  3. One Dark UI - Alfred V3

A minimal and sleek theme heavily inspired by the colour palette of Atom One Dark UI. For a light variant, check out this theme. Download V1: Here I hope you enjoy using it, I find it quite soothing to use and works wonderfully with the dark menubar on macOS.
  4. My workflow dynamically generates script filter objects and it fetches icons from clearbit logo api. Sometimes it detects non-rectangular icons, and even though those look fine in script filter object configuration window, they are stretched beyond recognition (see the screenshot) in results and workflow overview. I'm on v3.0.2[676], OS X 10.10.5
  5. Good morning, I'm currently trying to create a simple Script Filter Alfred 3 Workflow using Python. I found an earlier example which demonstrated how to pass XML results to a Python workflow: xmloutput = """ <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <items> <item arg="testitem"> <title>FooBar</title> <subtitle>foo bar is a test item</subtitle> <icon>icon.png</icon> </item> </items> """ print(xmloutput) My question is, what is the syntax for doing the same with the new JSON data structure? regards, Andrew
  6. Is it possible to use a JSON Config block to affect the keyword of a connected block? I've tried copying the copy the config of a Script Filter block into a JSON Config block and changing the keyword, but it appears to have no effect. Overall, can anyone provide any details on how the JSON Config blocks are intended to be used?
  7. In a multi-step workflow, one where Arg and Var objects separate Filters and are used to pass state from one step to the next, is there any way to go to the previous step without starting over from the beginning? For example, in the Simple Todo List project, when the user types "todo some new task" and presses Enter, the workflow moves to a Filter object, using the output of the initial script filter as input. Is there an easy way to return to the previous state, where Alfred is back on the previous Script Filter with a query of "todo some new task"? I know you can just re-open Alfred and press "up" to use history, but that doesn't work so well if you're 2 or 3 steps into a more complex workflow.
  8. Hi I have question regarding the "Alfred filters results" script filter option. Does it support fuzzy filtering?
  9. Based on a File Filter, I want to go to two locations with Terminal, within the same Workflow. Let's say the file filter path result is: ~/my/folder. The first part of the workflow will simply go to cd {query} which navigates to ~/my/folder. In the next part of the workflow, I want to keep the last part of the query – "folder" – i.e. the "Display Name" in the File Filter, and interject it in the path ~/my/other/folder. I guess there might be multiple ways to achieve this, and the way I've been trying to figure out has been to modify the query via string replacements, so that ~/my/ becomes ~/my/other/ I have also tried to understand upstream variables and if it's possible to get the "Display Name" in the File Filter and simply take that variable and paste it into the path ~/my/other/ so that it becomes ~/my/other/{var} i.e. ~/my/other/folder, but I haven't succeeded. Appreciate any help with this since I've spent almost an hour now with no results!
  10. This forum has seen a lot of posts recently (including my own) which are basically geared towards allowing Alfred to replace TextExpander in the wake of the Smile pricing/sync kerfuffle -- ideas like allowing tabs/form filling, input within snippet expansion, snippets triggering workflows/scripts, case sensitivity in snippets, etc. Thinking about what it would take for me to be able to replace the 250+ snippets I have in TE with Alfred snippets, there are two killer features....1) is snippets to trigger scripts (mostly for date math)....I suspect this is in the works....2) is the ability to use my snippets on iOS. As far as I've seen, this hasn't come up, but it seems like an area where Alfred could really raise the bar. Smile has a pretty widely adopted API ( https://smilesoftware.com/textexpander-ios/apps) but the TE keyboard itself is pretty slow and generic. So I'd like to see an Alfred iOS keyboard, either as part of Alfred Remote or a separate app. It could just do snippet expansion on iOS using Alfred's synced snippets. If it could run scripts, this would be even better. And for the icing on the cake, maybe it could communicate with Alfred on OS X, run a query and return the results (the kind of two-way communication I think people were hoping to see emerge with Alfred Remote). OR....now that Smile has lowered their price on TE 6 to $20/year for existing users, and $40/year or so for new users, maybe it would make sense to not invest development resources into snippets. For me at least (as an existing user) the revised TE pricing makes switching a lot less urgent and compelling -- the main concern is the need to rely on Smile's sync service. Hence the subject line....if Alfred is going to go all in with snippets and replace TextExpander, it seems like an iOS keyboard is going to be necessary for many users....if that's not on the roadmap, it might not be worth prioritizing snippet features. Thoughts?

  12. Hi all, I've got a query to search BibDesk (based on BibQuery by Hackademic). See pic HERE. The topmost trigger "bb", can call some of the other trigger "ba" and "bt" (which I do using applescript). However, "bb", "ba", and "bt" share most of their actions. Right now, this results in a mess. But using a junction doesn't help, since it doesn't allow for modifier. Is there anyway to create some sort of junction that allows for modifiers? Thanks.
  13. I just upgraded to V3 with the Powerpack. I am hoping to be able to dump TextExpander if I can get some questions answered. I usually time/date stamp my emails and with TextExpander I have the expanded text look like this: Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 06:28 AM. I have tried modifying the sample date expression in Alfred but I cannot get it to look the same. The expression I tried was : {date:%A, %B %d, %Y at %I:%M %p} and it is not working. In TextExpander I can have the text formatted with bold or italic. Can Alfred format expanded text with things like bold & italic?
  14. After I updated V2 to V3 and bought a license, it seems everything went smoothly. However, I again installed some new apps like Day One on my mac, this time V3 cannot find them. I checked online and followed the steps here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/ Now, the problem is that on my mac the spotlight can find the new apps I installed but Alfred V3 cannot. Should I just 'rebuild OS X Metadata' as the article says? But it seems my situations are different. Would you please tell me is there any other way to fix?
  15. This morning I am so excited to download V3. However, when I try to customize in the preference, I cannot find the minus button in search scope which I was quite familiar in V2. I can only see a plus button. Dose someone has the same problem as me? would you please tell me how to customize the search scope?
  16. Is there any way to import over my TextExpander snippets into Alfred v3? I found this, but Github is a bit beyond me, no idea how to get started.
  17. Alfred V3 Sluggish

Has anyone else noticed Alfred V3 having a bit more lag when searching? This is the first I have ever experienced this, with any version of Alfred, and it started when I upgraded to V3 yesterday. The update today (build 648) still behaves this way. Is there a reindex I can/should do after upgrading? Perhaps other tweaks I can/should do to help pep things up? I apologize in advance if this has already been addressed in a previous post. -Chris
  18. It would be great if I could set two themes: one for normal mode, and one for dark mode. I have f.lux that changes mode at sunset, so the best would be if in Alfred's prefs I could set a theme for both settings, so that switching is automatic, it doesn't have to fiddle with a scripts.
  19. Is there any way to place an “Enter” keystroke in a snippet. I’m expanding a URL and I’d like it to automatically go to the URL when I expand it in a browser’s address bar.
  20. Hey Folks, Sorry in advance if this isn't the place for V3 workflow tips (and sorry if discussing V3 stuff, here, before public release is poor manners!). I am trying to have the following as a workflow: Filter file types (e.g. search only PDFs or only .skim notes or only .mmd files) Search for text within files of that type (e.g. search for 'justice' within only PDFs, or within only .skim notes) (So long as we're talking dream workflow, here, it would also be nice to filter multiply e.g. Search only in [.skim notes] with [tag=Aristotle' AND 'Nussbaum] for [query=justice]...) I know I can do 'in {query}' to search within files, and I know I can do file filters to search for specific file types, but I don't know how to chain the two so as to search within specific file types. I gather that Alfred V3 should be able to accomplish this (some kind of dynamic file search?), but I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to do it. Would I do a file filter, and pass off the entire result-list of files of that type to the next filter as a JSON utility? Or is this a bit outside the scope of what workflows are supposed to accomplish? Thanks! Caleb
  21. This forum description states "Bug reports or feature suggestions shouldn't be posted in this forum" but does not indicate where you want feedback or bugs for v3 reported. Clicking Help->Report a Bug in v3 takes us to the v2 Report a Bug page. How do we give you beta feedback? Thank you for making such an awesome app! Doug aka djuggler
  22. Access Preferences v3

So excited - just powered up Alfred 3. But, I don't see the gear icon in the search bar to be able to access preferences. Thank you!
  23. In light of replacing other text expansion tools with Alfred, I am missing two features in the beta version of Alfred 3: I need the feature of having a text entry field after having triggered a snippet so that I can fill in missing information "at expansion time", e.g. a snippet like "Dear {name}, ..." should allow me to enter a replacement for {name} during expansion of the snippet. There is support for dynamic placeholders, but it seems that this is only for date, time and clipboard and not for "on expansion time" values since they would require a UI to enter the missing values. Here is an example from another implementation (Dash): https://www.dropbox.com/s/ztnzp22reoa8b9l/Sample_custom_dynamic_snippet.png?dl=0 I need (basic) rich text snippets which allow me to format parts of my snippet in bold, as list item etc. It looks like I can format the complete snippet as a whole only as of now. I am really looking forward to the next iteration of the snippets feature.
  24. clipboard manager has stopped working

I use the alfred clipboard manager a ton and to my dismay when I updated to the latest v2 release (the one for upcoming v3 compatibility) and suddenly the clipboard stopped working.. So i updated to the v3 beta thinking it might fix it, but have had no luck.. any ideas, what can i provide for more info on diagnosis? Thanks in advance
