MrP
Hi! I'm using Alfred 4.2 [1180] on Catalina 10.15.7 on two different computers - one is a Macbook pro the other is an iMac. On my iMac my workflows that use the Post Notification output place a notification on the screen. On my Macbook pro they do not. I went so far as to completely uninstall Alfred (using AppCleaner) and they re-install, re-import all my workflows and it still will not place a notification on the screen. An alternative output, like LargeType will show on the Macbook pro. When I run the debug it shows that the notification was passed through: [10:46:07.277] notify_test[Keyword] Processing complete [10:46:07.278] notify_test[Keyword] Passing output 'it's broke' to Post Notification Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Link to comment
Vero
@MrP In macOS's Notification Centre preferences, have you allowed Alfred 4 to show notifications? This also needs to be set to banners or alerts so that they actually show Cheers, Vero Alexander 1 Link to comment
MrP
Thanks Vero. Yes, I have that enabled. See attached. Link to comment
Vero
@MrP If you use other workflows with notifications enabled, do you see them? Try this tiny workflow, which uses the keyword "say" followed by whatever text you like. When you press Enter, you should see the output in Notification Centre. https://www.dropbox.com/s/g4jjje8jkssd2g7/Testing notifications.alfredworkflow?dl=1 Do you see a notification for this? MrP
No, it does not. Im going to look around in the console.app and see if any logs are complaining. I added "large type" to one of the notifications and that works fine. Link to comment
MrP
Ok - i found it. It's that pesky Notification center - my "Do Not Disturb" was on - so this is totally my mistake. However, i have discovered that the hours of do not disturb are the reason - something reset them and now I cannot change them. However, for Alfred, turning Do Not Disturb off allows the notifications to resume. Thank you Vero, for your time. Link to comment
Vero
@MrP Glad you got to the bottom of it I'll move this to Discussion & Help as it's not a bug and your solution may help other users in the future. Cheers, Vero Link to comment
