  1. This workflow is set to open Gmail by default, but can be easily configured to open any webpage by changing the URL in the Apple Script within the workflow. Configuring the workflow in this way requires almost zero programming knowledge--you just go into the Apple script of the workflow and replace the Gmail URL with whatever URL you want the workflow to open. You can also, of course, customise the keyword to match whatever URL it is you want to open. To use this workflow out of the box, type "gm" into Alfred and Gmail will open in a new Safari window. This workflow can be adapted to open any page in Safari; all you have to do is change the link in the Apple Script. The Github page for this workflow can be found here, and you can download it directly by clicking this link. The Apple Script used can also be found in the Github repository. This workflow was made for Mac OS using an Apple Script.
  2. Hi everyone Im a new memeber of Alfred, and felt in love with the possiblities of alfred workflows. I belive i have a quiet cool idea, that could benefit alot of users, but i dont have the skills to pull it off. That is why i hope anyone in here could pull it off and share with the community . The idea is that the user would be able to choose at downloadfolder based on the URL they user are downloading from. For an example, i have made folder named "Facebook Downloads" and "Alfred Downloads"on my Mac. Whenever i then download a file from the www.facebook.com/* website, the downloaded folder would automatically get placed in the "Facebook Downloads" folder. If i then download a file from fx www.alfredforum.com/* the file would be placed in the "Alfred Downloads" folder. An extra feature that would be nice, if the downloadfolder also could be determiend by the URL sub root. For an example, downloads from www.facebook.com/alfred/ and www.facebook.com/mike/ would be downloaded into 2 seperate folders. It doesnt matter if the downloaded itme are directly rooted to the preffered folder, or if it would be redirected from the stardard download folder to the preferred folder. Though the first soulution would be the best, but most certainly also the hardest to do. When an item is downloaded on the mac from a website, the itme automatically coantain information about its origin (URL), if you enter the itmes "Get info". I belive this could be used to setup this workflow easier, but i have no idea. Maybe its more suited to be build in the "automator" app, build into macOS..? again i have no idea Looking forward to hear your reaction on this, and if anyone are able or will try to create this.
  3. Background I often find myself landing deep within some website structure, e.g. http://www.thedomain.com/subpage/anothersubpage/imhere. I'd now like to press a keyboard shortcut to jump up to http://www.thedomain.com. Let's call it an ease-of-life feature. Problem I've tried for several hours to get this workflow going, but have realised that my programming skills are too weak/non-existent. Steps (according to my n00b mind) Get URL from active browser tab (this is the part that's running, thanks to input from this forum. It's using an Applescript) Analyse the URL and chop off everything after the third "/". (Using RegEx? I've seen similar things done with Ruby, but I know little to nothing about both topics) Replace current tab URL with "home URL", reload browser. (Not there yet...) Questions If feels wrong to use an Applescript and then send the output into a Ruby script for further processing. Is it possible to solve my problem using one language? I've got horrible problems getting how variables get set up in a script and how to send them on in the workflow. Especially with different languages. Is there a good place to learn about this? Any input to this problem is highly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Hiya all Is it possible to get results in Alfred from certain website pages? For example, Amazon's "Today's Deals"? I have had a play with Alfred with Vitors help and come up with this attempt, which depending on how you look at it is very lame or as I look at it, I threw my arms in the air screaming YES! But it needs coding to do what I want, which is search results for all "Today's Deals" on Amazon.co.uk within Alfred. I would not know where to start with coding, like I said to Vitor, I have never coded in my life, I have downloaded CodeAnywhere to the iPad, and signed up on the website, but I have no clue as to what I'm looking at but a blank screen. 6. Hi, I hope someone please could help me with this, hopefully not such a silly question but I would like a workflow that searches a given keyword in: google, ebay, an specific website and the Mac at the same time with a hotkey. So far I can do the first three without a problem, but I cannot manage to get the workflow to search the mac as well at the same time. Here a snapshot of my workflow so far: http://cl.ly/image/3C3I1M0A2m1s Any help or suggestion would be much appreciated. Regards Daniel
  7. OK, I would LIKE to be able to make a workflow to grab my current data useage from my Cable provider's account page. The initial LOGIN page is here: https://myaccount.cogeco.ca/acpub/login/ Now, they are using some sort of authentication to protect users, and I am VERY limited in my knowledge of curl in BASH. As far as I can tell, I need to use curl twice, first to authenticate to one URL, then to login with another url ... perhaps using cookies? Can someone help me out here perhaps?
  8. Hi guys, I made a workflow that checks to see if a specified website is online or offline. It uses the website "isup.me". The default trigger is "isd <URL>" Here's the github page: https://github.com/cheniel/Alfred-Site-Checker If you're just looking for the good stuff (immediate download): http://bit.ly/1evjqSu It's my first workflow, would definitely appreciate any comments or suggestions. Edit 4/10/14: fixed missing temporary folder bug.
  9. Hi Alfred lovers I’m new to Alfred and I was looking for a workflow that was able to store my favourite websites. More or less one like “Faves” from David Ferguson (http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/784-faves-formerly-favorite-folders/) but instead of storing folders it stored my favourite websites only. I’ll explain my situation. I have a list of websites from my university that i only need to access when I’m studying. My idea was to type “uni” and only then the list of pre set websites would appear, so that they don’t clutter my other search results I actually don’t know if this is easy or not or do, but here is the suggestion. Thanks a lot
  10. Hey everyone I was looking around to fill my workflow list from a fresh start up and I found it very difficult to find a good list of useful workflows that I can browse and download what I wanted. Its pretty time consuming going through the forums and going through each thread to find anything. Do you guys have any suggestions on this? I honestly feel like creating a simple website that would have a list of a bunch of workflows and themes for people to browse through and download. Developers could submit their workflows and users could request workflows. etc etc. Thoughts?
