  2. I'm using a lot of very similar Snippets (email addresses for projects). It would be very useful to be able to right-click on an existing Snippet and "Duplicate" it, so I can tweak the text in a new Snippet. Also, as I create a lot of Snippets, the ability to create an Alfred shortcut that would take me straight to the Snippets tab would be useful too. Thanks!
  3. I frequently use a specific date format that's not able to be achieved using the dynamic placeholders for snippets (without changing my system date formatting) : https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/clipboard/dynamic-placeholders/ Specifically, I prefer to have yymmdd as a snippet (it's a compliant file name without punctuation and sorts naturally). When making sure I wasn't filing a duplicate, I came across a different but related request, just for the year: http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/1021-snippet-year-placeholder/?hl=%2Bdate+%2Bsnippet So my request is that of enabling
  4. Hello! Snippets: Several times a day I experience this behavior: working on some text I type shortcut for Alfred snippet and instead of snippet text I get current clipboard contents. Clipboard: When I want to paste something from history, I open history, select needed clip, press enter - and nothing happens. And then if I press cmd+V again only then paste occurs. Also happens quite often. Please advise. Thanks! Grigory
  5. In light of replacing other text expansion tools with Alfred, I am missing two features in the beta version of Alfred 3: I need the feature of having a text entry field after having triggered a snippet so that I can fill in missing information "at expansion time", e.g. a snippet like "Dear {name}, ..." should allow me to enter a replacement for {name} during expansion of the snippet. There is support for dynamic placeholders, but it seems that this is only for date, time and clipboard and not for "on expansion time" values since they would require a UI to enter the missing values. Here i
  6. I use Alfred as my main clipboard history tool, and it's very handy for re-pasting something I recently copied, and then copied over. However, it's a clunky process to open the clipboard history -- is there any way to make it accessible from within the Alfred main window, so I can select clippings via a Cmd+number combo?
  7. Hi I am trying to create a snippet to name some files and I want the current week number. I tried using {date: week of year} and doesn't seem to return the right value. If someone has figured this out, please let me know. Thank you
  8. I've been using Alfred Powerpack for months now and enjoy the snippet functionality. But I have not figured out exactly what the use case is for the "snippet keyword" as circled in the attached screenshot. What exactly does that do? I don't see an explanation in the documentation. Thanks!
  9. I can't get alfred snippets to work properly with punto switcher. Prerequisites: Alfred is on in accessibility Punto Switcher is on accessibility The bug: 1. Type word in english 2. Press Punto switcher button to convert last word to other language layout 3. type any alfred snippet shortcode Expected result: A text snippet is placed Actual result: My last item from clipboard history is placed Gif of the bug is here: Please help! I need alfred snippets and punto switcher to work together!
  10. When I activate a Snippet all I get is the contents of the clipboard. If I quit CopyPaste Pro then the snippet works as expected. Is there anything I can do to stop this happening? I don’t want to stop using CopyPaste Pro. I’m new to Alfred so I could be barking up the wrong tree. Emyr
  11. Hi there, I just bought Alfred mainly for the snippets function, and while I was sad to find out that they don't actually get copied over to iOS, I might stick with the app as it's sexy and handy on Mac. However, auto-expand doesn't seem to work. 1. The expansion in the Security Settings of MacOS is installed. 2. I have not remapped CMD + V 3. I have activated Auto-Expand for the snippets I'm trying to test. 4. I have not excluded the app I'm testing this in (Safari). 5. I don't get a secure input warning. 6. I have tested mid text
  12. A snippet pack to make putting the true unicode equivalents of things like :sparkles:, :lipstick:, and other emojis used in git commits easier to type. It gives them names relevant to coding. Of course the official gitmoji has a CLI but suppose you want to use an IDE or don't want to install npm but already have Alfred Powerpack, or you just want a more inline way way of adding emoji, or you want the emoji to work with $git log (e.g. :sparkles: will not be interpreted by git log); if so, this is for you. Examples: :sparkles: -> :add: Because one uses ✨ when adding new featur
  13. I would like to use the snippet feature in MacVim as well but it doesn't work. I think this is due to MavVim not using a plain stock cocoa edit widget but something else. Is there anything how I could get it to work? Are there are any workflows, or simple way to make Snippets & MacVim work together?
  14. I have enabled Alfred 3's accessibility in System Preferences, I have "Automatically Expand Snippets by Keyword" checked in Alfred's preferences, and I have several snippets defined with "Autoexpand" selected for those snippets. They don't autoexpand. They still work with the "snip" keyword, but they don't expand on their own in Textedit or in Notes. I am sad.
  15. Just started using snippets in A3 and love it - much faster than AText which I was using before and have now removed permanently. However, despite turning "Expand snippets mid-string" off and rebooting several times, A3 still insists on expanding mid-string. for instance whenever i try to start tmux i get tomorrowux! Sierra, MBA 11" Any help?
  16. I have 708 little text bits that I want to menu-ize. If I can make each one a Snippet and stuff them all in a collection that seems like one way to do it. Except I'm not seeing a way to mass import from a text file. Can it be done (without huge effort)? If not, are there other options? PS. The snippets are HipChat emoticons like (congaparrot).
  17. Is it possible to have some default text show up in a snippet with the {cursor} placeholder? %<area("{cursor}")>% expand to: %<area("object_id")>% with object_id selected ready to type in the replacement text? i'd like a way to remind me what i need to enter basically. ty
  18. I just started using Snippets after transferring everything from aText. Twice within the past 2 days, my snippets have stopped expanding. I use Google Chrome - and the only way to get them working again is to reboot Chrome. This is a major pain in the rear with everything I have open for work. Is there a bug that I should know about? I wouldn't have switched everything over if I knew this was going to happen. Please help!
  19. Snippets are a great new feature. To make it fully useful as a substitute for TextExpander add a feature that will expand abbreviations based on the case of the keyword. For example, byu expands to beautiful while Byu expands to Beautiful. Thanks
  20. Hi there guys! I'm coming from TextExpander now and I miss —maybe it's possible, but I couldn't find a way— the possibility of use a reference to other snippets when I create a new one. For instance: :thx > Thank you very much! :pthx > That's perfect. {:thx} > That's perfect. Thank you very much! Thanks.
  21. Hi Snippets work great all over macOS including NValt - except as the first input/first-line-first-characters in a note in NValt. This might seem like an edge case but my problem is that I use NValt for journaling and always insert new journal entries at the top of the journal, starting with todays date by using a snippet. This bug can be reproduced every time, and the work-around is to enter any character and then the snippet, then to remove the extra character. Please note that snippets work fine anywhere else in NValt. Thanks /Mike
  22. I haven't been able to find anything about it, so I'm guessing it's not part of the snippet feature; but is it possible to add simple math to time and dates of snippets? For example, "today plus 1 day" type stuff.
  23. I have a snippet tied to the key sequence: ;etd The snippet has this: Another one done: {clipboard} The clipboard contains a long web site link. When the link is very long, the end of the link gets deleted and the beginning still has the ";etd" (or part of it).
  24. I have some rather large snippets that are a bit similar to one another. Is it possible to do a quickview of them when looking through Alfred? Similar to contacts?
  25. Is there a way to call a script from a snippet or inversely trigger a workflow with a snippet?
