  1. Hi, First, I have looked but found nothing that could help direct me how to do this. If it's already covered, sorry for the duplication. I have a simple (though kludgy) workflow to clear the system clipboard. What I want to do is have the single keyword command execute the system clipboard cleaner and at the same time, the Alfred Clipboard be cleaned as well as part of the workflow. The existing workflow I have is setup as follows: Keyword ("clearboard") -> Run Script (echo -n '' | pbcopy) -> Run Script (say "The Mac OS clipboard has now been cleared.") and Post Notification ("The Mac OS clipboard has now been cleared.") I suspect I can delete the Post Notification without issue. If you've suggestions on how to do this, thank you. Cheers, BlackMacX NB. I know I barely use Alfred and the Powerpack to anywhere near their fullest capacity; but I like to (as we all do) support excellent software.
  2. Hello everyone, it would be pretty cool if it would be possible to select multiple Files, Clips or whatever from the Clipboard history and paste it. For instance: I would have copied a few files and wanna paste them. Here is an example: If i could now just press Shift+Arrow down to select multiple items and then just paste them that would be awesome If there is another way then lemme know, but else this would be decent to have. Another addition to that would be the ability to change the Shortcut for adding files to the file buffer. Something like ⌘+C and ⌘+V would make the file Buffer/Navigation even better Cheers, Frozen

  4. Hi, I want to remove certain entries from my command history. I am okay if I have to remove all command history if I have to. I can't see any way to do this in the app. I am using Alfred 3.3.2 Build 818. Is there a way around this? Thanks
  5. This tutorial is aimed at Alfred 2. Alfred 3 allows you to connect one Script Filter to another, so these workarounds are not necessary. (They might still be interesting, however.) [added 2017-03-20 by deanishe] Provided below is a workflow that provides a demonstration of how to reuse a single script filter or, how to chain multiple script filters together so that you can create the illusion of having multiple steps or allow you to further refine results from the first script filter, using the second. Demo 1 This demo shows how you can use AppleScript to call the next step (another script filter) after the first script filter has completed. This could be used to send the value of the first script filter into the second, or, you could just save the values to file and then read them all back in when you are done. This example will save the value to file. Demo 2 This demo shows how you can reuse a single script filter using autocompletion to separate multiple inputs with a delimiter. When the filter completes, you could then use that delimiter to split the string into its multiple parts. This works really well if your input data is numeric or short strings. Demo 3 This demo shows how you can reuse a single script filter, with AppleScript to provide multiple inputs/steps to the end user. The data entered by the user is saved to file in each step, then read in and appended together at the end. You could separate the final output with a delimiter and pass it on to something else if you wanted. There are many ways that this could be customized to your liking. Change the delimiters, how values are passed, etc. This thread is merely meant to provide examples of how this could be accomplished for those interested. Download the demo workflow here.
  6. So, I previously made a post about kind of a hacked way to do this and then was talking to Adam Lau (@helloleo) about it on Twitter and came to a realization. I can do this a lot easier! Removed the hacked way of doing it. Popped out a workflow, and here ya go! Download
  7. Hello everyone, is there a way to delete the last Clipboard entry in Alfred? I'm currently using Keyboard Maestro to select the last word, capitalize it and paste it back. The Problem there is that it manipulates the Alfred clipboard so that i have the entry twice. Like there stands "test" and "Test". I would like to delete those. Cheers, Frozen
  8. Hello everyone, I'm using the "previous path" shortcut several times a day and always have the same issue. Alfred doesn't remember what i used as a filter before like this: I use 1702 to filter out a certain date. However when i use the "previous path" shortcut i would like to have the option that Alfred remembers that i filtered for "1702". Cheers, Frozen
  9. Hello everyone, i more often browser through folders via Alfred and find myself wanting to press ⌘ + A to select all filtered files like in this case: Just to drag and drop then for instance into a Mail. I know i can use the mail action for that but not when I'm in a Browser or when i want to just Drag and Drop them quick all together and not one by one. Maybe there is already another way idk but this would be awesome to have. Cheers, Frozen

  11. Alfred is constantly shutting down after I use the "spell" command. With all other commands and tasks it seems to work fine. I currently run Mac OS Sierra build 10.12.3 (16D32). Has anyone experienced the same issue?
  12. Hello, I didn't see a workflow for a VPN service client I use called Private Internet Access. So I decided to give it a try. I'm not sure if there are many people that use this service but I just wanted to share a simple workflow that connects and disconnects the VPN connection using Alfred. Here's the code/instructions/download: https://github.com/skonagaya/PIA-Interface Start Demo: Stop Demo: Thanks, Sean
  13. Hello everyone, I'm using Alfred at work for different paths on the Server. I'm doing so via a List Filter that contains all the Paths and passes them to the Action "Browse Alfred". The Paths look something like this: "/Volumes/pub/fdw/Project/ProjectNumber/ProjectNumberstuff/3_Electric/03_Konstruction/04_Presentations/" What I'd like to do is that i browse that path like this: "/Volumes/pub/fdw/Project/ProjectNumber/ProjectNumberstuff/3_Electric/03_Konstruction/04_Presentations/*1110" I can create the "*1110" or only "1110" which would be enough via another List Filter selection, but Alfred cannot browse that Folder as it doesn't exist in that way. Does anyone have another solution. P.S.: @Andrew It would be really nice if you could add a way to filder the List Filter in Alfred as its hard to find something with a lot of items. Cheers, Frozen

  15. Hey guys, quick question. Is there any easy way to use an image from a URL as the icon for a script filter? I've been downloading about 50 compressed thumbnails everytime I use a script I've been writing. (extremely slow) Do you guys know of any easier way to get images from a URL as a script filter icon? Thanks
  16. I have a workflow action that searches GitHub. I call it with Karabiner and as a way of documentation, I show the actions as subtext to the action like so : If text is large enough, it gets truncated with .... I know I can press a modifier key and hold it and have the text I specify here appear : However for me I wish I can just show that whole result in Large Type with a hotkey. Right now pressing cmd + l would show what I have typed in the window in large type which I find pretty useless. I wish I can press cmd + l to instead show this result selected in large type. It would be really really useful for me. Can such a thing be done already perhaps? Thank you for any help.
  17. I love to prefix and lowercase all workflows in Alfred. So for example I prefix my workflows with a: (as can be seen below) I also like to lowercase all the workflows (my personal preference). I also wish I could prefix other people's workflows according to their category. As I have over 200 workflows and it will ease searching for them greatly. The problem with this however is that when I update any one of these workflows, which name I changed, it will restore the workflow's name to what the original author had (not lowercase and without my prefix). Would it be possible to add a way to preserve the custom name the users give to the externally downloaded workflows. So if I decide to rename a workflow like so : And then the author has updated the workflow, I want to get all the changes, but keep the name I gave to the workflow. I think it should be possible as it is only the title. The bundle id will be unique to the author. I doubt many people do decide to change names of workflows when they download them but I really wish to use prefixes and keep my own names of workflows. I hope you can understand what I mean and this would be possible to do. It would save me a lot of time and would allow me to customise my collection of workflows more nicely.

  20. Hey all and happy new year 🎄 I've read through this but it doesn't really specify how I can actually do what I want to do. What I want is to be able to call an Alfred script filter from applescript similar to how I can call Keyboard Maestro macros with this : osascript -e tell application "Keyboard Maestro Engine" do script ... -- where the name of the script goes end tell
  21. I've been writing a lot of workflows lately and its been annoying to have to open aflred right click on a workflow and open either the terminal or finder to it. Here is my `wfd` and `wft` commands that do just that. V0.4 - Updated to support non standard workflow directories: Relative Path

  23. I have updated my description of how I use Karabiner in combination with different workflows and keyboard maestro macros. I think it's insanely powerful in combination. Perhaps some will find this idea interesting and would like to implement something like that too on their machines, the only current requirement is being on El Captain as this software is being rewritten for Sierra still and is thus not compatible. The most amazing thing though is that there really is no longer a barrier to adding a new hotkey. I don't have to twist my hands. I don't have to try and remember the shortcuts as first, I use them daily, and secondly, I can map my hotkeys naturally into their appropriate sections. Ultimately I am always two keypresses away from everything that I can dream of doing. And if you don't find this idea interesting, you can just see what workflows I personally use and love and there are many of them. P.S. I hope it is okay that I share links to the workflows like that, if any author takes offence in how I present this information, I am willing to take down the links. I am also currently in process of trying to understand how to use either awgo or alfred-workflow library to write a goodreads and quora search with autosuggestions workflows so I hope I can share those some time later.
  24. Hello, I sometimes see Alfred taking insane amounts of CPU, making my macbook whizz because of the fan noise. macOS Sierra 10.12.1 and Alfred v. 3.2.1 I was not using Alfred at the time, but taking a backup using hashbackup. I sampled the process: http://pastebin.com/raw/s6dgXZxa Regards
  25. Would it be possible to create a workflow that would list the current Finder tags the user has and fuzzy match search for them and then display them? Alfred gives an option to view these tags : But when you run it, it gives no list of what tags you have : You have to remember what tags you have that you want to search for. It would be awesome if one can type a trigger like 'tags' or use some keyboard shortcut to display all the tags that a user has in their Finder and then you can either arrow up / down to select the one you need or start typing the tag you want and it will match the relevant tags for you. You can also give some contextual info for the tags like number of items that are tagged with this tag as subtext to the tags. Where can I start looking to try and make something like this? It would be extremely useful for me as I have Hazel automatically choose certain tags for some files in a smart way but I don't have an easy way to view these tags and work with them well. This workflow would fix this for me. Thank you for any help.
