Spotlight Comments as a Keyword

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I seem to recall that in previous versions of Alfred, I could add a "spotlight" comment to a file or app which would allow Alfred to use the comment as a keyword.

But in V2 it doesn't seem to work.

My example is: My mac is in Swedish. So, system preferences is "Systeminställningar"

I have been using the keyword "SI" for the last year in Alfred 1.x (because technically, the Swedish word above is two words [but they like to not use spaces in their compound words], so it is natural when thinking in Swedish to just use SI.

But this no longer works in Alfred 2.

It would be cool if there was an option in Alfred when successfully finding a result (if I just type "sys" I get my result) to have one of the options when you right arrow to include "add custom keyword."

I'm not sure if this will help or not, but have you tried changing Alfred's matching method? Look under 'Advanced > Files / Apps > Apps Matching' and change the value to 'Full fuzzy match from word boundary'.

There is a little bug in b178 regarding spotlight comments and apps. Try this build instead:

http://cachefly.alfredapp.com/Alfred_2.0.2_180.zip

That way, you can leave the fuzzy matching mode to default, which would keep your results much cleaner :)
