  1. I've gone through all of the recommended steps multiple times, including reindexing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Still the only results that return are top level folders (~/Documents), contacts, and system preference panes. When reindexing, I get to the point where it says "Press any key to close Terminal and continue..." I press a key, and it seems to finish in seconds. What's going on?
  2. Hi, I am using Alfred 3.2.1 after resinstalling in the hope that a fresh indexing would solve the problem. As you can see from the attached screenshot, /Applications is included in the Search Scope, but Alfred cannot find any applications (e.g. iTunes), only giving internet search options for the search input. Thanks in advance for tips/support. Joe
  3. Hello. I'm using Sierra DP3, and Alfred 3.0.3. I have no idea why this started, because for the past few weeks on sierra everything was fine. It started yesterday, when my usual search terms I use to launch apps (tl for Textual, sb for Sublime Text) weren't returning anything. So, I reloaded the cache --- nothing. Reindexed spotlight --- nothing. I've run sudo mdfind -E -i on / I've deleted /Spotlight-V100/* I've painstakingly let spotlight reindex over and over. Here's the thing: if I let spotlight finish reindexing --- all queries don't show the little indexing progress bar when searching with spotlight, I can find things just fine through spotlight. However, the moment I try to search something through Alfred, anything at all, spotlight goes back to indexing on all queries. If I let it finish, the cycle repeats. So it seems as if Alfred is doing something funky to the spotlight index? I have no clue. Productivity is at an all-time-low without Alfred, so some help would be nice (: EDIT: I'll maybe make a gif once spotlight finishes indexing. Also, if I use Alfred to search for anything while spotlight is in the middle of indexing, then it looks like I get thrown back to square 1, and have to start reindexing all over again. It's agonising, really. EDIT 2: I just created a new user account to try this (seems to be a suggested debugging step around here), and the same problem happens --- didn't even transfer any alfred settings over. EDIT 3: GIF: (http://i.imgur.com/BQAEhUk.gifv) Thanks.
  4. For whatever reason, Alfred doesn't seem to find Shady (http://instinctivecode.com/shady/). I have it located in /Applications, it does show up in spotlight, and I've done "reload" on alfred. Other applications in the folder are found easily.
  5. Hi, I know there's plenty of threads about the same issue: Alfred not indexing. I did read some of them: http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/5830-alfred-cant-see-one-particular-folder/?hl=indexing#entry35891 http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/5808-apps-not-indexing-despite-being-in-search-path-and-spotlight-finding-it/?hl=indexing But I can't find a solution. I went through all these steps a couple times, but the problem persist. I made sure files that Spotlight finds are in the Alfred scope, but still... I tested the Alfred metadata tool for one of the files it can't find and this is what I get: I've being struggling with this for month, gotten used to it. Now, I use both Alfred and Spotlight, but I don't thing this is ideal. Any suggestions? Thanks
  6. Dear all. I don't know if it's possible, but can Alfred quickly access the files / folders in a Truecrypt mounted volume (i.e. by opening Alfred window and typing a folder / file name?). Perhaps I need to force index of the mounted Truecrypt volume (which is stored in an external drive?). Not worried about privacy; my use for Truecrypt is only to prevent data to be easily accessed by anyone in case I lose / laptop is stolen. No military secrets or strange stuff there Thanks.
  7. I know Alfred uses the Spotlight index to power its search results, so my question is: How can I disable Spotlight from indexing the content of package files, particularly iPhoto or iTunes library files? The contents of these packages/libraries are cluttering up my Alfred results like no body's business. It's basically making Alfred dysfunctional for searching files and folders. I'm getting all kinds of irrelevant results with long strings of random characters (because that's how package/library data is named). It's really impacting my experience and I want to fix it ASAP. Thanks community for any advice you have. Screenshots below:
