  1. Hi, I'm trying to use the custom search for the broadcom techdocs, I managed to find the search url and added the query and %20 for space as seen here: https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/layer7-api-management/api-gateway/10-1/search.html?q={query}&page=1. However, when I add this to my search it will either search for something that I previously searched not using alfred or if I haven't searched anything it'll just revert to null. I have removed the &page=1 and that hasn't helped either. It seems like it's redirected somehow. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  2. Hi there, I think I tried too many python fixing solutions and broke stuff. I followed this: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/kb/python-2-monterey/ I also reinstalled Git Repos by Deanishe (as an example) from here: https://github.com/alfredapp/updated-third-party-python2-workflows And I still get no worky. Here's the debug: [10:01:27.495] Logging Started... [10:01:36.064] ERROR: Git Repos[Script Filter] Code 1: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Users/***/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Alfred.alfredpreferences/workflows/user.workflow.9B958AD0-679D-4B2D-99D1-B0AF467B03A0/repos.py", line 34, in <module> from workflow import Workflow3, ICON_WARNING, ICON_INFO File "/Users/***/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Alfred.alfredpreferences/workflows/user.workflow.9B958AD0-679D-4B2D-99D1-B0AF467B03A0/workflow/__init__.py", line 16, in <module> from .workflow import Workflow, manager File "/Users/***/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Alfred.alfredpreferences/workflows/user.workflow.9B958AD0-679D-4B2D-99D1-B0AF467B03A0/workflow/workflow.py", line 25, in <module> import cPickle ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'cPickle' [10:01:36.180] ERROR: Git Repos[Script Filter] Code 1: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Users/***/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Alfred.alfredpreferences/workflows/user.workflow.9B958AD0-679D-4B2D-99D1-B0AF467B03A0/repos.py", line 34, in <module> from workflow import Workflow3, ICON_WARNING, ICON_INFO File "/Users/***/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Alfred.alfredpreferences/workflows/user.workflow.9B958AD0-679D-4B2D-99D1-B0AF467B03A0/workflow/__init__.py", line 16, in <module> from .workflow import Workflow, manager File "/Users/***/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Alfred.alfredpreferences/workflows/user.workflow.9B958AD0-679D-4B2D-99D1-B0AF467B03A0/workflow/workflow.py", line 25, in <module> import cPickle ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'cPickle' [10:01:36.353] ERROR: Git Repos[Script Filter] Code 1: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Users/***/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Alfred.alfredpreferences/workflows/user.workflow.9B958AD0-679D-4B2D-99D1-B0AF467B03A0/repos.py", line 34, in <module> from workflow import Workflow3, ICON_WARNING, ICON_INFO File "/Users/***/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Alfred.alfredpreferences/workflows/user.workflow.9B958AD0-679D-4B2D-99D1-B0AF467B03A0/workflow/__init__.py", line 16, in <module> from .workflow import Workflow, manager File "/Users/***/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Alfred.alfredpreferences/workflows/user.workflow.9B958AD0-679D-4B2D-99D1-B0AF467B03A0/workflow/workflow.py", line 25, in <module> import cPickle ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'cPickle' Let me know what other info I can provide.
  3. After I updated my macOS,I found my alfred could not search my app
  4. Catalina 10.15.7. Just updated Alfred 4.6.1 but I think I've always had this problem. If I set keyword as 'b' or 'bm' or 'bo', it just treats it like a regular search. When I change it to 'bok' or 'bmm' it works as expected. See screen shots. I have already removed and reapplied full disk access. And yes I did hit spacebar after typing 'bm'
  5. I have recently joined this community and I was trying to find a todoist app workflow to search inside the app content, I am really satisfied with its app shortcut to add tasks and I don't want to replace it with alfred (my projects have emojis and it would be tedious as I can't use snippets on Alfred's search). There are Some workflows which can be used to create and check tasks but I consider it miscellaneous But as I want alfred a global searcher I want a workflow which just searches inside the app, I don't think the API token would be necessary is there a tutorial for easily creating one?, I have tried changing other app workflow (obsidian) to search but it doesn't work Some help??
  6. Hi everyone, I'm trying to solve this problem that I frequently face. When I disconnect my Mac from the monitor (connected via USB-C), and then reconnect it when I'm back at my desk, sometimes it does not connect. The Mac does detect the USB-C cable, but I think the process needs a refresh, so I have to unplug and re-plug the cable to make it work. Is there a workflow or maybe a command that I can use to force it to connect by either restart the display process or something else?
  7. Environment I am using macOS big sur, 11.1 (20C69) and also the newest version Alfred 4.3.1. Problem snippet doesn't expand if there are characters before the keyword. For example: The snippets I using are \ue --> ü, \oe --> ö, etc to write German words. if I write \ue only, it will expand correctly, but when I write f\uer, it won't expand, and if there is a whitespace before the keyword \ue, it works. Others snippets also. Troubleshooting I have read the page https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/snippets/ and follow it to solve my problem. the only effect is to make the snippet working but still having the problem above. In fact, the snippets don't work completely before I did those things in the article. And also, Strangely, it doesn't work again for a while, when I writing this post. What I have done. Make sure that I have activated expansion in Alfred's preferences , set the snippets to auto expand and used the correct keyword Check cmd+v is still the way to paste. Check Accessibility for Alfred Kill Alfred completely and then remove Accessibility permission of Alfred and add again Test in several different app and make sure they are not using secure input to prevent Alfred to auto expand Change the option, simulated key event speed, I have tried all choices. check Others app which may be conflict with app. I don't use other apps which are about the clipboard and also text expansion.
  8. If you activate Alfred and press ⌘-⇧-/, you'll get this error, which seems misleading because there is a lot of Help available: I dunno if you can rewire that keyboard shortcut to open https://www.alfredapp.com/help/ instead?
  9. This workflow starts with a keyword input and save the query as a variable named "amount". I want to use this variable inside a NSAppleScript later in the same process. I've tried set theAmount to (system attribute "amount") But it doesn't get this variable.
  10. mac os 10.14.5 alfred 4.0.3 All removal operations in the software will report errors couldn't be moved to the trash.
  11. Using Spotlight i can search for .rpd files, but Alfred can't seem to find them. I have added rpd under advanced in the Default Results tab in Alfred without luck. Do any of you know what is wrong?
  12. Not sure what I am doing wrong but my "iTunes" mini player does not do anything when it is open. I can go through the playlists, albums, artists but will not play anything when they are selected.
  13. For some reason a few days ago my MacBook decided to poop out and freeze on boot. This forced me to reset my whole Mac back to its factory settings which obviously lost all of my stuff on it. Now that I have most of what is back I went to Alfred to try to put my workflows back on and the power pack wasn't their (again obvious). So when I checked my email and documents there was nothing I can't find my receipt or anything, I might be able to find something else if I knew what to look for or where to look for it. Please help I don't want to have to buy it all over again.
  14. Hello! This makes me feela a tiny bit stupid, but I struggle with what do to when I get to the update-screen. >.< Is there a button I should see? How do I get Alfred to download this update? I attach a screenshot, sorry for the unsharp fuzz. I'm on version 3.8 [959] on High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G5019) on a 13" MBP Very thankful for any help!
  15. Hello, I just upgraded to Alfred 3, and was able to sync my preferences on my first Mac (10.14) without a hitch. However, when I try to set the sync folder on the second Mac (also 10.14), the folder in Dropbox where my preferences are located is unselectable -- it is greyed out. The folder name is "apps." Again, I tried syncing on my second Mac, but the folder was greyed out. I set it up on my first Mac with no problems, but then was still unable to sync with my second Mac because the folder in not selectable. Any ideas why I would be able to sync on one but not the other? Thanks.
  16. I'm trying to install this chrome history workflow (https://github.com/tupton/alfred-chrome-history), but I'm not versed in terminal or coding at all. Can anyone further dumb-down the FROM SOURCE section of this repo for me to understand? Much appreciated.
  17. I just finished reading a great how-to article @ http://www.deanishe.net/alfred-mailto/. It was an exhaustive treatise on every little detail about that workflow (Mail To: workflow). We should have this sort of documentation downloaded with every Alfred workflow! ?
  18. It would be great when you say that "we have over a dozen examples and over 40 templates" (or words to that effect) if you appended that webpage (Alfred Blog > Tips and Tricks > Learn to Create Workflows with Alfred's Built-In Examples) with a follow-on webpage and link with a list of those examples and templates that you speak of, serving as a repository for us to go to for a one stop place to download from.
  19. Once upon a time, I was able to change the color of text selection in custom themes. Fn key seems to show selected text in theme window; however, the option to change color remains on 'font color'. Am I missing something here?
  20. Can I activate Powerpack on both home and work computers with a single purchase? I can see the advantages of Powerpack, but I don't want to make separate purchases and my workplace won't pay for activating Powerpack. Thank you.
  21. Hi, I'm trying to make a workflow that does the below but I am not sure how to achieve it. In short, I want to be able to add some text in Alfred and have it append this to a particular file. I'm just trying to make it easier to keep a project log. For this example, let's say that I have two projects that I am working on. Let's call the projects "apples" and "oranges". I'd like to be able to: Type 'log' into Alfred Enter a keyword to specify which project the entry relates to (e.g. "app" or "ora"). Then type some text. When I hit enter, I'd like the date and time to be prepended to the text I entered, then have everything added to the apples-log.md or oranges-log.md file. So, assuming that I have the apples-log.md file already created and stored in a specific directory, when I invoke Alfred and type "log app spoke with Frank and he confirmed that we should delete the database - backup of database stored on network drive under 'Frank's an idiot'..." the following should be added to the end of that .md file: <br /> 12/03/18 08:29am: spoke with Frank and he confirmed that we should delete the database - backup of database stored on network drive under 'Frank's an idiot'... <br /> Then later in the month, if I invoke Alfred and type "log app George called and is really pissed, apparently some idiot deleted the database... " the following should be added to the end of the apples-log.md file: <br /> 31/03/18 02:55pm: George called and is really pissed, apparently some idiot deleted the database... <br /> Does that make sense? It would also be great if I could type "log app", have the date and time added to the log-apples.txt file and then have the log-apples.txt file open so that I can type a longer entry, but this isn't essential. I'd really appreciate some help with this. Happy to pay someone for their time to get this setup. Thank you.
  22. I love having some kind of consistency in whatever I am doing. I recently wrote a wiki article about my process I go through when making and releasing workflows step by step. Currently this includes Go workflows I write with AwGo library and my non Go workflows I write that I publish in small workflows repo. I really hope that this article will be helpful and I am very open and eager to receive thoughts and feedback on it. Thank you. ? Read the article
  23. I've managed various Facebook pages over the years (currently 3), and lately I've been wishing more and more to do some of that management via Alfred. This week I started hacking on it a bit, but I decided to work on a personal Facebook workflow first to get the feel for working with the Graph API, and then moving on to one for page management. I wanted to post about it here, just to see (a) if there was much interest in it besides for my own usage, (b) if so, what Facebooky things do you wish you could do via Alfred, either personal or page related? What's working now or will be shortly... Login to Facebook app. A regular (text) post to Timeline Link post to Timeline. Photo post to Timeline Post video to Timeline Upload photo to album Upload new video File action to upload photo to Timeline. File action to create new album with multiple photos. Other ideas I've had... List last n items I posted (posts, photos, videos) and open in browser. List my groups and open selection in browser. List my events and open selection in browser. List my friend lists and open selected list in browser. Search, narrowed by any of the above items. If anyone has ideas/suggestions about the best way to organize the different items below for easy access in a workflow, I'm all ears as well—there's a lot of options here, and I want to make sure it's as easy as possible to use quickly!
  24. Hey Forum, I use Alfred's clipboard manager ~100 times per day, often in a terminal window. However I am using iTerm2's hotkey (⌥<Space>) window which opens the terminal as an overlay. Unfortunately, triggering the clipboard manager (⌥⌘C) causes the hotkey window to close. Thus, in order to paste several entries I paste one into the terminal then paste the next one into another application effectively moving it to the top of the clipboard stack and repeat. It would be excellent if it was possible to do one of the following: shuffle the clipboard (make the next item down active so that ⌘V would paste it) pop the top item off the stack (pasting it and removing it the same way you can with ⌫) I've done some searching and this seems to indicate that we cannot manipulate Alfred's clipboard manager. Alfred's clipboard manager is the best one I've used (searchable and no mouse required) but I'd be open to alternative suggestions Thank, Ben
  25. I don't know AppleScript myself, which is why I came here to ask for help. The workflow works like this. Keyboard shortcut > run usr/bin/osascript > play sound this is the code inside the script (I didn't write it myself, found it on apple support forums and slightly modified it): tell application "System Preferences" reveal pane id "com.apple.preference.keyboard" tell application "System Events" tell process "System Preferences" tell window "Keyboard" tell tab group 1 click radio button "Dictation" tell radio group 1 if value of radio button "On" is 0 then click radio button "On" else click radio button "Off" end if end tell end tell if sheet 1 exists then tell sheet 1 click button "Enable Dictation" repeat while sheet 1 exists end repeat end tell end if end tell end tell end tell quit -- optional end tell Now the script does successfully toggle dictation, but whenever I turn dictation back on using the workflow, the spoken keyword phrase (which is found under system preferences > accessibility > dictation > [ ] enable the dictation keyword phrase) is disabled, even though the UI shows that it is enabled. I have to turn it off and on again to get it to work. Could one of you tell me how I'd have to edit the script to make it so that dictation is turned back on with the keyword phrase still active? My guess is that if "click radio button "Off" is performed, the script should also go into "Accessibility" and switch "enable the dictation keyword phrase" off and on again. I'd really appreciate the help & think it wouldn't take very long to fix for someone who knows AppleScript. Thanks!
