  1. Hi everybody! OK, I am desperate - I've spent the last two days trying to cobble together a tagging workflow and I am totally stuck... I would be extremely thankful if some of you Alfred-specialists around here could take a look at my issue. I kind of know my way around Applescript but everything else is a total mystery to me. So here it is: The Workflow uses "tag" (https://github.com/jdberry/tag/ - installed via homebrew, if that matters) to assign my custom tags to files selected in Finder. The workflow should work with a hotkey - be it via a "selection in macOS"-hotkey or by telling Finder to get the selection. It should work with multiple files. The tags will be specified inside the script (I will duplicate the script for the handful of tags that I use daily). Edit: nevermind, the bash script works now for some reason... I will never understand this stuff. I give up on the Applescript Cheers, Anna on alfred_script(q) set tagName to "paid" set text item delimiters to tab set filePaths to text items of q set text item delimiters to "" repeat with thisPath in filePaths set theFilePath to POSIX path of (thisPath as text) do shell script "/usr/local/bin/tag --add " & tagName & " " & theFilePath end repeat end alfred_script query="{query}" /usr/local/bin/tag --add paid {query} echo -n $query
  2. Well there was a feature Request for adding "Rename File" to the internal commands on files here: http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/1675-add-a-rename-action-to-the-file-action-list/ David Ferguson quickly replied with an custom workflow (with some smart Alfred magic making Alfred calling search on itself!) But his version was a bit raw and limited to files only. So I enhanced it as follows: 1. It uses "mv" instead of cp / remove. This way it will work on folders (and bundles). 2. I made it so that the original name is the default when you rename a file. 3. I added Alleyoop update to it as I may enhance / debug in the future. You can get my "Rename File" workflow version from here: https://github.com/oderwat/alfredworkflows/raw/master/Rename%20File.alfredworkflow V1.1: Visible rename confimation. Fixed renaming of files with spaces in name. CMD Return on rename now copies the resulting file path to the clipboard. Upgraded Alleyoop code too. All my current workflows are available here: https://github.com/oderwat/alfredworkflows
  3. Hello, if I perform the "Move to..." file action on a file on my internal Mac SSD (on Desktop for example) and try to move it to an external drive Alfred is coping the file instead of moving it. I discussed the issue here: https://www.alfredforum.com/topic/11442-move-file-action-is-always-copying-instead-of-moving/ And the only other mention of this problem I could find is from 2013/2014: https://www.alfredforum.com/topic/1331-move-file-not-always-working/ As I understand, Alfred is using the Finder to move files and the default Finder function is copy if the destination is on an other drive/partition as the source file. This is an explanation but still the action is named "Move to..." not "Sometimes move sometimes copy to..." so I think this is a bug/behaviour that should be fixed. What you were doing when the issue happened Trying to move a file from Desktop to external drive Whether you were able to replicate it a second time by performing the same action Every single time Include any screenshots that might help us - Include the Alfred version & build number you are using Alfred v3.6.1 [910] with Powerpack Include your OS X version Macbook Air with Sierra 10.12.6 and Macbook Pro with High Sierra 10.13.3
  4. Hi! I made this workflow to help myself when I'm browsing files in Alfred and I want to share them. Here is a little Workflow to upload the selected file to Droplr. Works better if you have Droplr already open. Enjoy! Download
  5. This workflow generates some useful checksums from file contents. It is implemented as file action which makes it easy to use! It works pretty nice with my "Last changed files" workflow and also can be used to checksum a file in finder by setting a hotkey to the "File Selection" in "Find File". You can download it here: https://github.com/oderwat/alfredworkflows/raw/master/Checksums.alfredworkflow My other workflows are here: https://github.com/oderwat/alfredworkflows Versions: V1.0 - Initial releases
  6. Hi, I created a file action which allows to add the selected items to a zip file named Archive.zip (in the highest common folder of these items). The workflow can be downloaded at GitHub. Have fun!
