ionstorm
Hi! I need some help changing the default terminal to kitty. I did go over another thread Change default Terminal to Hyper.is ? and I understand it's a workaround. From what i've understood, for the best result, the application should support Applescript. 1. How do I assess if something has support for Applescript and what it has support for? 2. Where's the best resource for learning to do Applescript? I'm happy to take a stab at it. All I need is for someone to point me in the right direction. Link to comment
deanishe
Kitty doesn't support AppleScript. You can generally assume that's the case with any cross-platform application. 6 hours ago, ionstorm said: How do I assess if something has support for Applescript and what it has support for? Run Script Editor, then menu item File > Open Dictionary… If the application isn't in the list, it doesn't support AppleScript. 6 hours ago, ionstorm said: All I need is for someone to point me in the right direction. This would appear to be the best place to start: https://sw.kovidgoyal.net/kitty/remote-control.html As that's a proper API, it should work better than Hyper or Alacritty. ionstorm 1 Link to comment
ionstorm
Thank you so much! I think I may have just enough to give it a go. 😄 Link to comment
ionstorm
In the end, I took the script that you wrote for hyper and used it for kitty. It does exactly what I needed it to do. I'll probably come back to this if I ever wanted to do something more complex. Link to comment
