Searching inside google drive documents

Recommended Posts

Hi. I'm using google drive and also synching all my files so they are available on my computer. Is there any way to search within all my documents using alfred and get results just like when I use drives native search function, see below:

When I use the "in" keyword I don't get any hits, see below:

Welcome @Swedia,

Google Drive’s situation is strange, as it never worked well with Spotlight (whose index Alfred uses). The workflow does not include the file contents because that would make it massive.

However, since you have all your files locally, it may be doable. Some people do report their drive being indexed by Spotlight, while others not. There’s no obvious pattern to it yet. Can you see the files in a regular Alfred search (without looking for contents)? If not, How is your Search scope set up? Try Alfred Preferences → Features → Default Results → Search Scope → Reset… → Reset to Applications and Home.

In addition, simplify your search first. It seems like you may be giving special parameters to the online search, but a local search won’t use that.
