High Sierra screen lock very slow - use new method

As of High Sierra the screen lock behaviour is very slow.

 

The keyboard shortcut for locking the screen the fast macOS way is 'CMD-CTRL-Q' which is too close to 'CMD-Q' for my liking, so I prefer to use Alfred to lock the screen.

 

It would be great if this was updated so it didn't take ~10 seconds to lock my screen after issues the Alfred system lock command.

Please make sure you search the forum before creating a new post, as this is a very active community, so you'll often find that things like this are already discussed somewhere. For example, this issue is discussed here, and Andrew provided a workflow-based solution for the time being.
