Domon
Hi, I have an issue similar to https://www.alfredforum.com/topic/11264-alfred-wont-index-macvimapp-installed-via-homebrew where Homebrew-installed MacVim couldn't be found in Alfred. When I run the following command, metadata of the app is returned. $ mdls /usr/local/Cellar/macvim/8.1-156/MacVim.app I can confirm that /usr/local/Cellar/ is included in the search scope. I have also tried reloading Alfred cache. Is there anything else that can help me figure out the issue? Thanks. Link to comment
vitor
Welcome @Domon, Try the troubleshooting steps, particularly fixing/enabling Spotlight’s indexing, which Alfred relies on. That was what solved the issue you linked to. Alternatively, you may consider installing MacVim via Homebrew Cask instead, which will put the app in /Applications by default. Note that while it’s unlikely to happen any time soon, we’re in talks of making formulae (the installation definitions in Homebrew) stop building/installing app bundles, making that the sole domain of casks.
