Search Things 3 tasks?

Hi guys,
I would love to be able to search for a Things 3 tasks through Alfred.

 

I guess a good and somewhat easy way would be to "just" insert the search phrase into the search field:

 

I can do something like this myself for web applications but I'm not skilled enough to do this for a dedicated Mac Desktop app.
Do any of you know how to create a workflow that does that?

It depends entirely on the app. Some apps make it simple, others make it impossible, but there’s no generic way which will work for all. For Things, @xilopaint created a workflow which is available in the Alfred Gallery.

So the simplest solution here is to use their URL scheme. If you create a Custom Web Search, you can input this URL and search easily that way.

 

things:///search?query={query}
