mlondon
As I travel internationally, I would like to modify the default Google search to use http://www.google.com/ncr (which forces it to "no country region") But in Alfred search preferences, there doesnt seem to be anyway to change the default search. How can I do this? (I prefer NOT to have to make a custom search which would require me to type a keyword before the search term.) Thank you. Link to comment

No, it wouldn't. Custom searches work precisely the same way as the built-in ones. You just need to configure your Fallbacks properly under Features > Default Results. Link to comment
mlondon
Thank you, but despite years of using Alfred I'm still a newbie and need help. I made a Fallback Search Workflow, but I dont know how to have it pass my query to the URL. On the left I made a Fallback Search Trigger and named it "Google NCR" On the right I have an Open URL action, and have it pointed to: "http://google.com/ncr" How can I get my query term passed on to the search? Thank you. Link to comment

You need the URL of search results that includes the search query. 51 minutes ago, mlondon said: How can I get my query term passed on to the search? That's explained in the instructions in the Open URL dialog. Link to comment
mlondon
Got it. Thank you. For those who may be interested, the correct URL to search Google with No Country Redirect is: https://www.google.com/search?q={query}&pws=0&gl=us&gws_rd=cr&gl=us&hl=en&pws=0 Even if one is using a VPN, Google will make a best-guess of your location and automatically redirect search results to that country. Using the above URL will force Google to make your search default to "no location" which will give you results as if you were in the US. deanishe 1 Link to comment
