggested ones of Command + Option + M and/or + H but these do not work.
  20. Hi there I run Alfred 3.5.1 (883) and I don't have the checkbox for Safari bookmarks in Default Results > Essentials (see attachment). I have deleted and reinstalled Alfred without success. What can I do? I haven't seen any other thread mentioning that problem, the checkbox seems to be there for everyone else. Thanks Lukas
  21. I'm running Alfred 3.5.1 on macOS 10.12.6. The updated bookmarks search feature is great, but it doesn't search by URL. Honestly I'm not sure if the previous incarnation did either. I'm currently using a workflow I found on another thread (thanks @deanishe) that searches URLs, but it relies on Spotlight bookmark metadata that is no longer available in High Sierra. I really like the ability to search Safari bookmarks by URL, so much so that I'm hesitating upgrading to HS. Is there any way to get this functionality back? The URL is listed when I search by bookmark title, so I assume the information is available for Alfred to index with the bookmarks. So can I request this capability be added to Alfred? Thanks!
  22. This workflow allows you to view, open and add Safari reading list items. Features: View all your reading list items (keyword: RL). Search for specific items: Entering "rl apple iphone" will return reading list items whose page title or URL contains both "apple" and "iphone". View (and search) only unread reading list items (keyword: RLU). Add new items to your reading list (using keyword RLADD or hotkeys). Open all unread items (keyword: RLALL). Direct download Packal page This workflow uses the awesome Alfred Objective-C framework. Updates: v1.1: Option to view only unread Reading List items (default keyword: RLU). v1.2: Option to add new items to your reading list (keyword: RLADD). If the currently active app is a browser (Safari, Webkit, Chrome, Canary and Chromium are currently supported), you can just press Enter to add the URL of its active tab. You can also add URL's by typing or pasting. The workflow uses AppleScript to add new reading list items, so it requires Safari to be running. However, if Safari wasn't running, the workflow will quit it after it's done. (If you had no open windows in Safari, you won't even notice anything). Additionally, the workflow checks if the URL you are trying to add is valid by trying to download the <head> element of the corresponding page. So if you are disconnected from the Internet, or the page you are trying to add is unreachable, the workflow will consider the URL as invalid and won't add it. To make it add that URL without checking it for validity, use the modifier key (⌃). v1.3: Option to open all reading list items (keyword: RLALL). v1.4: The open all feature has been modified to open only unread items. (You can still open all your reading list items (including the read ones) by pressing Option.) v1.4.1: Fixed a typo v1.4.2: Fixed yet another typo
  23. # SafariHistorySearch Alfred workflow to search Safari history written in swift. #Usage `shs <SEARCH_TERMS>` Separate search terms with spaces if you want to search for more than one word. ie: `shs github safari` Each word is searched separately. If you want to search for a phrase, surround the phrase with double quotes, ie: `shs "Alfred Workflow to Search Safari History"` The results contain all search terms. This workflow searches the page url, page title and page body if available. see https://github.com/akaralar/SafariHistorySearch/releases for latest version. I hope you like it!
  24. This is pretty straightforward feature request. Since Alfred 3.5 there is an ability to search through your browser bookmarks. It's super nice, except it is only bookmarks. Wouldn't it be awesome to search through entire browser history in addition to bookmarks? This is how pretty much all modern browsers search bars are working, and there is a reason for that, it's really useful and convenient, considerably speeding up the time you need to enter URL. Right now, I often find myself going back to enter URLs/search in Safari, shy away of using Alfred for this type of functionality, since there are more relevant suggestions when I'm using Safari.
  25. Hi all, Spotlight has the ability to not only search for the title of a Safari bookmark, but also the content. Is there a way to do this in Alfred3? What I mean by this is lets say that I've titled my bookmark "A3" and the content is "https://www.alfredapp.com". I'd like to be able to search for "alfred", and get a hit for "https://www.alfredapp.com" in bookmarks, as opposed to having to remember the name of the title. Thanks.
