File searching in folders with '.' prefix such as ~/.config

Is there a way to allow Alfred to search for hidden folders with the file search menu? I would like to include ~/.config within the search result so I don't have to type it in directly. I tried adding ~/.config to the list of search folders but it didn't work. Thanks.

Hi @Mark S, welcome to the forum.

 

I'm afraid it's not possible to search directories like ~/.config in Alfred because the OS doesn't index hidden files and directories (amongst other things).

 

You can navigate into the directory, but its contents are invisible to Alfred's native search. To search inside such directories, you'd need to use a workflow that searches using some other mechanism than the OS metadata index.
