Launch in simulator (alt ⌥ + ⏎ enter). Show number of applications installed (⇧ shift). Reset contents and settings (⌘ cmd + ⏎ enter). Apps Show content in finder (⏎ enter). 2. This forum has seen a lot of posts recently (including my own) which are basically geared towards allowing Alfred to replace TextExpander in the wake of the Smile pricing/sync kerfuffle -- ideas like allowing tabs/form filling, input within snippet expansion, snippets triggering workflows/scripts, case sensitivity in snippets, etc. Thinking about what it would take for me to be able to replace the 250+ snippets I have in TE with Alfred snippets, there are two killer features....1) is snippets to trigger scripts (mostly for date math)....I suspect this is in the works....2) is the ability to use my snippets on iOS. As far as I've seen, this hasn't come up, but it seems like an area where Alfred could really raise the bar. Smile has a pretty widely adopted API ( https://smilesoftware.com/textexpander-ios/apps) but the TE keyboard itself is pretty slow and generic. So I'd like to see an Alfred iOS keyboard, either as part of Alfred Remote or a separate app. It could just do snippet expansion on iOS using Alfred's synced snippets. If it could run scripts, this would be even better. And for the icing on the cake, maybe it could communicate with Alfred on OS X, run a query and return the results (the kind of two-way communication I think people were hoping to see emerge with Alfred Remote). OR....now that Smile has lowered their price on TE 6 to $20/year for existing users, and $40/year or so for new users, maybe it would make sense to not invest development resources into snippets. For me at least (as an existing user) the revised TE pricing makes switching a lot less urgent and compelling -- the main concern is the need to rely on Smile's sync service. Hence the subject line....if Alfred is going to go all in with snippets and replace TextExpander, it seems like an iOS keyboard is going to be necessary for many users....if that's not on the roadmap, it might not be worth prioritizing snippet features. Thoughts?
  3. I just installed Alfred 3 and purchased the Remote app for iOS. I have my iPad and iPhone on the same Wi-Fi network as my iMac. When I clicked on the Remote button in Alfred it let me click Add iOS Remote, and loaded a bunch of buttons on the OS X app. But the iOS app just sits and looks and looks for the OS X side, and never connects. I've tried on both the iPad and the iPhone, and neither will connect. Both are on iOS 9.3.2. The iMac is running OS X 10.11.6 Beta - might that be a problem? Thank you, Cyn
  4. What you were doing when the issue happenedI was trying to "Add iOS Remote" and an alert popped up in the Alfred settings pane. It says ""Alfred Remote Server needs to be running to add a new iOS Remote. Tick the "Enable Alfred Remote Server" checkbox to start Alfred Remote Server."" I notice that the message said "Tick", I wasn't sure if this was the right word for this action to fix the problem so this is why I am reporting it. Is it supposed to say "Click" instead of "Tick"? Whether you were able to replicate it a second time by performing the same actionYes, click Remote> Un-check the "Enable Alfred Remote Server" checkbox (if Enabled)> Add iOS Remote Include any screenshots that might help us Include the Alfred version & build number you are usingv3.0 [648] Include your OS X version 10.11.5 (15F34) Thanks
  5. Hi I'm just trialling Alfred at the moment, with the view to purchasing the Powerpack to allow me to build custom home automation controls. On my internal network (HOME) I can get the Remote IOS to connect to the Mac and control everything, which is fine. If I disconnect my iPhone from the Wifi network I can register using a static hostname (via http://www.noip.com), (EXTERNAL) after allowing port forwarding on my router and setting rules via Little Snitch, which again is fine. However, if I then turn my wifi on my iPhone back on and try to connect to HOME network I can no longer connect to the Mac. I have to delete the connection on both Mac and iPhone and reconnect to HOME, adding new passphrase. My question really is do you support multiple connections from a single iPhone from HOME and EXTERNAL connections? This is really the point of what I am trying to achieve with Alfred. I need to be able to control my Mac and connected devices/services when at HOME and then when I leave, still be able to connect directly from any EXTERNAL network, without having to do any further configuration.
  6. I currently use Mac's Parental Controls feature to limit the amount of time my child can spend on the family iMac on a given day. For instance, once he's done with homework and chores, he's allowed to login and use up his weekday allotment. Sometimes I want to grant him extra time as a reward for something, yet the iMac is often a good distance from where I situated in the house. I'm looking for a way to "extend" my child's time using an iPhone app for remote control so that I don't need to go to the Mac and type in my admin username and pw. Ideally I would also be able to just lock/unlock his iMac screen using my iPhone from anywhere (over internet) at any time. Will Alfred work for this? Any other suggestions? I've been web searching like crazy, reading about different software offerings, and cannot seem to come up with anything like this. One would think Apple would supply native remote control capabilities across its product line-up. Thanks in advance!
  7. Hi, I wrote this workflow for Resting all your iOS simulators. It also injects some default images (you can add more images to it easily). Also it will restart your iOS simulator, press <cmd> to only reset the simulator. Download Link This is my first workflow, would love some feedback/criticism/suggestions. Cheers!
  8. So um.......... Just recently I purchased Alfred Remote because I absolutely loved Alfred on the mac, but then I ran into an issue. Whenever I want to open the application, It just shows a purple page and then immediately quits. No matter what I do, it just quits. I have tried deleting the app and re-downloading it but that doesn't seem to help. Does this have anything to do with the version of IOS I am on? I am running IOS 9 Beta and I am thinking that this might be the problem. Is this the Problem? I wanted to post a video just to show you guys the problem but couldnt find how to do it . Thanks for the help. Regards, Starvader101

  12. Hi, I just wrote up a workflow to launch iOS Simulator without launching Xcode. To test website in iPhone or iPad, you might need iOS Simulator but it requires you to launch Xcode and then you have to select some menus to launch iOS Simulator. This workflow saves your time to launch it. Just typing "ios", you will be able to iOS Simulator very easily. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5173342/Launch%20iOS%20Simulator.alfredworkflow

  16. Need some help getting started with this workflow. Essentially what I need is this: [1] I'll be looking at a website in Chrome, and I would like to see how it will look on an Ipad or Iphone, via IOS Simulator.app (it comes with xcode). [2] I have lots of local index.html files I'm working on. I would like to open the selected file in IOS Simulator to se how it will look on an Ipad. Can anyone, give me an outline of how to achieve these workflows, please?
  17. I use Elements for a lot of little note taking stuff on iOS, and having a dedicated filter for it in Alfred makes it easy to pull up those docs on my Macs. Simple, yet effective. Elements Workflow / File Filter
