  1. If you often scale designs using the golden ratio, you are probably tired of copy/pasting from your calculator. Now, with the Golden Ratio Workflow, after selecting a number, a simple hotkey will paste that number multiplied or divided by 1.618, the golden ratio. cmd+opt+shift+G will multiply the number by 1.618 and paste the result. cmd+opt+G will divide by 1.618 and paste it. View it in action here: https://monosnap.com/direct/WY9O1oh71mMjGNfYL94kwazBxeHnoU Try it out for yourself here: http://www.kevnk.com/public/alfred/Golden-Ratio.alfredworkflow
  2. Hey there, I request the feature to have Alfred trigger on clipboard update, so that I can parse and update my clipboard contents according to my needs. Use Case: I copy a facebook link like this: https://www.facebook.com/TheBestCatPage/photos/a.994717007212298.1073741828.994713583879307/1593316110685715/?type=3&theater My workflow automatically strips the ?/type=3&theater from the link and update the clipboard contents. Use Case 2: I copy a link that exceeds a certain character limit. My workflow grabs the clipboard content, runs them through a link shortener of my choice, and updates the clipboard contents with my new, shortened link. I hope this can be done, it'd be awesome. While LinkClean is very helpful, it requires that I have to run it - I'd like to get rid of that step!
  3. This workflow adds a file action called "Paste." It will copy the selected file to the clipboard and then paste it in the front application. It basically automates the copy and paste process where you need to copy and paste files. It will handle multiple files, so if you have multiple files selected, it will paste each of them into the current application. It also adds a number of other files actions including Duplicate, Move to Trash, New Folder, and Open in New Finder Tab. Click here to download the workflow.
  4. Problem and Solution I'm heavy user of Evernote. During internet surfing, I collect enormous amount of links. But copy and paste process consumes too much time and keyboard labor. I just needed titled link in plain format from web browser. I used many clipboard managers such as Clipmate(for windows), Copied, Paste and so on for that reason. Finally, I met Alfred and made this workflow. Problem solved. Lazy Link replaces following process into one hotkey(Ctrl + Option + Command + v). Copy the title of web page on the web browser Paste it as plain text on your rich text editor (eg. Evernote) Copy the link of web page Select title text on the text editor and add link Please, don't waste your time. Default Hotkey Ctrl + Option + Command + v: Paste lazy link Shift + Ctrl + Option + Command + v: Paste lazy link starting with "via: " In rich text editor, it pastes plain HTML link. If you use plain text editor it pastes the link in Markdown format. Links Download GitHub Packal Lazy Link currently supports Safari and Chrome web browser. 저장저장
  5. Hi, I sometimes ran into the problem that there still was some formatting (e.g. URLs) in my clipboard even though I pasted it as plaintext. With this tiny script, there will be nothing but plaintext left. Have fun. Download Source I linked it to Command+Option+Shift+C (equivalent to paste as plaintext). Saves me time every day. (I'm new to this, please tell me if I misbehaved in any way)
  6. That’s my first ‘real’ workflow made to ease my everyday job workflow. Hope you will benefit from it too. What that file action does is to simply copy the name of selected folder(s) or file(s). Of course workflow works not only in Alfred File Viewer but everywhere you can select files using for example the Hotkey. → DOWNLOAD Changelog: 1.6: and again I have rewrote my workflow – now in Python it does finally support copying multiple file/folder names! 1.5: completely rewritten version now uses only bash script (4 lines of code) so it's faster allows for copying filename with its extension or without (in Run Script section delete "#" in text "#filename=${filename%.*}" this version does not support multiple file/folder names copying. If you need such option download version 1.1.1 (download link above) 1.1.1: allows for multiple file/folder names copying (only when used outside Alfred – in Finder, Forklift, etc.). Thanks for Carlos-Sz for modyfing this script! 1.1: when copying file names, file's extension is cut off 1.0: initial release
  7. I am trying to use Alfred as my goto clipboard manager on my Mac. Is there a way to add sound such that when I am using Alfred's clipboard functions, I hear an audible sound when I perform a copy operation and/or a paste operation? Adding this capability would make Alfred much more useful for me.
  8. Hello, if I perform the "Move to..." file action on a file on my internal Mac SSD (on Desktop for example) and try to move it to an external drive Alfred is coping the file instead of moving it. I discussed the issue here: https://www.alfredforum.com/topic/11442-move-file-action-is-always-copying-instead-of-moving/ And the only other mention of this problem I could find is from 2013/2014: https://www.alfredforum.com/topic/1331-move-file-not-always-working/ As I understand, Alfred is using the Finder to move files and the default Finder function is copy if the destination is on an other drive/partition as the source file. This is an explanation but still the action is named "Move to..." not "Sometimes move sometimes copy to..." so I think this is a bug/behaviour that should be fixed. What you were doing when the issue happened Trying to move a file from Desktop to external drive Whether you were able to replicate it a second time by performing the same action Every single time Include any screenshots that might help us - Include the Alfred version & build number you are using Alfred v3.6.1 [910] with Powerpack Include your OS X version Macbook Air with Sierra 10.12.6 and Macbook Pro with High Sierra 10.13.3

  10. Hey there, I want a workflow that automatically cleans up links in my clipboard (for example, strip the "type=3&theater" from facebook links). For that, I would like to have my Alfred workflow to trigger whenever I update my clipboard, so that I can follow the logic after. How do I achieve that? Thank you already
  11. I'm a developer and the copy merge feature comes in very handy. Although, often I need to paste it into my code editor and do some additional editing - like add commas between each or && or whatever. It would be nice to (ideally, through the alfred interface) quickly change the setting of what separates each appended item—even set/add custom character(s).
  12. Hello guys, Im trying to figure out how to add a "copy file" option in file action list, anybody knows how? The reason, I do have a lot of apps support directly paste in files, to send/share/upload/sync whatever different kinds of functions. I found it really handy to just copy files I need, then paste them in the app windows. both "copy to" and "copy file path" works in a different way, just need to copy the file it self. So, anyone help is really appreciated edit: this just came into my mind: could there also be a "preview" in this option list? that would be really speed things up, at least for me:-)
  13. I get incredibly paranoid pretty much every time I use these file actions. Partial reason for this request ...and my paranoia, is how copy and move silently fail if the file(s) already exists in the destination folder. So, I've developed a habit of always navigating to the destination folder to make sure the file(s) were copied or moved there. Which kind of makes these folder actions useless for me. I might as well just copy or cut and paste from finder folder to another and that would be more or less just as convenient, if not more convenient. Maybe there could be a osx notification that says: "File succesfully copied.", or something. I mean sure... When you move a file and it disappears, it probably ended up in the destination folder, but when you're copying, you won't be able to tell. You just have to assume or make sure it did. Of course you can't see the file disappear if you do it all in Alfred and you don't have the finder folder open. In addition to this, It would be great if Alfred handled copying and moving more like finder does, when it detects the file(s) already exist in destination folder. The way it gives you options: "Keep both", "Stop", "Replace".
  14. Hey guys, Here's a simple yet extremely useful plugin to quickly print (on your default printer) a file or some text. If the query is empty, your last copied text is printed. print -> print from clipboard print {query} -> print argument file action, print -> print file. Warning: Not all files will work. Screenshots: Download: http://ge.tt/9Ko2Egj/v/0?c
  15. Alfred won't copy or move files to folders that start with a full stop/period.
  16. Ever since doing the last Yosemite update I cannot copy (at all) within the mac apps: textedit, safari, and a few others. When I do a copy of text it just never shows up in the Alfred clipboard. I attempted to copy the mac version from system info..let me type it out. OS X 10.10.2 (14C1510) Alfred v2.6 (374)
  17. Hey Alfred community, I have been DuckDuckGo'ing (and Googling) and reading posts on this forum for hours looking for an answer before posting what feels like a very noob question, but I couldn't find what I needed, so here goes... Is there a way to save the current clipboard to a variable in memory and then at the end of the workflow restore that variable to the current clipboard? I'm used to the logic of a programming languages where you would so something like this: $myVar = $CLIPBOARD; // save clipboard /* Do stuff that uses the clipboard */ $CLIPBOARD = $myVar; // restore clipboard OR.. Is there a way to swap clipboard history item #2 back to item #1 ? That might solve the problem as well. I know I can just use the clipboard history to get to the previous item and I know I could use a shell/script command to save the clipboard to a file and then bring that back. I'm just hoping there is a way to make it quick and easy and keeping the clipboard in memory is probably way faster and smarter if there is a way to do it. Thanks!
  18. Hi, I want to create a workflow so that when I am looking at a web page in Chrome I can copy the page's URL and Page Title and then when I paste it has created an HTML link with the URL and Page Title as anchor text. For example lets say I am on Alfred homepage - http://www.alfredapp.com/ I use the keyboard combo of Shift+Control+Command+C and Alfred takes the URL (http://www.alfredapp.com/) and page title (Alfred App - Productivity App for Mac OS X) and creates this on the clipboard: <a href="http://www.alfredapp.com/" title="Alfred App - Productivity App for Mac OS X">Alfred App - Productivity App for Mac OS X</a> For extra credit it would be super badass if I have any text highlighted on the page to be put in blockquotes with citation and have the Page Title link added to the end. For example, using the Alfred homepage again, lets say I highlight this text: "Alfred saves you time when you search for files online or on your Mac. Be more productive with hotkeys, keywords and file actions at your fingertips." Hitting Shift+Control+Command+C creates the following: <blockquote cite="http://www.alfredapp.com/"> <p>Alfred saves you time when you search for files online or on your Mac. Be more productive with hotkeys, keywords and file actions at your fingertips.</p> <footer>— <a href="http://www.alfredapp.com/" title="Alfred App - Productivity App for Mac OS X">Alfred App - Productivity App for Mac OS X</a></footer> </blockquote> Thanks in advance for any help and if I messed up and someone else already did this and my ability to search the forum is lacking I apologize. Roger
  19. I'd like to create a workflow that takes a file and copys it to a specific location. As an example, I'd like to assign a key combo to a workflow that would allow me to take a highlighted file and automatically copy it to a folder called dailies. If one exists, I'd sure appreciate it if someone would point me to it. If it doesn't yet exist, can someone tell me how to create it? Many thanks!!
  20. So I read how Alfred propagates a list of folders that you have visited when you use the Move or Copy feature. My question is, how or when is this list cleared? I futzed a Move and now have /Volumes in the list. Uh.. How can I clear /Volumes or is there a keyboard shortcut to delete folders from this list?? Or is there some way to clear the list (except for the default folders I first saw?
  21. Hi, I´m trying to do a few workflows but can´t get them to work. I´ve tried Googling for a few hours and set up different kind of workflows by my own and downloaded. But can´t get any of thoose to work. 1.Copy text and search in Mail App. Would like it to launch with hot key cmd + double "c" key click. Can get the search to work, but very very slow (can´t the result load within 0,1 sec?) and can´t get the cmd + double "c" key click as a hotkey. 2.Copy text and launch new mail and new email based on a template How to copy text, paste it in the to form, go to subject and paste a different (textexpander) sentence and then to main content and launch a different (textexpander) sentence there? 3. Copy text and open a Google Docs Online data sheet, and search within that whole sheet (including all working sheets) Hope some kindly soul could help me with this or send me to guides of how to do it
  22. If you do any bug reporting, you may know what a pain it is to get version information for the application in question. Usually, it means going to the 'About' menu and copying version information from there. This workflow lets you copy and paste version information with a few keystrokes. The keyword is 'version'. Download • Packal (Beta) Example outputs: Alfred 2 v2.1.1 (227) on Mac OS X 10.9.1 (13B42) Safari v7.0.1 (9537.73.11) Mac OS X 10.9.1 (13B42) You can get version information for: The current application Any application on your disk Your operating system There are also several choices when retrieving the information: When dealing with application or OS info: Command: Copy and paste immediately When dealing with application info: Option: Copy with OS information Control: Copy with OS information and paste immediately Here's what it looks like: Enjoy
  23. Hi there, I'm just new to Alfred (Launchbar converter). I have a template web folder with a few files in it and would like to create a workflow to automate copying the contents on this folder to my website testing (mamp) folder by just typing 'newsite' into Alfred. Is this possible with Workflows? Regard, TJ
  24. This should be the simplest workflow ever devised. I wanted to simply be able to select a file in my downloads folder or a DMG, wake Alfred up and type "install" and the workflow would simply copy the selected .app file to your /Applications folder. I've tried a few different ways, but I think the right way is a file filter followed by a script. So I have a file filter set up to take only application files, and I have a script that executes: "cp -R {query} /Applications/" I thought it could be a permissions thing, so I'd need "sudo cp -R {query} /Applications/", but wasn't sure if Alfred could handle sudo, so I switched to doing "cp -R {query} ~/Applications/" but still nothing. Incidentally, if I run "cp -R SomeCool.app /Applications/" in the terminal, it works like a champ, no sudo needed. If anyone could shed some light on where my thinking is flawed (in relation to this workflow, not in general) it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
