mattgemmell
Hi all, I missed the Alfred 1.x "action" keyword, which I usually used to open the selected Finder items in an app (more often than not Photoshop). So I made an Alfred 2.x workflow to do that. You can download it here: http://mattgemmell.com/files/open_selected_finder_items_alfred2.zip Usage is simple: 1. Type the keyword ("fsel" by default, for "Finder selection") then a space. 2. Type the name of the app you want to use (and/or pick it from the list), and hit Return. Hope someone else finds it useful. Once again, you can download it here: http://mattgemmell.com/files/open_selected_finder_items_alfred2.zip Cheers, Matt Gemmell http://mattgemmell.com @mattgemmell Andrew, mixterdee and liatmgat 3 Link to comment

It sounds like it would be much faster than typing fsel and application name. Grug 1 Link to comment
kelpie
not working... I use Pathfinder as default maybe that's the problem? Yes, I use PF too and it does not seem to pass the file over to the app. I tried from Finder and it worked fine. Cheers Link to comment

I was looking into it I have made my first app (turning images to jpg files) with automator, and with this alfred way of selectin/sending files it becomes perfect. I select files with pathfinder, i get them in alfred with the 'file selection' option, and then I send them to my little app GREAT!!! Edited August 25, 2013 by clamatac JMoVS 1 Link to comment
brianbeam
I'm also having trouble with the Open Selected Finder Items workflow… just magically stopped working one day. Wondering if a recent update to Alfred may have broken this. (I don't use Pathfinder.) Edited November 19, 2013 by brianbeam Link to comment
Lawdawg
This workflow doesn't recognize any of my Casks from Homebrew's Caskroom. I have Macvim.app alias in my applications folder that points to the Cask, but this workflow doesn't recognize it. The normal search in Alfred does recognize it correctly. Do you know what I can do to get .app aliases in the applications folder to work with this? Link to comment
