sknud
Hi there, Just upgraded my computer and downloaded Alfred, but I cannot seem to search for anything when it comes to files/folders. I am on the latest version of Alfred and MacOS., I have tried resetting my file searching index but it didn't affect it. I am pretty sure I have granted all the relevant permissions, but interestingly, when I run the diagnostics tool it says: "Check if file is readable...❌ Alfred does not have permissions to read this file. Check if Full Disk Access is granted in the macOS Security & Privacy preferences" I have done this, so I am not sure what do? Any help would be hugely appreciated! Link to comment
Vero
@sknud Welcome to the forum. Where is the file in question located? Could you provide the full output from the File Troubleshooter? With regards to permissions, if you granted permissions before upgrade, it's possible that macOS has lost resolution of those permissions. You can follow these instructions to re-grant them: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/permissions/#regrant Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero Link to comment
sknud
Hi, Thanks for rapid response! To be clear, this is a new macbook pro which I have just bought, but it does have many files that were transferred over with Migration Assistant. Regardless, I have re-granted permissions following the above link. This appears to have changed the diagnostics to run successfully, but the files still do not come up in when searching with Alfred. In terms of the file, it seems to be every file on my mac. But as an example, here is a file from within iCloud that I cannot find: " Starting Diagnostics... Vero
@sknud Could you please try following step 2 and letting me know if this improves the results? If it doesn't, it's a couple of clicks to reset it back to defaults, so there's little risk in testing this theory. Cheers, Vero Link to comment

korokoro
same did you get the answer? I'm having the exact issue with new 16 inch m1 macbook pro. what is the "step 2"??? Link to comment
Andrew
@korokoro It's referring to Point 2 here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/monterey/ Monterey has some issues in the account migration, and setting Alfred's search scope to / works around this issue. Cheers, Andrew Link to comment
sknud
Although the solution above worked, the search function does not seem to work as well as I'm used to Alfred working. I often cannot find folders I frequently use etc etc Link to comment
