Scrolling via some keyboard bindings (e.g. ctrl+[j|k], or alt+[j|k])

Recommended Posts

Would be nice if we could scroll search/snippet results with some keyboard shortcuts. I'm sure many Alfred users are also somewhat familiar with the `j` and `k` keys for scrolling, be it in terminal, or text editors, and would find this useful. At the moment:

`alt+j`, does this: ∆

`alt+k`, does this: ˚

...not very useful, and these keys could instead be used for enhancing productivity.

Those aren't hotkeys, that's part of macOS's text input system. You can't bind key combinations like that in text input fields because it breaks text entry.

As @deanishe said, those are standard input keys, but it is easy with Alfred to map them to something else if you don't mind loosing them... Simply create a workflow with 2 hotkeys set to be active only in Alfred and connect them to a Dispatch Key Combo set to Up or Down arrow.

Here is an example: https://d.pr/f/lRo7bA

Simply map the Hotkeys inside the workflow to 'alt+j' and 'alt+k'
