vitor
Ah, yes, thank you for the clarification. To add a clarification to my point too, I meant that you should do it if you don’t have a custom setup (which seems to be @iandol’s case). netnothing 1 Link to comment

If the default doesn’t work for you, “Applications and Home” should. Alfred Defaults does not work, even though ~/Library/CloudStorage is included. I also tried adding ~/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox explicitly but it doesn't work. Applications and Home does work. This is macOS 13.1 (22C65), Dropbox V166.2.1015 & Alfred 5.0.6 [2110]. Dropbox itself is currently buggy as hell (default app reassigned and many quarantine errors for synced files), but in this instance at least Spotlight finds my Dropbox files when Alfred doesn't (when set with Alfred Defaults). Sashwat Tanay
I have Alfred Powerpack and my Dropbox folder is at ~/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox. This is how I fixed the issue. 1. Go to Alfred Preferences --> Features --> Default Results. 2. In Search Scope, add the directory ~/Library/CloudStorage 3. Now go to Alfred Preferences --> Advanced 4. Click Rebuild macOS Metadata 5. This now gives you two options: "Reindex macOS...." and "Delete .Spotlight....". I chose the latter option and followed the steps to rebuilding the index. Took some time, but in the end, Alfred now shows the contents of my Dropbox folder. Link to comment
Vero
@Sashwat Tanay Have you tried the steps recommended in the post above yours? Open Alfred to Features > Default Results and look for the "Reset..." button at the bottom right of the Search Scope box. Click it and choose "Applications and Home" as your search scope, then try searching for your Dropbox documents. Are they found? It's most likely that you're seeing the same scoping issue as the earlier post, rather than an indexing issue. Link to comment

I navigated to /Users and then picked my home folder, and Alfred added it as "~" With that, I didn't need to enter the ~/Library/CloudStorage folder to get results when I search for a file in the Dropbox folder. I have "MacOS Applications folder and Folders in Home checked, though the later is redundant with ~ as an included path. This seems to me like an Alfred bug, in that it's excluding everything from the ~/Library, even those things explicitly added, unless the whole home directory is present in the search scope. This ended up being the most straightforward fix for me. Thank you! Link to comment

It's most likely that you're seeing the same scoping issue as the earlier post, rather than an indexing issue. I am a long-time patron and just upgraded to the Mega Powerpack for a lifetime license. I have the same issue after upgrading my Dropbox App to the latest version, where the Dropbox sync folder is placed at `~/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox`. I have tested the search function in Spotlight and it works as expected, but Alfred fails to find any content located in the Dropbox folder. I fixed this issue by resetting the Search Scope to `Applications and Home` as shown in the attached figure. It seems it is a internal bug in Alfred rather than a indexing issue. Although I solve this issue via a comprised solution, it leads to a poor performance as Alfred will search all contents under the directory `~/`. I am wondering will the Alfred team solve this problem in a near future? Link to comment
Andrew
2 hours ago, ToDaMoon said: It seems it is a internal bug in Alfred rather than a indexing issue. Alfred uses the same underlying index as Spotlight. When changing the scope in Alfred, it simply changes the list of scope folders passed to the macOS metadata server when querying for files. Alfred's higher performance default search scope includes ~/Library/CloudStorage/ which for the majority of our users works normally and as expected. For a small number of users, usually people who have used Apple's migration assistant, this doesn't work. We found that adding the entire ~/ does work though, which is why we added the option to "Reset to Applications and Home". Under the hood, this makes Alfred operate more like Spotlight, which doesn't specify a higher performance scope, and why Spotlight works by default. For many users, doing a low level reindex of macOS fixes the issue (including deleting the .Spotlight-V100 folder): https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/#rebuild For some users, removing and re-granting Full Disk access (with Alfred quit) also worked. https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/permissions/#full-disk We continue to monitor the situation, but as this is a bug (or corruption) in the macOS index for specific users, it's not possible for us to reproduce in our environment.
