  1. Hi When using Alfred 2 to shutdown or restart my Mac, it does it as if I have the setting on to "Reopen windows when logging back in", which is a setting i despise. Is this a bug(that Alfred 2 does not use the users standard setting)? Or is it possible to use these functions without this option on? Thanks.
  2. Hi everybody I'm really new to writing alfred workflows and also to applescript and I'm stuck ... I wrote a really small and simple script to write from alfred to the messaging app "Telegram". The script works fine when I run it in the Script editor but when I run it in Alfred I get the following Error: [ERROR: alfred.workflow.action.applescript] { NSAppleScriptErrorBriefMessage = "Expected \U201cend\U201d but found \U201con\U201d."; NSAppleScriptErrorMessage = "Expected \U201cend\U201d but found \U201con\U201d."; NSAppleScriptErrorNumber = "-2741"; NSAppleScriptErrorRange = "NSRange: {20, 2}"; } Here is my AppleScript: on alfred_script(q) on ApplicationIsRunning(appName) tell application "System Events" to set appNameIsRunning to exists (processes where name is appName) return appNameIsRunning end ApplicationIsRunning if ApplicationIsRunning("Telegram") then tell application "Telegram" to quit delay 0.1 tell application "Telegram" to activate delay 0.1 tell application "System Events" to tell process "Telegram" to keystroke "Test" delay 0.1 tell application "System Events" to tell process "Telegram" to keystroke (ASCII character 31) else tell application "Telegram" to activate delay 0.1 tell application "System Events" to tell process "Telegram" to keystroke "Test" delay 0.1 tell application "System Events" to tell process "Telegram" to keystroke (ASCII character 31) end if end alfred_script I guess it's a stupid mistake for you guys but I'm really stuck and haven't found anything online to solve it :/
  3. Hi, I know there's plenty of threads about the same issue: Alfred not indexing. I did read some of them: http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/5830-alfred-cant-see-one-particular-folder/?hl=indexing#entry35891 http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/5808-apps-not-indexing-despite-being-in-search-path-and-spotlight-finding-it/?hl=indexing But I can't find a solution. I went through all these steps a couple times, but the problem persist. I made sure files that Spotlight finds are in the Alfred scope, but still... I tested the Alfred metadata tool for one of the files it can't find and this is what I get: I've being struggling with this for month, gotten used to it. Now, I use both Alfred and Spotlight, but I don't thing this is ideal. Any suggestions? Thanks
  4. Hi All, I've never managed to get the Remote app working on my iPhone 5s or my iPad Mini Retina. Both are now running iOS8.2. My MacBook Pro is running Yosemite 10.10.2 I've looked through all the tips, troubleshooting and stuff on the forum here but nothing has worked for me so far When I get Alfred app server started and looking for remotes, the searching iOS Remote app picks up my Mac and shows the name of it on the iOS device screen. But then the connection never gets any further. This happens on both my iOS devices. Sometimes it just sticks there and nothing else happens, sometimes the iOS Remote app just crashes repeatedly. If I use direct connect it works over either wifi or wired network interfaces on the Mac but as soon as the IP changes it stops working and the auto connect still doesn't work Things I've tried Rebooting all the devices, Mac, IPad, IPhone, Router, multiple times Disconnecting all other wireless devices and just having the Mac and the IPad or IPhone Changing the port of the Alfred remote server Disabling the OS X Firewall + have checked that Alfred is allowed through it even when its on Reinstalling the iOS app I even had to start my IPhone from a clean install (no backup data) so everything on there is fresh - made no difference Tried added a new user on my Mac My Network setup is a BT Home Hub 5, my Mac has wired and wireless connections to it. I don't believe wireless isolation is on. Any thoughts? --- Update --- The direct connection has stopped working now after rebooting my Mac. The IP hasn't changed but neither device can connect anymore. Manually doing another direct connect on the same host IP worked but thats a pain in the ass.
  5. Hi, I have a Script Filter that populates xml results with my pre-defined items, and after selecting one of them, it creates new Mail.app Message (using NSAppleScript) with pre defined text, & subject text (that comes as an argument from Script Filter). The problem is that sometimes my Workflow stops working right after I choose one of ScriptFilter's results. It doesn't continue to (NSAppleScript) Action. Debug shows no errors, and the last logged text line is this: [INFO: alfred.workflow.input.scriptfilter] Processing output 'alfred.workflow.action.applescript' with arg 'First test title' Does anybody have experienced similar problem in the past? Thanks in advance, Romans
  6. After I set sync folder in my dropbox folder my custom settings of alfred app are always drops to default settings (custom settings I mean: disabled HAT in search form, custom web search queries and etc). The settings are used only by one instance of program on one computer, I set sync folder only for settings backup not for sharing. Thanks.
  7. When I come to shut down I often use Alfred to "Quit All Applications" then the "Shut Down." I do this at the end of each day. I sported this bug, sometimes if you "Quit all" and "shut down" before all the apps have closed, my computer reboots and displays a message "Your computer had to restart because of a problem." I have noticed this nearly always happens when I tell Alfred to quit all, then shut down straight after. And because it sometimes takes a long time for all applications to close (usually an adobe program that just takes ages to quit), if I force quite the apps that are taking a while, then the mac shuts down, but the reboots instantly with the error message. Because I noticed this I have been telling Alfred to Quit all, and waiting a while for all the apps to close in their own time. Then I would Tell Alfred to shut down. This usually works, but occasionally the computer restarts and still tells me "Your computer had to restart because of a problem." Just thought I'd let you know as you might be able to fix it. Apart from that Alfred has been running great, it's one of my favourite apps!
  8. Today alfred just stopped showing results beyond searching the internet, I've tinkered around with the settings, and nothings working. I did the rebuild index option, reinstalled, cleared the cache, and alas nothing. I have no clue what to do since I use alfred about every 5 minutes, and I'm really starting to notice how much slower things move Settings Window: http://imgur.com/8b7C2Ge,qtI7UfU#0 What happens when I search: http://imgur.com/8b7C2Ge,qtI7UfU#1 TL;DR: Alfred won't display any results. Help!
  9. Hello, I'm not sure it is an Alfred problem, but I don't know where to find a solution. When I try to write an email to a contact thanks to Alfred, Mail app doesn't open. I have a google url shortener extansion in Chrome and normally I can send directly the link by email, but again that doesn't work anymore. So I think it is a OSX issue, is somebody know how to fix this ? Thanks a lot,
