  1. This happens to me once a day at least. I work almost exclusively in fullscreen or split screen on macOS 10.15 and I use alfred for just about everything. The macOS switcher is broken at times, switching to the wrong window, etc, and so I just use alfred. When I open my laptop, the computer switches from single screen to double screen mode, and the Alfred bezel will not show up anywhere. I can activate Alfred, and the window focus changes, and I can type text and it'll do what I want, but I never get to see what I'm doing. Switching between windows the bezel is almost never active long enough that I care, but navigating any workflows, clipboard history, or anything else is impossible. The only preference I can see as relevant is: "Show Alfred on" which I have set to "mouse screen" When I close my laptop, the proper functionality is restored. I'm sorry to say that the bug presents itself often, but not every time.
  2. Korean Hanja input does not work properly on Alfred. Unlike Chinese or Japanese input, Korean Hanja input is an optional conversion function, so the users need to activate the conversion lists by pressing option+return after typing one complete combination of hangeul letters. On Alfred, the suggestion list appears but I cannot choose the next suggestions by pressing the direction key (↓), and sometimes the list is behind the Alfred textbox so it is invisible. (the suggestion list is behind the Alfred sometimes.) I hope this issue is resolved. Add) My macOS version is 10.14 Mojave.
  3. Once upon a time, I was able to change the color of text selection in custom themes. Fn key seems to show selected text in theme window; however, the option to change color remains on 'font color'. Am I missing something here?
  4. Hi, after typing "define" keyword into search bar it crashes. I've noticed I can type up to letters and then it crashes hard and have to launch the app again. Anyone else experienced this? I was just testing the features when I can across this as I am a brand new user. A
  5. Alfred crashes each time I try to access the clipboard manager. macOS 10.13.1, iMac 27" 5K late 2015. The gif is below. Alfred build: 3.5.1 It's only happened since the latest macOS update. https://imgur.com/LQ90oHm
  6. Hey Support team, Today I enabled SIP again for my macOS High Sierra 10.13.1; suddenly my Alfred 3.5.1 decides to reset itself. All the preferences are gone and all my workflows are vanished. Anyway I could get them back and what is causing this problem? Thanks.
  7. Unpredictably yet frequently Alfred 3 will take a full second to respond to my hotkey (currently command-space). This problem started when I got a new MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) and transferred my settings. Using Mac OS X 10.12.6 (16G29). Steps to reproduce: Invoke Alfred Press esc and repeat step 1 until the invocation delay occurs This can take me anywhere from 1 to 100 tries before it happens again. It's very unpredictable, though usually happens on my first try after a few minutes. In other cases the first try will respond instantaneously, but the 2nd try will not. This is suuuuper duper annoying. It makes Alfred unusable for me (BTW I'm a "Mega Supporter" and long-time evangelist of Alfred). Attempted fixes: Removed Alfred 3 settings entirely from ~/Library/Application Support Removed old Alfred 2 settings and Alfred 3 settings from ~/Library/Application Support Reinstalled Alfred Quit all other apps and watched Activity Monitor while reproducing the issue (saw nothing obvious) Restarted computer Here is an excerpt of things I'm seeing in Console.app near when the issue occurs. No idea if any of this is related b/c Console.app is a constant stream of garbage. default 16:12:13.844718 -0400 Console IMKInputSession presentFunctionRowItemTextInputViewWithEndpoint:completionHandler: : [self textInputContext]=0x0 *NO* NSRemoteViewController to client, NSError=Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4099 "The connection from pid 0 was invalidated from this process." 8. Working with latest version of Alfred (3.4.1 [860]) on MacOS Sierra 10.12.5, and using OneNote 15.37. iMac Retina 5K from late 2015. Snippets don't expand when entering a Keyword, instead it pastes the clipboard. Snippets do work when activating the Viewer and selecting one. Happy to record a short video of this bug if that would be helpful!
  9. Hey there! Long time user, first time reporter. I got a new laptop recently and updated my theme to match. I noticed that for whatever reason, when typing into this theme, there was some input lag. That's weird, since I've never experienced that with any other theme. Just to verify, I swapped back to some defaults and other themes I made. Nothing else exhibited the same behavior. The theme is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5t1bvxv5glcn1ph/laggy_theme.alfredappearance?dl=0 I've attached my system specs (there's an AMD graphics card not shown). I'm using Alfred v3.4 [850], the most recent one. I realize this isn't the most helpful bug report to reproduce, so i'm happy to supply any other information you need. Thanks a bunch!
  10. Hello everybody, I've seen that this was briefly discussed here before, but since the OP didn't reply further, I assume the thread was closed, since I cannot reply there. So I reopen the issue. I'm running the latest Alfred, v 3.3 [801] on a 2016 13" MacBook Pro with TouchBar, also running the latest official Sierra 10.12.3 (non-beta). The issue I'm having is as described there: Download any non-MAS app; Open it with Alfred after installation by drag & drop in /Applications Alfred hangs, its window blocking the Gatekeeper confirmation behind it (so killing Alfred from the Activity Monitor is the only way of 'solving' the issue). I got this bug with absolutely every app I've installed. The latest, a couple of minutes ago, being AppDelete. So while I don't know or understand the cause, I just wanted to report that the bug is still here.
  11. Alfred version 3.2 pre-release (757) It's a little hard to explain, so here's a workflow to demonstrate the bug. And a screenshot: When External Trigger "target" is called the first time via the top row of elements, the variables are correctly passed to the red Script Filter. However, when the red Script Filter calls itself via the same external trigger, no variables are passed to the Script Filter by External Trigger "target". The variables are passed to Debug and Run Script objects (not visible in the screenshot). arg/query is passed correctly. EDIT: Here's the bug in action:
  12. What you were doing when the issue happenedI was trying to "Add iOS Remote" and an alert popped up in the Alfred settings pane. It says ""Alfred Remote Server needs to be running to add a new iOS Remote. Tick the "Enable Alfred Remote Server" checkbox to start Alfred Remote Server."" I notice that the message said "Tick", I wasn't sure if this was the right word for this action to fix the problem so this is why I am reporting it. Is it supposed to say "Click" instead of "Tick"? Whether you were able to replicate it a second time by performing the same actionYes, click Remote> Un-check the "Enable Alfred Remote Server" checkbox (if Enabled)> Add iOS Remote Include any screenshots that might help us Include the Alfred version & build number you are usingv3.0 [648] Include your OS X version 10.11.5 (15F34) Thanks
  13. This forum description states "Bug reports or feature suggestions shouldn't be posted in this forum" but does not indicate where you want feedback or bugs for v3 reported. Clicking Help->Report a Bug in v3 takes us to the v2 Report a Bug page. How do we give you beta feedback? Thank you for making such an awesome app! Doug aka djuggler
  14. I installed Alfred 1.2 from the App Store. Then realized that the newest versions were not being installed via the App Store, so I deleted the App Store version and installed Alfred v2 from the web site. Current setup: * Alfred 2.8.3 (435) * OS X 10.11.3 So the bug is: I have Parallels Desktop installed (normal install; app is located at /Applications/Parallels Desktop.app). When searching with Alfred it will not find Parallels Desktop. Typing "par" locates only "Parental Controls". Typing "parallel" just prompts me to search the web. Ditto "parallels desktop". I checked Spotlight. Spotlight finds the app if I type "par" or "parallel" just fine. To be on the safe side I rebuilt the Spotlight metadata index yesterday, which resulted in no change to Spotlight's ability to locate Parallels, nor in Alfred's inability to locate the app. I also checked several other apps that are installed. Alfred found all of them without incident. I use Parallels quite a bit and it's awfully frustrating to have to switch to spotlight or Launchpad to open it when I'm used to opening everything via Alfred.
  15. Hi, I've configured Alfred to search for my Safari bookmarks; however, none are ever shown. I don't recall this ever working for me. Could this be a permissions or privacy/security issue? Running "repair disk permissions" in Disk Utility.app does nothing. Here's a screenshot of my preferences. Here's a movie of the behavior. Other relevant data: MacOS X 10.10.3 Alfred v2.7 (385) thanks, Chris
  16. Hello, the web search feature seems to be broken. When I activate Alfred and type in a defined keyword such as "google" or "maps", the web search UI is never toggled and all I see is local results. OSX Yosemite 10.10.3. Thanks, Will
  17. The 1Password Bookmark feature presents an "choose application to open the link" dialog every time, and then after choosing Chrome, it just opens a blank tab. 1Password is fully operational on my machine, and Alfred web search also works with Chrome -- so I think this is limited to the Alfred/1Password integration. OSX 10.11.1 Alfred 2.8.1 (425) + Powerpack Chrome 46.0.2490.86 (64-bit) 1Password 5.4.1
  18. So I have a workflow set up with a script filter triggering a "run script" action. The (/bin/bash) script action is set to escape backquotes / dollar signs, run instances sequentially and contains this: echo entered alfred.workflow.action.script >&2 ./process_command.sh {query} When the script action gets executed, the Debug pane (set to log all information) shows this: [iNFO: alfred.workflow.input.scriptfilter] Processing output 'alfred.workflow.action.script' with arg 'restore sa ' At first, I thought I just screwed something up, so i set up a hotkey trigger to go directly into the same script action, but it still only yields this: [iNFO: alfred.workflow.trigger.hotkey] Processing output 'alfred.workflow.action.script' with arg 'restore sa' The weird thing is that it used to work just fine. The only thing on my system that's changed in that time is that I installed the newly released public beta update for El Capitan - 10.11.1 Beta (15B38b). I have randomly gotten it to work again after first experiencing this issue (not sure how) but it broke again soon after. In case it helps, here's a link to the GitHub repo containing my code: https://github.com/TimeDelta/session_archiver
  19. Environment: Mac Mini: Yosemite OSx v10.10.5, Alfred 2 v2.8 app; Alfred Remote v1.1; iPhone 5S running iOS 8.3 SESSION: I have apps open on my Mac, e.g. iTunes, Notes, Chrome. I confirm that Alfred Remote is connected (e.g. I can open apps using the Remote App on my phone). Using the iPhone Alfred Remote App, I go to System Commands and press the "Quit All Apps" button. No apps are "quit" on the Mac (FAIL). EXPECTATION: When using the System Command "Quit All Apps", then all apps should be quit. It would be nice if even "some" apps were quit.
  20. Hi Team, I seem to be having a bit of an issue that has cropped up in the last few weeks, I am not sure exactly when it started but the symptoms are this: 1. When I try to execute a terminal command with '.< command >' or a workflow tries to execute a terminal command... if I don't already have iTerm open, nothing happens at all. 2. If I manually open iTerm and have it running in the background... everything runs fine. This seems to occur across all three of my Macs. Versions: iTerm2 2.1.1 OSX: 10.10.4 Alfred: 2.7.1 (387) I have had a look and turned on all info for one of the flows and it does not error out at all, this seems to execute successfully: [iNFO: alfred.workflow.input.keyword] Processing output 'alfred.workflow.action.terminalcommand' with arg '' But strangely iTerm2 is never opened. It seems the iTerm2 program is now just called iTerm in my Applications folder, not sure if this has affected things at all (or if it always was). I have also checked the system console and no errors seem to be outputted to any system logs during the time I was testing. Look forward to hearing from you. Cheers, Stuart Update: All righty and now I have updated the scripts... made them more awesome and even added one for iTerm 2.9 https://github.com/stuartcryan/custom-iterm-applescripts-for-alfred/tree/master Not sure the best way to publish this but if anyone has any issues let me know and I will try to tweak the scripts further. Cheers, Stuart
Schade! Danke!
  22. Alfred version 2.6 with Powerpack OSX 10.2 Since the introduction of Yosemite, every time I try to launch/open anything beginning with the letter "r," the native Reminders app automatically launches an unresponsive version of itself (the icon appears, but it doesn't run and Force Quit is needed to shut it down). So, whether I'm trying to launch Readkit or some random pdf, as soon as the letter "r" is pressed in the Alfred window, that Reminders icon appears and hops in my dock. (This does not happen if I use Spotlight, but Spotlight doesn't have near the features of Alfred.) This has been happening since the first version of Yosemite. I didn't write until now because I thought that Alfred updates would have resolved the problem. The actions I've taken to try to resolve the problem so far are 1.) clearing the application cache, and 2.) rebuilding OSX's metadata. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance (and for an indispensable app), Jamison
  23. In last update 2.5.1 i see this error: "Unable to verify v.2.5.1 b308" And i can't update alfred app with this error https://www.dropbox.com/s/9rd3nvsdw0vq30z/%D0%A1%D0%BA%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%BD%D1%88%D0%BE%D1%82%202014-10-22%2020.37.38.png?dl=0
  24. Hey guys, It looks like you're not able to make changes to the colour schemes for the default OSX Yosemite themes. I was hoping to do it so I can lose the shadow effect around Alfred for a cleaner look. http://monosnap.com/image/gnGk4vrhWgHNgH4K7QDpcUsVEJSPf2 Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me?
  25. I've run into a problem when trying to execute a Python script in Alfred. The script is basically running a subprocess using a program located at /opt/random/bin/. When I run the script, I get the following debug. [ERROR: alfred.workflow.action.script] Code 127: /bin/bash: /opt/random/bin/tool "/Users/ritashugisha/Downloads/file.txt" "/Users/ritashugisha/Downloads/new.txt": No such file or directory So I looked at the $PATH that Alfred was using... bump = open('/Users/ritashugisha/Desktop/path.txt', 'w') proc = subprocess.Popen(['echo $PATH'], stdout = subprocess.PIPE, shell = True) (proc, proc_e) = proc.communicate() bump.write(str(proc)) bump.close() and found the following: /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin This doesn't include what I need it to include. So do you have any ideas for tricks to get around this? Or am I approaching this the wrong way? Thanks for any help you provide!
