  1. I have enabled Alfred 3's accessibility in System Preferences, I have "Automatically Expand Snippets by Keyword" checked in Alfred's preferences, and I have several snippets defined with "Autoexpand" selected for those snippets. They don't autoexpand. They still work with the "snip" keyword, but they don't expand on their own in Textedit or in Notes. I am sad.
  2. Just started using snippets in A3 and love it - much faster than AText which I was using before and have now removed permanently. However, despite turning "Expand snippets mid-string" off and rebooting several times, A3 still insists on expanding mid-string. for instance whenever i try to start tmux i get tomorrowux! Sierra, MBA 11" Any help?
  3. I have 708 little text bits that I want to menu-ize. If I can make each one a Snippet and stuff them all in a collection that seems like one way to do it. Except I'm not seeing a way to mass import from a text file. Can it be done (without huge effort)? If not, are there other options? PS. The snippets are HipChat emoticons like (congaparrot).
  4. Is it possible to have some default text show up in a snippet with the {cursor} placeholder? %<area("{cursor}")>% expand to: %<area("object_id")>% with object_id selected ready to type in the replacement text? i'd like a way to remind me what i need to enter basically. ty
  5. I just started using Snippets after transferring everything from aText. Twice within the past 2 days, my snippets have stopped expanding. I use Google Chrome - and the only way to get them working again is to reboot Chrome. This is a major pain in the rear with everything I have open for work. Is there a bug that I should know about? I wouldn't have switched everything over if I knew this was going to happen. Please help!
  6. Snippets are a great new feature. To make it fully useful as a substitute for TextExpander add a feature that will expand abbreviations based on the case of the keyword. For example, byu expands to beautiful while Byu expands to Beautiful. Thanks
  7. Hi there guys! I'm coming from TextExpander now and I miss —maybe it's possible, but I couldn't find a way— the possibility of use a reference to other snippets when I create a new one. For instance: :thx > Thank you very much! :pthx > That's perfect. {:thx} > That's perfect. Thank you very much! Thanks.
  8. Hi Snippets work great all over macOS including NValt - except as the first input/first-line-first-characters in a note in NValt. This might seem like an edge case but my problem is that I use NValt for journaling and always insert new journal entries at the top of the journal, starting with todays date by using a snippet. This bug can be reproduced every time, and the work-around is to enter any character and then the snippet, then to remove the extra character. Please note that snippets work fine anywhere else in NValt. Thanks /Mike
  9. I haven't been able to find anything about it, so I'm guessing it's not part of the snippet feature; but is it possible to add simple math to time and dates of snippets? For example, "today plus 1 day" type stuff.
  10. I have a snippet tied to the key sequence: ;etd The snippet has this: Another one done: {clipboard} The clipboard contains a long web site link. When the link is very long, the end of the link gets deleted and the beginning still has the ";etd" (or part of it).
  11. I have some rather large snippets that are a bit similar to one another. Is it possible to do a quickview of them when looking through Alfred? Similar to contacts?
  12. Is there a way to call a script from a snippet or inversely trigger a workflow with a snippet?
  13. v3.1 [716] One of the latest builds broke snippets for me. All configurations seem correct. Tried in multiple apps that it has worked before: Sublime Text, Chrome, Notes etc. But now it just won't expand. OS X 10.11.6 (15G31) Screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/QhdKS How to debug such thing?
  14. Hi, loving Snippets in native OSX - but is there a way to get this working when within a Windows 7 VM in vmware Fusion.
  15. Hi, I would like to auto-fill forms with Snippets (v.3). Therefore I'd like to use the TAB command to navigate from one field (e.g. name) to the next (e.g. address). The example would be: --- John Doe {TAB} 123 Fakestreet {TAB} Mytown --- Or is there already a workaround for that? Thanks.
  16. I have a Macbook Pro with OSX running 10.11.6 and Alfred 3.0.3. I also have VirtualBox 5.0.26 running a Windows 7 64-bit VM. The Windows VM has AutoHotKey (AHK) installed. In case you're not aware, AHK is a free text expander tool for Windows. When I have Alfred Snippets enabled under the Features section of the main window of Alfred, AHK in my Windows VM stops working. The shortcuts I enter inside the Windows VM always expand to the character "v". For example, I have "workphone" as the keyword in AHK which usually expands to 123-456-7890. When Alfred snippets is enabled and I type in "workphone" in a text editor inside the Windows VM, it only expands to "v". It's the same with all keywords. When I disable the "Automatically expand snippets by keyword" checkbox in Alfred, the shortcut works correctly in the VM. I also clicked on the little Settings icon next to the checkbox and added VirtualBox in the list of exceptions to not expand snippets but it didn't help. Can someone help please? I want to be able to use Alfred Snippets when I'm using OSX and AHK when I'm in the Windows VM.
  17. Hello, I was just wondering if it was possible to remove the View snippets for 'Collection', or move them to the end of the list of results when viewing from the clipboard history/snippets. Basically, I was hoping to have the snippets listed as they were from Alfred 2 when going from the Clipboard History > All Snippets. I am including a screenshot that I hope makes my question easier to understand.
  18. Perhaps the most important missing feature of Snippets (which I love BTW) is a preference to expand with Full Words only. In essence, this would only expand a snippet if it were preceded and ended with a space. Here's an example use-case: I have a number of snippets meant to help me correct common misspellings and typos. For example, "wth" ---> "with" however, if I try to type "growth" Alfred will turn it into "growith" which is obviously not ideal another example, correct the common misspelling of: "ommitted" --> "omitted" however, typing "committed" will become "comitted" which is not correct.
  19. Hello, I have just d/l'd Alfred. I am trying to setup the Clipboard History and Text Snippets. I would like to know if it is possible to save the copied text to Text Snippets without having to firstly open Clipboard History window. Thank you and look forward to your reply.
  20. I'm using Alfred 3.0.2 Build 676 on OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and I can't get the snippets to expand anymore. I successfully activated and used the feature when it was just released. Now it doesn't do anything anymore. Is there a way to debug this to see what is doing/not doing? I, of course, walk through all the classic things like restarting, deactivating and reactivating the security setting. I have no idea what to do next. I saw the thread ofer here: http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/8871-alfred-3-snippets-dont-auto-expand-fix-awaiting-chromium-bug-fix/page-2#entry44738 and the open bug but there doesn't seem to have been any updates since June so I was hoping someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong? I do not have LastPass but I am using 1Password 6 Version 6.3.1 (631006). Is there maybe a similar issue?
  21. I have a few Slack snippets set up to automatically expand when I type the keyword. I like to use these shortcuts in Slack, however some of these trigger the "New snippet" dialog box in Slack, and others do not. For instance, the "-->" shortcut will trigger the "New snippet" box, but not the "<--" shortcut. See this screen capture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1p683hcb371090z/alfred-slack-01.mov?dl=0 The "" shortcut also triggers it. The Slack documentation says the keyboard shortcut for "New snippet" is CMD + ENTER (on Mac). Could Alfred be triggering this through a hidden keyboard command? I'm using Alfred 3.1 (build 671) on Mac OS X 10.11.5. Slack version is 2.0.2.
  22. Just started using the snippets feature and loving it! For my use it completely replaces TextExpander. Only thing I'm really missing is the keyword (phrase to trigger auto-expansion) is shown in the search bar search results. I have many snippets and often forget what the keyword is to trigger them. With Alfred this is much easier than TextExpander (where I used to have to open the TextExpander UI and search), since I just open the Alfred search bar type in "s" (my snippets shortcut) and what I'm looking for. It would be very easy to be able to see the keyword too so I learn those eventually.
  23. I installed Alfred 3 and I'm having trouble getting snippets to expand in Atom text editor. I enabled automatic expansion and turned on Alfred in the accessibility settings. I'm able to expand snippets in other programs and text boxes. When I open Atom, start a fresh file, and type a snippet it doesn't expand. Is there anything else I need to do to get this working in my text editor? Details on my setup: OS X 10.11.4 Alfred 3 build 652 Atom 1.8.0 beta 3
  24. The snippet expansion works fine in every application I use, including iTerm itself, but not when using Neovim in iTerm. This is my main text editor so I'd love if the snippets worked in Neovim
  25. Sometimes, one of my keyword can be useful (in an aonther language for example). With TextExpander, its easy to click on the menu to quit it. I need to temp stop the auto-expand : "snip off"/"snip on". Thanks Yves
