Confusing Powerpack License FAQ Description

In "Which license type should I buy?" section on Alfred's Licence FAQ webpage (https://www.alfredapp.com/help/powerpack/license-types/), the Single User Licence clearly states that it can only be activated on two Macs.

• The Single User License is valid for one user on two of your own Macs, for the current version.

 

However, for Mega Supporter Licence, the confusing description tells nothing about the maximum number of Macs it can activate, which could suggest users that the licence could be activated on unlimited Macs (that owned by one user) simultaneously.

• The Mega Supporter License is valid for one user on your own Macs, and gives you a lifetime of free updates to Alfred for Mac.

 

After searching through Google and Alfred forum, I notice that many threads stated that the actual activation limitation for Mega Supporter Licence is up to four Macs, including many responses from Alfred Administrators.

 

My question is, if Alfred made a such clear limitation, why the limitation is omitted in Alfred's official FAQ page?

@Avatar Provided the Mega Supporter license is used on Macs that are for your use, and not shared workstations, our licensing system gives a little more flexibility.

 

If you hit an activation limit and are unable to activate any more, contact us and we'll be happy to help you

 

Fundamentally, with both license types, the key point is that the license is for one individual, not for sharing.

I want to ask the basic of questions but can't the answer within the FAQ. 

By 'current version', should I purchase the £29 option, does that mean I wouldn't receive subsequent bug fixes?

 

I work in SaaS, funnily enough in sales, and I've seen pricing models that allow 'current version to me 2.xx, or in the latest Alfred case you pay £29 for 4.xx where you'd receive upgrades until 5.xx was launched with significant additional functionality.

@xGriff Apologies if you find the wording confusing - An Alfred 4 Single User license includes all Alfred 4.x updates

@Vero I would also like to clarify if it is allowed to use Alfred on a corporate laptop, where I am the only user (i.e. company-owned device dedicated to me where I am the only user). Thank you!

@maxromanovsky Yes, provided you're the sole user of that Mac and it's within the alloted number of Macs for your license, you can activate on your work device

Just few more clarifications (please don't waste your weekend answering, as it could definitely wait):

• Is there a way do deactivate license from a Mac for Single license, in case I'd want to switch to a new Mac and retire/sell the old one?
• Without purchasing I can't see if it's possible to upgrade Single to Mega Supporter license: https://www.alfredapp.com/shop/upgrade/. Is that possible? If yes, what would be the current cost for newly purchased Single license?

Yes, you can open your Powerpack preferences, view your license and click "Deactivate" to remove your license from a Mac you no longer want to use

While it's not possible to cross-grade from one license type to another within the same version, if you opted for the Single User license, you'd be presented with upgrade options to the Mega Supporter when the next version of Alfred is announced
