  1. Perhaps the most important missing feature of Snippets (which I love BTW) is a preference to expand with Full Words only. In essence, this would only expand a snippet if it were preceded and ended with a space. Here's an example use-case: I have a number of snippets meant to help me correct common misspellings and typos. For example, "wth" ---> "with" however, if I try to type "growth" Alfred will turn it into "growith" which is obviously not ideal another example, correct the common misspelling of: "ommitted" --> "omitted" however, typing "committed" will
  2. Hello, I have just d/l'd Alfred. I am trying to setup the Clipboard History and Text Snippets. I would like to know if it is possible to save the copied text to Text Snippets without having to firstly open Clipboard History window. Thank you and look forward to your reply.
  3. I'm using Alfred 3.0.2 Build 676 on OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and I can't get the snippets to expand anymore. I successfully activated and used the feature when it was just released. Now it doesn't do anything anymore. Is there a way to debug this to see what is doing/not doing? I, of course, walk through all the classic things like restarting, deactivating and reactivating the security setting. I have no idea what to do next. I saw the thread ofer here: http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/8871-alfred-3-snippets-dont-auto-expand-fix-awaiting-chromium-bug-fix/page-2#entry44738 and the open bug but
  4. I have a few Slack snippets set up to automatically expand when I type the keyword. I like to use these shortcuts in Slack, however some of these trigger the "New snippet" dialog box in Slack, and others do not. For instance, the "-->" shortcut will trigger the "New snippet" box, but not the "<--" shortcut. See this screen capture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1p683hcb371090z/alfred-slack-01.mov?dl=0 The "" shortcut also triggers it. The Slack documentation says the keyboard shortcut for "New snippet" is CMD + ENTER (on Mac). Could Alfred be triggering this through a hi
  5. Just started using the snippets feature and loving it! For my use it completely replaces TextExpander. Only thing I'm really missing is the keyword (phrase to trigger auto-expansion) is shown in the search bar search results. I have many snippets and often forget what the keyword is to trigger them. With Alfred this is much easier than TextExpander (where I used to have to open the TextExpander UI and search), since I just open the Alfred search bar type in "s" (my snippets shortcut) and what I'm looking for. It would be very easy to be able to see the keyword too so I learn those even
  6. I installed Alfred 3 and I'm having trouble getting snippets to expand in Atom text editor. I enabled automatic expansion and turned on Alfred in the accessibility settings. I'm able to expand snippets in other programs and text boxes. When I open Atom, start a fresh file, and type a snippet it doesn't expand. Is there anything else I need to do to get this working in my text editor? Details on my setup: OS X 10.11.4 Alfred 3 build 652 Atom 1.8.0 beta 3
  7. The snippet expansion works fine in every application I use, including iTerm itself, but not when using Neovim in iTerm. This is my main text editor so I'd love if the snippets worked in Neovim
  8. Sometimes, one of my keyword can be useful (in an aonther language for example). With TextExpander, its easy to click on the menu to quit it. I need to temp stop the auto-expand : "snip off"/"snip on". Thanks Yves
  9. I have been having problems with snippets not wanting to automatically expand then I use my keyword. I just updated to the latest version with Powerpack. The problem usually starts when I am trying to fill in an online form with my email or a date, etc. Once it stops working snippets will not expand in any app such as TextEdit or NeoOffice. The only way I can get them to work is to restart my iMac. Anybody else having this issue?
  10. Hi, I have been compiling commonly misspelled words from my experience and from others for a while. I used to have the list in TextExpander, but I just moved them over to Alfred 3 since I quit using TE. If your interested, I have them here: https://db.tt/gcJPuiEv. Maybe Packal will get a snippet category as well. (hint)
  11. My Snippets are not expanding in Native Instruments software (e.g. Maschine 2) - everywhere else it works. I can hear the expanding sound, the keyword disappears, but no Snippet appears. (The software is not excluded from expanding in Alfred's prefs) Thanks.
  12. I have several snippet and have found that the usage is not consistent, the main problem I've been seeing is while I continue typing after inserting a snippet keyword only part of the snippet is fully replaced. For example my keyword is ;cc to insert the word Comcast. If I'm typing quickly I'll see the following happen ; Comcast where the expansion of the snippet is leaving the semi colon from the keyword behind. MBP 2.8 i7 16GB ram OSX 10.10.5 Alfred 3 with Power Pack v3 [652] Let me know what else I can provide you, I'm not seeing any errors in the Console for Alfred.
  13. I am using an auto-expanded snippet to generate some YAML frontmatter in a blog post. I have the following formatting using the dynamic date tokens: - date: {date:yyyy-MM-dd} permalink: /{date:yyyy}/{date:MM}/{date:dd}/ which (today on May 21, 2016) I believe should output the following: - date: 2016-05-21 permalink: /2016/05/21/ and instead I get: - date: 2016-05-21 permalink: /2016}/{21PM/ I am using: - Version 3.0 [652] - Mac OS X 10.11.5 I am invoking this snippet through auto-expansion into Sublime Text 3.
  14. Hi! I'm using TypeIt4Me for snippets and for some reason my snippets doesn't work in an Alfred search tab. Am I the only one with that issue?
  15. Is there any way to place an “Enter” keystroke in a snippet. I’m expanding a URL and I’d like it to automatically go to the URL when I expand it in a browser’s address bar.
  16. Hi, when I create a Snippet that has more than one paragraph at the end, it cuts all but one. Sometimes I like to have a Snippet that auto-fills a few lines and then enters a few empty lines. (For now it helps to fill my "empty lines" with one blank each. This way all the paragraphs go through). Thanks.
  17. Is there any way to access snippets directly from the default results? I'd like to be able to just type in the name of the snippet into the Alfred box. I know there's a separate hotkey but is it possible somehow to access the snippet through the default Alfred box?
  18. Hi there, I'm a long time powerpack user, and honestly there's only one reason I bought the powerpack - for the clipboard and snippets. I use them heavily, but I'm very dissatisfied that it takes two keyboard shortcuts PLUS four clicks just to add a snippet. If i could get a keyboard shortcut into this view, i would be adding a lot more snippets. It seems to me, as the king of keyboard shorts, Alfred should eat it's own dogfood and add keyboard shortcuts into every view in it's own preferences, but it's particularly glaring that they don't have shortcuts into the place where you defi
  19. I've released a new version of Text Snippets changed from Text Shortcut. Now Text Snippets can handle snippets and terminal commands. https://github.com/rtoshiro/alfred-workflows-textshortcut
  20. Hello - I've developed a workflow for using github gists service as a snippet manager. You simply provide your username and a personal access token and the workflow downloads all of your gists (saving them locally) and enables them to be searched. I've implemented functionality beyond what the github gist service offers including browsing gists by tags (specified with a # sign) and browsings gists by language. Download here Github page Note that downloading gists takes a minute or so if you have a lot. They need to be manually reloaded currently. Let me know what you think! Thanks
  21. issue: - many snippets are hard to organise - there is no way to document what a snippets is doing feature req: when creating snippet add a new field called 'comment/doc' that can be used to store some text like description or some kind of documentation along the snippet code itsel. this filed should not be pasted when snippet is executed but rather be used to describe the snippet
  22. hi, im using snippets. when i press 'viewer hotkey' shortcas a popup window opens and i can type to look for my string. This works almos perferctly. The problem is that the serach doesn't look for the keyworks. Examle snipper: name: xen ssh hv api keywords: sshr ssh hv api Snippet : fu... Now when you try to search and type - ssh u find the snippert - sshr u don't find the snipper When u now change the order of keyworks to (see the sshr is first word). YOu can search using 'sshr' and it finds this keyword. keywords: sshr ssh hv api Please fix this so the ke
  23. With workflows, I can add multiple triggers to a single action. So, for example, I can launch an app using two different keyboard shortcuts. With Clipboard History/Snippets, the keyboard shortcut choice is sort of baked into Alfred in the "Viewer Hotkey" field under Clipboard. Is it possible to assign a second keyboard shortcut to that action? Thanks, Pat
  24. Because I use option + spacebar to activate Alfred, I often accidentally hit option + s rather than just s for activating snippets, so what comes out is ß. It would be great if there could be more than one snippet keyword allowed, so I could assign both s and ß - this would eliminate the problem!
  25. I made a nice Alfred workflow for searching through a folder of plain text file snippets that copies the contents and then inserts it into your current focus point. Additionally, it's easy to see, search, and set Mavericks tags on the snippets. Since the whole storage of snippets is done with the file system, it makes it really easy to add and edit the snippets with other means. Go check it out!
