  3. Hello all, I cannot reveal the "Space" reserved for Finder with Alfred anymore, since mac os updade. Here is exactly what I mean, I have been as precise as possible to eliminate possible misunderstandings. Preconditions: -iMac 27 " running mac os "El Capitan" 10.11 (15A284) -Alfred updated in version 2.8 414 -There is at least 4 spaces set up. -Spaces do not "rearange based on most recent used". -Finder is set to be used on space 3 only. -Safari is set to be displayed on space 1 only. - At least 1 Finder window is opened (on space 3) Steps to reproduce : -open Safari (which then open on space 1) -open Alfred -type in "finder" to trigger the action "open finder app" -press enter Expected Results: (as previously observed before El capitan update) -The view will change to space 3 to reveal the opened finder window Observed Results: -The Finder becomes active but the computer does not change from space 1 ( safari) to space 3 (finder) to reveal the previously opened window. Am I the only one to observe this ?
  4. Hello! I'm new here and just started with working with Alfred (It's awesome!). Now, I was looking for a workflow, that changes the Display Resolution from MacBook 13" Retina. I found several workflows with this function, but nothing really working for me. The best one was the set resolution workflow from ramiroaraujo (https://github.com/ramiroaraujo/alfred-set-resolution-workflow). My idea was to have a workflow that only switches between the retina-resolutions from the system preferences. The Images below are only build with Gimp. I'm an absolute noob in shell/AppleScript programming, so I can't realize it. It would be awesome, if someone is interested in realize it.
  5. IS it possible to switch a theme based on a hotkey or keyword? I am having a hard time finding this info in the forums,
  6. If you use more than one AppleID in iTunes App Store or Mac App Store, this is the extension for you. All you have to do is to press a keyboard shortcut when you want to switch account, this brings up a dialog window with all your AppleID's listed. Then you choose the account you would like to log in to, and press enter. Only works on Mac OS X with English and Norwegian language - but it also work in both iTunes and Mac App Store! If you want your OS language supported, give me a hint.. Installation For AccountChanger to funtion like supposed to, you have to do some preparations first. 1. Download and mount http://cl.ly/YKQF'>AccountChanger.zip 2. Run the applescript application with the name "Run this first!!!" This Applescript will Install and launch UsableKeychainScripting (needed to use Applescript with Keychain Access after Mac OS 10.7), and add it to the startup items. 3. Open Keychain Access (/Applications/Utilities/) 4a. Make a new keychain by pressing the following keyboard shortcut: Command + Alt + N 4b. Give the keychain a master password and remember it. 4c. Give the new keychain the name 'Applescript', and drag it to the top of the listed keychains, in the upper left corner of the window (like in the screenshot below). 5. For each AppleID you want to use, make one 'New password item' (Command+N). Each of the entries must be named 'eple'. In the 'Account' field, enter your AppleID (email address). And of course - the password in the password field. 6. Add the Alfred workflow from the mounted image 'AccountChanger.dmg', and add a keyboard shortcut. Congratulations! The workflow should work now... My Twitter account - @macgeeky
  7. Hi everyone! Today I made a little workflow to control my WeMo Switch, so I thought I'd share it. DOWNLOAD You'll just have to enter your WeMo's IP address into the "Filter Script" block, and into the lower "Run Script" block if you also wish to use keyboard hotkeys. It currently supports only one device. I’d love to add support for multiple ones, but I only own one WeMo so it’d be very hard for me to develop the workflow without being able to test it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
  8. Switch System Ruby Workflow for Alfred App A simple Ruby development workflow for Mavericks to switch system Ruby between 2.0.0 and 1.8.7. My use case is specifically for Alfred workflows development, since Alfred uses the system Ruby, and not the binaries from RVM or rbenv. It might come handy in similar situations where system Ruby is needed. Usage Type the switchruby keyword to see the menu option: The only actionable option is the first, which will switch between Ruby 2.0.0 and Ruby 1.8.7. The workflow will ask por Administration Privileges to continue. Installation Download the alfred-switch-ruby.alfredworkflow and import to Alfred 2. Changelog 2014-02-07 - Released
