perldork Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 * Centralized repository for add-ons where add-on developers can publish and update their add-ons * Ability to search for add-ons from within Alfred UI * Ability to publish ( create or update or withdraw ) add-ons from the Alfred UI. The centralized repository would make it especially easy for users to discover community created add-ons and would encourage the growth of both the user and developer communities for this awesome software.

The centralized repository would make it especially easy for users to discover community created add-ons and would encourage the growth of both the user and developer communities for this awesome software. This has been requested quite a few times and we are very aware of the utility it would provide. However, running an official repo would be a rather large undertaking. An official Alfred repo would need to be managed, workflows and code would need to be verified to ensure that content isn't malicious, and so on. With the number of workflows popping up already, that could be another full time job itself. We have considered implementing something similar that would be an unofficial repo, but run by members of the Alfred team. Several Alfred users stepped in early and have already began implementing such sites, workflows, and features already. Currently, Aleeyoop provides a mechanism for updating workflows. APM (I believe it's still in beta) will provide the full lifecycle (allowing users to publish workflows, browse them via the APM workflow, get updates, etc), and there is also Alfredworkflow.com that has a list of workflows to pick through.
