Ethan Hansen
Hello, new Powerpack user here! Dozens of times a day, I need to right-click on files in Finder to click "Copy Dropbox Link." I want to speed this up with Alfred. I haven't found information on how to use file actions (?) to trigger context (right-click) menu items Dropbox actions do not appear in Finder's top bar menus I don't want to do this with an auto-clicker since the nature of my work is very mobile and I'm moving offices, computers, and screens multiple times per day Ideally, I'd like to end up with a Workflow that... Copies the Dropbox link to clipboard Copies the filename to clipboard Combines into a hyperlink with the name of the file and the URL of the Dropbox link Maybe that's wishful thinking, but that would be amazing. Appreciate any help you can offer on this! Link to comment
vitor
Welcome @Ethan Hansen, To access the context menu, you need to bring it up and simulate the click. The alternative is to perform the task itself some other way. It used to be possible by using the Dropbox API, but it’s unclear if it’s possible still without major hassle (creating a new Dropbox app, setting up OAuth…). If you do find a way to make it work programatically, we can help you integrate that into Alfred. Ethan Hansen 1 Link to comment
Lasttoswim
Hi Ethan, found your post because i was looking to do exactly this. Not what you were asking for, but finally figured out that you can do exactly this in Better Touch Tool with the "Trigger context menu item" action. Link to comment
