bobroger
I'm a new user and Alfred is not working for me. Perhaps I didn't specify the right settings: 1. Why is Alfred showing only Safari returns, and not any of my files? 2. Why doesn't Cmd +Q quit the app? Link to comment
hgoeldner
To search your files, type <space> in Alfred's search bar and then you can search for your files! If you want to search for your files automatically, then check the Folders box under General > Default Results. I'm assuming when you're talking about quitting the app, you're referring to the Alfred preferences window. It runs separately from the search feature meaning that although the window isn't open, Alfred search is still running. To actually quit the Alfred, simply go to your menu bar and click on the Alfred icon. From there you can Quit Alfred (not sure why you'd want to do this though). Link to comment
Andrew
If you're talking about quitting the apps listed in Alfred, use the 'quit' keyword, for example, show Alfred and type quit safari For searching files, take a look at this blog post: https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/spacebar-trick/ Cheers, Andrew Link to comment
