  1. Very simple question here. My workflow runs a simple script, and assigns stdout to a variable: All I want to do is to show script_output in the post notification, but I can't find any way of doing that, I can set the "Text:" field to either "{query}", which inserts the query text - or I can input raw text, which it just treats as raw text. I can't find any way to specify a variable name other than query, and have Alfred treat it like anything but raw text. Little help? Thanks...
  2. I want to use Alfred notification for displaying data that I got using AppleScript. So the workflow basically gathers an information using an AppleScript, returns that information back to Alfred wich should display a notification and then the AppleScript should continue or another AppleScript should start, which should get the variables of the first AppleScript. The reason for this is that I cannot figure out how to use custom icons in notifications within AppleScript. I wanted to use Alfred for this, since I can configure notifications how I want. So the goal is to return information from an AppleScript back to Alfred, Alfred is displaying those information and continues the AppleScript. Is this possible?
  3. I'm trying to create a very simple workflow 1. Keyword: mic (with space) argument required http://d.inco.re/J07mwL 2. Run Script osa script set volume input volume {query} http://d.inco.re/0y7Fq 3. Post Notification Microphone Volume Set to {query} % http://d.inco.re/dceme2 I have no idea any notification does not show {query} at all Thanks in advance for all your help.
  4. Does Alfred have an email notification sound setting? I keep getting a sound when I get a new email and the developer of the mail app I use (MailMate) and can't seem to locate where it's coming from. All notifying sounds in MailMate have been disabled and the sound keeps coming. It even happens when Mailmate is closed. I've tried Soundbunny but it shows nothing when the sound occurs. link to the sound is here
  5. Heyho guys and girls, I just finished porting my old v1 extension NotificationControl to a v2 style workflow. You can download it here. You can use the following keywords: Show the current status of Growl and NotificationCenter : stat Pause Growl and Notification Center : pause Resume Growl and Notification Center : resume Pause or resume Growl : growl Pause or resume Notification Center : notificationcenter Close all Growl notifications : close_growl Close all NotificationCenter notifications : close_nc Show Growl’s rollup : show Hide Growl’s rollup : hide Enable Growl’s incoming network : enable Disable Growl’s incoming network : disable/ Restart Growl : restart
  6. I made a very simple osascript that loves the current track in iTunes, returns the title and posts it as a notification, using {query}. However, any text I add after {query} is not displayed in the notification.
  7. I have a workflow that is listening for spotify ads (so i can mute them). I have a while loop listening. When it finds an ad (a track with < 35 second duration), it sends a notification - but not an alfred style post notification; just the default applescript-like notification. Here's the code: Note: osascript -e "display notification \"Muting ad for $sleepDuration seconds\" with title \"Mute Spotify Ads\"" This is what I'd like to replace with an alfred Post Notification. vol=`osascript -e 'tell application "Spotify" to sound volume as integer'`; while : do state=`osascript -e 'tell application "Spotify" to player state as string'`; sleepDuration=1 if [ $state = "playing" ]; then duration=`osascript -e 'tell application "Spotify" to duration of current track as string'`; duration=$(echo "$duration / 1000" | bc); if [ $duration -le 35 ]; then position=`osascript -e 'tell application "Spotify" to player position as string'`; position=$(echo "$position" | bc); sleepDuration=$(echo "$duration - $position" | bc); osascript -e "tell application \"Spotify\" to set sound volume to 1"; if [ $sleepDuration -le 0 ]; then sleepDuration=1; else osascript -e "display notification \"Muting ad for $sleepDuration seconds\" with title \"Mute Spotify Ads\"" sleep $sleepDuration; osascript -e "tell application \"Spotify\" to set sound volume to $vol"; sleepDuration=1; fi else osascript -e "tell application \"Spotify\" to set sound volume to $vol"; sleepDuration=1; fi sleep $sleepDuration; else break; fi done osascript -e "tell application \"Spotify\" to set sound volume to $vol";
  8. I get incredibly paranoid pretty much every time I use these file actions. Partial reason for this request ...and my paranoia, is how copy and move silently fail if the file(s) already exists in the destination folder. So, I've developed a habit of always navigating to the destination folder to make sure the file(s) were copied or moved there. Which kind of makes these folder actions useless for me. I might as well just copy or cut and paste from finder folder to another and that would be more or less just as convenient, if not more convenient. Maybe there could be a osx notification that says: "File succesfully copied.", or something. I mean sure... When you move a file and it disappears, it probably ended up in the destination folder, but when you're copying, you won't be able to tell. You just have to assume or make sure it did. Of course you can't see the file disappear if you do it all in Alfred and you don't have the finder folder open. In addition to this, It would be great if Alfred handled copying and moving more like finder does, when it detects the file(s) already exist in destination folder. The way it gives you options: "Keep both", "Stop", "Replace".
  9. I have a keyword-triggered workflow which does its work in the background, and I want to display a notification when the task is done for some short duration. Currently, I did that by outputs>post notification. However, with this method, although the alert automatically goes away, the history notification remains in the notification center. What I want is a notification that appears for a while and then completely disappears. How to clear it from the notification center or is there an alternative way to achieve this temporary notice?
  10. It will be great if we can config some Alfred Remote actions to be in Iphone notification. Instead of opening app and select action, we can pull down notification center and select those actions. It will make us calling those actions much more faster. Thanks & Regards, Tung Dang
  11. I was encountered a strange problem with my workflow. I want to use Run NSApplescript to pass a string to NotificationCenter. So I wrote in Run NSApplescript as follows. set q "foo" return q And in Post Notification, Text: {query}. But the text field in NotificationCenter is empty. I also tested the case passing a number. ser q 0 return q Then NotificationCenter correctly showed 0 in the text field. What is wrong with the former case?
  12. I noticed that in OS X 10.9 Mavericks, notifications can use custom icons. iTunes 11.1.2 does this when sending 'Now Playing' notifications, using the album artwork as the primary image. It would be great if workflows could specify custom icons to use in a notification. For example, my Colors workflow could display an image of the color that has been copied.
  13. Currently, you have to turn on "following" (being notified by email of new activity in) topics *manually*, It would be convenient to have an auto-follow feature - i.e., an automatic subscription to notifications of activity relating to a given topic - in response to either of the following actions: "liking" a topic or reply posting a reply I think these are reasonable defaults; personally, I've forgotten to turn on "following" on a number of occasions, mistakenly assuming it had been turned on for me.
