Please add ⌘+F in the Alfred Preferences window to search for workflows.

+1, ⌘+L could be great to in addition with ⌘+F, to imitate the browsers usual hotkey to go the address bar.

Note that, as of Alfred 2.0.3, on entering the Workflows tab, you can simply start typing to initiate a search, even though the cursor is not in the search field.

 

More generally speaking, this works while the focus is on the *list* (as opposed to the workflow-definition pane), but is slightly awkward in that starting to type will simply *append* to the existing search field, if it isn't empty.

 

An explicit way of placing the cursor in the search field - Cmd-F, as suggested - would definitely help.
