Simple question: How to send a string from a workflow?

I have a simple question. I want to send a URL to a browser. Or a string to an already active input box in an application. How do i do this? The only thing i can find is Key Combo which sends only one key. I want to send a string.

Ah, and the Open URL doesn't work for me because i want to send the URL to an already open browser.

 

It seems such a simple operation, but i cannot figure out how to do it.

What do you mean? The Open URL action sends the URL to whichever browser you tell it to, regardless of whether it's open or not.

 

Do you mean you want to send it to the active tab? And if so, you'll have to tell us which browser you're using because they all work in different ways.
