Fabio
Hi, folks! Any idea on how to use alfred to move a file opened in Preview to a new folder (i'd like to choose that new folder)?? Thanks a lot! Fabio Link to comment
vitor
Use the File Selection Shortcut (by default ⌥⌘\). Select a file in Finder, press the shortcut, and pick Move To…. Link to comment
Fabio
Hi, Vitor... I think you didn't get the problem... Let's imagine you're reading a document in the preview app. Without leaving the Preview, how to move the file to another folder? Maybe using apple script to simulate click in File -> Move To... -> ... ... any suggestion? Thanks a lot, Fabio Link to comment
vitor
Ah, yes, my eyes read “Preview” and my brain thought “Finder”. There you go. This Workflow will, upon calling its Keyword or pressing its Hotkey, open the file in Preview’s frontmost window in Alfred’s File Browser, allowing you to all kinds of File Actions, including moving. Sending it directly to Move To… isn’t feasible. 1 hour ago, Fabio said: simulate click in File -> Move To... -> ... You don’t need AppleScript for that; macOS let’s you associate a keyboard shortcut to any menu option. System Preferences → Keyboard → Shortcuts → App Shortcuts → +. Be sure to type the exact option name. Link to comment
