Don't clear input window when pressing escape

Is it possible to not clear the input window when you press escape?

No, not exactly. There are a couple of options in Alfred Preferences > Advanced > History, though.

 

You can have Alfred remember and re-show the last query for five minutes or keep a history of your last 20 queries. In the latter case, hit ↑ in Alfred's search box to go "back" to your previous query.
