  1. I updated one of my Workflows and renamed a Workflow Environment Variable, which I happened to use in an Open URL block: The console reported success: [09:27:09.006] Product Hunt Toolkit[Hotkey] Processing complete [09:27:09.021] Product Hunt Toolkit[Hotkey] Passing output '' to Open URL ...but I actually got this mysterious error (-50) — and when tapping on the ❓, got a blank helper window: Suggestion: It would be great if Alfred caught these errors and reported that a Workflow Environment Variable was unset or missing, directing me to the offending block in the Workflow editor.
  2. It would be great if one could change the snippet expansion sound. The current sound always sounds like an error to me.
  3. Version: Alfred 3.4.1 I am new to Alfred and am running into a problem. I created an AppleScript to send information from Outlook 2016 to OmniFocus 2. I have it set to run an external script (makes it much easier for me to make changes and test). I created a hotkey to run the script. When I launch the script with the hotkey, I get this error: Unable to run task! Reason: launch path not accessible The external script may not exist, or does not have execute (+x) permissions. I have tried putting in the script folder for OmniFocus, Outlook and Alfred, but get the error each time. I am sure I a doing something simple wrong. Thanks in advance for your help!
  4. Hello Alfred Community, I have used Alfred quite a bit and I am all of a sudden having problems running my alfred workflows that have a python script in them. I have had others send me scripts that work flawlessly and others that have not worked. When I create or run a workflow there is no action taken, but if I put a result like post notification then it will execute that result without running the python script. Any suggestions or help?
  5. Hi, I'm working through my first script workflow and it works as I expect, but when I look at the debug in alfred, it outputs [ERROR: alfred.workflow.input.scriptfilter] Code 1 just before the output of the xml. I'm having a hard time finding any information regarding this. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot? Thanks for any advice.
  6. OSX: 10.10 Yosemite, public beta (build 14A329r[/size]) Alfred: 2.4 (build 279) Workflow: Window Snap (https://bitbucket.org/adamhorner/macwindowmgmt) Error: "error type -10810" running the AppleScripts that are part of the workflow (I think this means permission denied from the accessibility framework, but not totally sure). The same error happens when attempting to run the script from the command line - from the directory of the workflow, call `./printWindowXYWH.scpt`, it results in the following: ./printWindowXYWH.scpt:159:169: execution error: An error of type -10810 has occurred. (-10810) I have previously added both Alfred and Terminal to the permissions for Accessibility in System Preferences, so I doubt that this is a problem with Alfred, most likely a problem with the AppleScript permissions system. The workaround which variously works is to open the same script in Apple's "Script Editor" application and run it from there. Once that works, the workflow works fine for a while (as does the script run from Terminal), however after some sort of timeout (not sure how long, a few minutes at most though), the system reverts to the previous behaviour of giving the -10810 error. In short, I doubt that this is an error in Alfred, but right now it renders one of my most used workflows next-to-useless in Yosemite, and since I am not an Apple developer, I won't carry any weight with Apple (I am a java/web developer though, so happy to help you debug this further if it is useful). I've attached a couple of screenshots in the hope that they help.
  7. I use a workflow to open 6 urls in in my default browser (Google Chrome). Yesterday and today I got a "You can’t open the application “Google Chrome.app” because it is not responding." error. Urls open in a cryptic way -> not in the way they used to ( = In the reverse order "Open Url" actions are added to the hotkey trigger when I created the workflow). Console message: [INFO: alfred.workflow.trigger.hotkey] Processing output 'alfred.workflow.action.openurl' with arg '' Configuration: Alfred 2.5.1 (308) OS X Yosemite (Had no problem with this workflow when I was using OS X Mountain Lion). Google Chrome 39.0
  8. Hi, I am using Alfred v2.2(243) I am author of alfred-pinboard and other workflows. You can look up my workflow from github.com/jmjeong/alfred-extension I have some question about alfred workflow extension. I tried to find document about this, but I failed. 1. Is there any limit of items of workflow: the maximum number of items, and maximum size of string? 2. Is there any time lime for script to be executed? The result of of alfred-pinboard output is as follows when it is executed in the shell. - http://f.cl.ly/items/3n352G0Z0M0A302n0i1R/~DropboxAppsAlfredalfredprefer.txt When it is executed in the alfred shell, the error message is displayed. But it is random, sometime it is ok, but sometimes it displays error. Starting debug for 'pinboard' [ERROR: alfred.workflow.input.scriptfilter] XML Parse Error 'The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 4.)'. Row 1, Col 1: 'Document is empty' in XML: ></item><item arg="https://fnd.io/#/" uid="com.jmjeong.alfredv2.pinboard-33"><title>Experience the App Store and iTunes Anywhere | fnd</title><subtitle /><icon>item.png</icon></item><item arg="http://ludens.kr/741" uid="com.jmjeong.alfredv2.pinboard-34"><title>저작권 문제없는 고퀄리티 사진을 구할 수 있는 사이트 10곳 #Ludens</title><subtitle /><icon>item.png</icon></item><item arg="http://www.istockphoto.com/" To test if the result xml is wrong, I make simple workflow to display the first result. - pinboard-test.alfredworkflow The result is ok. The first result xml seems to be ok in this test. I don't guess why alfred-pinboard displays error. Most of the time, it is ok, but sometimes it displays error. If you need any resource to reproduce this error, I could provide it.
  9. I've run into a problem when trying to execute a Python script in Alfred. The script is basically running a subprocess using a program located at /opt/random/bin/. When I run the script, I get the following debug. [ERROR: alfred.workflow.action.script] Code 127: /bin/bash: /opt/random/bin/tool "/Users/ritashugisha/Downloads/file.txt" "/Users/ritashugisha/Downloads/new.txt": No such file or directory So I looked at the $PATH that Alfred was using... bump = open('/Users/ritashugisha/Desktop/path.txt', 'w') proc = subprocess.Popen(['echo $PATH'], stdout = subprocess.PIPE, shell = True) (proc, proc_e) = proc.communicate() bump.write(str(proc)) bump.close() and found the following: /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin This doesn't include what I need it to include. So do you have any ideas for tricks to get around this? Or am I approaching this the wrong way? Thanks for any help you provide!
  10. Hey everybody, last week i tried to sync my Alfred settings for the first time. Since then i am getting this error below when i try to run a workflow command. I have tried to wait long enough to the settings are really synced. I tried to install alfred new. I tried to work without syncing. I tried a new account on my mac. But nothing helped. Vero and Andrew from Alfred tried to help me a lot, but without success. Andrew mentioned that i could have something to do with PHP, because these 3 workflows i have tested are all using PHP. I installed a new PHP version with Homebrew some time ago. I am not sure if the problems started right afterwards, but it could be. Workflows i tested: color, caniuse, domainr http://coding.smashingmagazine.com/2013/10/25/hidden-productivity-secrets-with-alfred/ I tested the example workflow "open iMG in Safari" and there everything is working. It is really strange, because before the syncing everything worked fine. Does anyone has any tips? I just want to use Alfred again. I need it everyday in workflow. Thanks and cheers Christoph
  11. When I come to shut down I often use Alfred to "Quit All Applications" then the "Shut Down." I do this at the end of each day. I sported this bug, sometimes if you "Quit all" and "shut down" before all the apps have closed, my computer reboots and displays a message "Your computer had to restart because of a problem." I have noticed this nearly always happens when I tell Alfred to quit all, then shut down straight after. And because it sometimes takes a long time for all applications to close (usually an adobe program that just takes ages to quit), if I force quite the apps that are taking a while, then the mac shuts down, but the reboots instantly with the error message. Because I noticed this I have been telling Alfred to Quit all, and waiting a while for all the apps to close in their own time. Then I would Tell Alfred to shut down. This usually works, but occasionally the computer restarts and still tells me "Your computer had to restart because of a problem." Just thought I'd let you know as you might be able to fix it. Apart from that Alfred has been running great, it's one of my favourite apps!
  12. Hi! Almost every time I call the iTunes Miniplayer and start typing I see the following error in Console.app: 05.11.13 17:58:23,767 Alfred 2[18530]: [ERROR] AppleScript Error: { NSAppleScriptErrorAppName = iTunes; NSAppleScriptErrorBriefMessage = "Can\U2019t get container of container of current track."; NSAppleScriptErrorMessage = "iTunes got an error: Can\U2019t get container of container of current track."; NSAppleScriptErrorNumber = "-1728"; NSAppleScriptErrorRange = "NSRange: {0, 0}"; } Everything functions as it should, though - I can browse, choose songs, play them... everything's normal except for the error. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but I still wanted to mention it OS X 10.8.5, iTunes 11.1.2, Alfred v2.1 (218)
