  1. I would just like to know if the following would be possible within a workflow or if I would need to use some external program as well: I want to set up hotkeys that will paste clipboard item 1, 2, 3, etc.. the only difference is I would like the pasted content to be selected when it is pasted. Why? I would effectively be able to scroll through the recent clipboard history inline. I wouldn't matter if I accidentally paste clipboard item 3 when I wanted #2 because by clicking the hotkey for clipboard Item 2 that would take its place. Basically a 'soft' paste function. Default: Three key presses Hotkey1, Hotkey2, Hotkey3: CI #1 CI #2 CI #3 Pastes three items What I want: Three key presses Hotkey1, Hotkey2, Hotkey3: CI #1 CI #2 CI #3 Pastes last item only. Sorry if I'm being redundant just trying my best to be clear. Thank you!
  2. For some reason the 'Auto paste on return' function of the Alfred clipboard stopped working for me a couple of days ago. I didn't realise how much I rely on it until it stopped working The clipboard window opens as normal when I hit the shortcut, but the selected entry isn't pasted when I hit return. I don't really know how to go about debugging this - has anyone had a similar issue? Thanks Adam
  3. Both LaunchBar and Pastebot cause Word 365 (currently 16.37, but it's a longstanding problem) to crash when I use their respective clipboard managers. Can anyone tell me how Alfred's behaves with the app..? I don't want to buy the Powerpack only to find that it has the same problem (not that I know what the exact problem is – just that using those clipboard managers with Word 365 triggers it).
  4. Hello, I am a trouble with a custom workflow with is more like a clipboard thing Among many things I use Alfred to append predefined HTML structures . I made several clipboards using : Workflow > + > Templates > Clipboard > Paste as plain text from hotkey I had to restore my machine with Time Machine. Everything is perfectly working, all my custom web searches are here Yet those aren't working I made sure Alfred has - Full disk access permissions - Files and Folders permissions - Accessibility permisisons I even uninstalled and reinstalled Alfred It found the sync directory and all but still not Clipboard workflow, even when I create new ones, it does not work. If you have an idea of what is wrong... I haven't not trying purging completely Alfred - not sure how (it did automatically identify my sync directory upon reinstall) Thank you very much
  5. Yo I need some quick help about building this workflow. Assuming I have some content on my clipboard that contains: <p><a href="https://extreme-commerce.teachable.com/courses/392385/lectures/9786542?wvideo=kq8qkcou90"><img src="https://embed-ssl.wistia.com/deliveries/ebed1d02876b16bbe631160edc9168069bdd66c1.jpg?image_crop_resized=800x432.5&amp;image_play_button_size=2x&amp;image_play_button=1&amp;image_play_button_color=09A59Ae0" width="400" height="216.25" style="width: 400px; height: 216.25px;"></a></p><p><a href="https://extreme-commerce.teachable.com/courses/392385/lectures/9786542?wvideo=kq8qkcou90">How to add and use product hunting tools | Extreme Commerce</a></p> I would like alfred to get the video ID that is "kq8qkcou90" in the above string (all the other parts are dynamic before wvideo= and after "> so I am guessing the script should somehow filter the rest of the string. After doing that the script should place it under this string: youtube-dl http://fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/kq8qkcou90 and pass it to terminal. Any help would be appreciated. P.S. I tried to do this way but it didn’t help:
  6. I know people have requested image support in the clipboard history feature in Alfred. That would be great, but I would really like to see support for maintaining text formatting (rich text) in the snippets and clipboard history. As of now all text is converted into plain text in the history and snippets. It would great if formatting were not lost.
  7. Hi! would really love a way to have a shortcut (maybe via Ctrl, command, option etc) to allow to paste as plain text is something like that available? If not is it possible to requests features in Alfred and if so where does one do that? best regards Z
  8. Alfred Build 4.0.8 [1135] macOS 10.15.1 Sublime 3.2.2 When Alfred is running, select text in Sublime. Then either Copy or Cut the text with Command-C or Command-X. Then try to paste that text somewhere else in the same Sublime document. For me, the copied/cut text does not get pasted. Instead, the previous contents of the clipboard get pasted. It is as if Alfred is preventing setting the text to clipboard with Command-C or Command-X. Interestingly, pressing Command-C twice does set the text to the clipboard and can be pasted. If Alfred is quit, then copy and cut in Sublime works as expected. Anyone know what is going on here?
  9. Saves the selected text to a file. The new text adds to the old one. Download You find an interesting quote that you would like to keep. Usually you copy the text, run the reader and paste the text. And with Alfred you can select the text and press the hockey. All. How it's done: 1. Create a Hotkey trigger. 2. As an option, select Selection in macOS. 3. Create Outputs → Write text File. 4. Connect them. 5. Prescribe the path to the text file, in which you will save everything. 6. Choose Append on the right, so that the new text does not erase the old one, but was added. 7. In the main field, insert the following: {datetime: medium} {clipboard} Automaton, when you have selected the text and clicked hotkey, the text file will be added with the selected text, but the current date and time will appear before it. You can create a diary and write to it. And you do not care which application you're writing in, even in the address bar. ## – for markdown.
  10. If you often scale designs using the golden ratio, you are probably tired of copy/pasting from your calculator. Now, with the Golden Ratio Workflow, after selecting a number, a simple hotkey will paste that number multiplied or divided by 1.618, the golden ratio. cmd+opt+shift+G will multiply the number by 1.618 and paste the result. cmd+opt+G will divide by 1.618 and paste it. View it in action here: https://monosnap.com/direct/WY9O1oh71mMjGNfYL94kwazBxeHnoU Try it out for yourself here: http://www.kevnk.com/public/alfred/Golden-Ratio.alfredworkflow
  11. Is there an action or hacky way to restore the previous contents of your clipboard after running a workflow that pastes a string (determined by `{query}`) into your front-most app? Example use case: I use unicode-symbols-search ↗ to paste unicode symbols into my frontmost app using `uni {query}`. I probably most often use this to insert the symbol "↗" (lol) after link text to indicate that the text is a link, and then paste the destination link afterwards, but if I use this workflow (or any workflow with the "Copy to Clipboard" action), the pasted string overrides the link I had in my clipboard. Checking "Mark item as transient in clipboard" to true doesn't seem to have the behaviour I'm looking for. Is there a way (or action) to restoring previous clipboard contents after "Copy to Clipboard" action? Quick example of what how I imagine this working here ⤵ Any help would be appreciated! (And another image of my "Copy to Clipboard" settings in this workflow attached)
  12. I want to copy something like wp-content/plugins/event-tickets/tests/restv1/TicketNotAccessibleCest.php and convert it to codecept run tests/restv1/TicketNotAccessibleCest.php and paste it the "event-tickets" part is variable, which is why I used regex to match \w When I run with debugging on, it's like the Clipboard (what I think should be {query}) is blank. Screenshot: https://cl.ly/120d35b1fd91 Is that a bug or an error in my workflow? Workflow is here: https://cl.ly/005392a2a9cd Thanks for helping!
  13. Its very common that I want to past text as "plain text". For example If i copy formatted text I want to be able to paste it with clipboard without the formattation, ie plain text. Thanks
  14. Hi! Right now, if I copied something to the clipboard and I want it not to expire, I have to go into the snippets preferences, add a new snippet etc. I'd like Alfred to have a predefined "Pinned" snippets list and to be able to add items to it by using a keyword/shortcut on a selected item in the clipboard history. Of course these items would have no "keyword".
  15. Hello, I don't use Alfred currently to manage my clipboard (I use the app Paste) for one single reason : In Paste, I can select multiple results (with the shift key) to paste all the results at the same time, which seems to be impossible in Alfred. Is there any solution to do that in Alfred, or is it planned in a future release ? This topic is about the clipboard, but I have exactly the same issue with Chrome bookmarks results in Alfred : I would like to be able to select more than one result to open the selection in several tabs (my workaround today is to create workflows, but it would be way more efficient to just be able to select multiple results for your search, like selecting multiple files in Finder). Anyway, thanks for this great app that I use everyday. Edit : Added a video
  16. Another feature I miss from ClipMenu: the ability to define custom actions. In ClipMenu I could use Javascript---and perhaps different languages, I never tried---to manipulate a snippet before posting. For example, I had actions to convert a snippet to a comma separate list, to convert case, etc. When pasting with a specific keypress or key/mouse combo I could select the action to be performed on the text before it was pasted. That would be great to have in Alfred! c
  17. So I am trying to search the clipboard history of alfred by date. I remember copying something on a certain day and can pull that up but can't pull up things I copied around that date and time. Any help? I tried opening the database with bbedit and was pretty jumbled. If this is possible and answered please forgive the duplicate but if not, any help would be much appreciated. Cheers!
  18. Friends How do I copy the path of selected file to clipboard? Thanks amigos Migs
  19. In the settings, it says that you can merge two adjacent clipboard items by pressing cmd and double tapping C. This does not seem to work as described, and instead only copies the selected item to the clipboard. It is possible that I am misreading the instructions, as they are somewhat confusing, but then I would request that the instructions be changed? Thanks so much
  20. Hey there, I request the feature to have Alfred trigger on clipboard update, so that I can parse and update my clipboard contents according to my needs. Use Case: I copy a facebook link like this: https://www.facebook.com/TheBestCatPage/photos/a.994717007212298.1073741828.994713583879307/1593316110685715/?type=3&theater My workflow automatically strips the ?/type=3&theater from the link and update the clipboard contents. Use Case 2: I copy a link that exceeds a certain character limit. My workflow grabs the clipboard content, runs them through a link shortener of my choice, and updates the clipboard contents with my new, shortened link. I hope this can be done, it'd be awesome. While LinkClean is very helpful, it requires that I have to run it - I'd like to get rid of that step!
  21. Workflow for Alfred 2 to copy the paths of your current files and Documents to the clipboard in a variety of formats: * POSIX or HFS paths * '~/'-shortened POSIX paths * quoted paths * comma- or newline-separated. Works as a scriptfilter that gives you feedback how your paths would be copied: All options (except newline-separation) are available as File Actions also: More details in the README on github. 22. Hi everyone, I couldn't find any post talking about this anywhere in the forum, please forgive me if this is not the case 🙇 I copy/paste lots of colours and I almost entirely rely on the Alfred's clipboard to store them. I LOVE the built-in hex colour preview. HOWEVER the clipboard fails to show a visual preview of the colour whenever the "#" is missing in the colour code (please see screenshots attached to show what i mean. I was wondering if there's a way to tweak this in the preferences? So that Alfred attempts to preview any bit of text containing 6 digits? I know there are many workflows to convert colour from one format to another - some of which are awesome btw - but I was hoping to tweak the clipboard settings rather than add an unnecessary step to my M.O. 😉 Thank you, Max
  23. Hi, It would be nice to have the option to edit the selected item in the clipboard before pasting. Thank you.
  24. Auto paste on return is no longer working for me. ? I tried the suggestions from https://www.alfredforum.com/topic/10481-clipboard-auto-paste-on-return-stopped-working/ but have had no luck in fixing the issue. Things I've tried: Restart Reinstall of Alfred No other clipboard apps installed Using the latest 3.7 [938] and on Mojave 10.14.1 Beta (18B57c) -- I think this was happening even before I updated to Mojave, but I can't 100% remember.
  25. I like to be able to link to my mail. Apple gives you a way to do this, but you have to open the raw message to get the messageid. I finally decided to create a workflow that would allow you to get the message id's of selected mail, format them and put them into the clipboard. The workflow works like as such. Select message or messages in Mac Mail app. Open Alfred and type mailurl. optionally type a format html or markdown (md). If no format is selected html is assumed. Paste messages into markdown or html sensitive application. It is probably worth noting that this is useful in a variety of situations. I use it to link email messages in Things, DayOne, and Calendar. It is great to be able to reference the email the todo, calendar event, or log entry that created it. You can download the binary at Copy Mail URL. The repository is located at bitucket. Fork me or file a bug report! **Updates** 2014-03-24 06:03AM: I now have a blog entry detailing how this works. With screen shots!
