Customize file path appearance in subtext?

Hi all,

The file path served in the subtext after a regular search is of course very helpful.

 

However, especially for files in shared drivers, the initial part of the path can be long and take most of the space (e.g. '~/OneDrive - Very long hard drive name/Current Projects...', making the subtext less informative.

 

I was wondering if there is a way to 1) abbreviate the file path to show only the end of it (e.g. .../Projects/myfile.txt), or 2) parse the file path string to replace some folders with '...';  or perhaps 3) show the subtext on 2 rows?

Hello, I wanted to try again to solve this problem.

More generally, is there a way to customize the subtext in the file search results with some other metadata? For example, holding option would show file creation date in the subtext.

Not unless you want to reimplement it as your own Script Filter.
