Javascript files are being identified as public.folder by macOS (so don't work in a folder filter in Alfred)

work out which app it is and delete that app

Try grepping /Applications for public.folder.

I've done that. But got quite a lot of results. If I understand correctly, I'd have to delete Ulysses/Preview/Flume/Mail?

Thank you for your help. I appreciate it.

You can't delete Preview or Mail—they're part of the OS.

And you don't just delete the apps. That just tells you which apps mention public.folder. You still have to check manually whether they're assigning the .js extension to public.folder.

You should also check other locations that contain app bundles, such as ~/Applications.

I am a bit confused how do I invoke this CFBundleDocumentTypes on an app from CLI.

The other strange thing is that these JS/TS/.d.ts files have the proper kind show in Get Info.

But Alfred Metadata shows them to have public.folder. Although File Type is probably different to Kind.
